FAZER LOGINVarda's POV As we slowly began to to walk out of the hospital, I leaned close to Elisa and whispered softly into her ear. “Hey Elisa, I wanted to ask about the journal. Did you end up keeping it into the bag?” I asked. Elisa halted in her steps and turned around to gaze at me with a confused look on her face. “What do you mean? I thought I told you to help me put it in the bag?” She raised a brow at me. I gulped a lump down my throat and rubbed the back of my neck before clearing my throat to speak. “Well about that….” I trailed off. “What about it?” Elisa turned to shoot dagger glares at me. “Varda, do not tell me you forgot to keep the book inside the bag.” She spoke through gritted teeth. I raised my hands in mock surrender. “In my defense, I did not forget to keep the book.”“Then what happened and where the hell is it?” The others had gone a bit ahead of us. Elisa grabbed me by the arm. “Varda please do not tell me you took Stephen's journal.” She whisper-yelled at me. I rol
Varda's POV Elisa continued packing but my eyes could not leave the journal, not for once. I was tempted to touch it and go through it but I knew snooping through it was invasion of privacy and that would be a really terrible thing to do. “Help me put the journal in the bag while I check the bathroom to see if he has any properties in there.” Elisa said and without waiting to hear my response, she stepped into the bathroom. Honestly, leaving me alone with the journal made me even more tempted to go through it. I was this close to picking it up and going through it when an annoying feminine voice rang out loud. “What a pretty journal.”I turned around to gaze at Fransisca with a frown on my face. “What do you want? Elisa and I are going a pretty good job at helping Stephen pack his things.” I snapped at her. “Are you sure? Because Stephen actually called me to the hospital. You remember right?” She cocked her head to the right and smirked proudly. “You must think Stephen actually
Varda's POV Francis McCall and Elisa halted right in front of me. Elisa looked distressed while Francis on the other hand had a disappointed look on his face. “What is going on? How could you two argue in public? What do you expect people to think?” He managed to scold us, even in a low tone. I could not help but scoff at him too. How could that be his biggest worry now? What people would think? Who cared about what people would think? People could think whatever they wanted to be honest. “She accused me first!” Fransisca folded her arms and a small frown grew on her face. “Accused? More like I am trying to point the truth here or how else do you explain your presence?” I raised a brow at her. “Stephen called me here!” Fransisca groaned in frustration. “For goodness sake, why are you finding that hard to believe? Is it some kind of hurt to your pride? Or do you really think you are the only special one in the world?” Fransisca rolled her eyes at me. I shook my head in disbelief.
Varda's POV Once Davis left, I felt this instant loneliness. I was deep in my feelings that I had not realized when tears had began to roll down my cheeks really fast. Throughout the night, all I did was cry my eyes out to the point of crying myself to sleep. The next morning, I was woken up by a gentle tap on my shoulders. I was a light sleeper in spaces where I was not really comfortable so it was easy for me to wake up from the gentle tap on my shoulder.I snapped my eyes open and gazed at one of the nurses who was in charge of treating Stephen. She had a concerned look written all over her face. “Good morning ma'am.” She said. I nodded my head at her gently while trying to flex my muscles. Sleeping on the bare chair caused a lot of pains to my back and legs. I could feel pain oozing from every part of my body. I bit my lower lip. “Is he awake?” I raised a brow at her, she shook her head in disagreement. “No ma'am.” She paused to eye me with deeper concern. “With all due resp
Chapter One Varda's POV Stephen asked us to leave his room and we did because the last thing I needed right now was another argument with him. It was clear that he was not in a good mood, although that did not excuse his jerky attitude but I just had to leave him to his thoughts. Davis and I were sitting in the waiting area. I could feel his eyes on me but I was too ashamed to even look at him. One of the reasons was that I was embarrassed by how Stephen had yelled at him earlier and accused him of being my boyfriend. It must have been really embarrassing for him too. Davis cleared his throat, causing me to snap out of my thoughts and raise my head to gaze at him. “Are you okay?” His voice was barely above a whisper but loud enough for me to hear. I gulped a lump down my throat and nodded my head slowly. “Yeah, I am fine.” I lied and I was pretty sure my lie was very obvious. My legs were practically shaking and I kept fiddling with my palms, that was enough proof that I was no
Varda's POV “I know about Gabriel Fernandez.” I repeated, clearing my throat and feigning confidence. I was not sure what I was doing or if this was going to be a bad idea but all I knew was that I had to force something out of Stephen's mouth. Stephen raised a brow at me, he did not seem surprised at all and I expected him to actually feel shock because I had just dropped something really shocking. “Yeah, what about him now Varda?” Stephen arched his brow at me. I could feel Davis’ gaze on me and I knew he was giving me the kind of gaze that meant “are you sure what you are doing is safe?” but I did not bother to spare him a glance. I was going to do whatever I had in mind. “Everything. I know Gabriel Fernandez is your enemy. I know how dangerous he is, I know everything so you better start talking.” I snapped at him, hoping he would at least take me serious from the level of my tone but to my uttermost surprise, Stephen still remained calm. He shifted his gaze to Davis. “Let m
Varda's POV Stephen! Was this the best he could come up with? Was he really expecting me to just run away from the hospital and leave Francis behind? Where would I run to? Back to the mansion? I did not have a single dime on me, neither did I even have a phone, what the hell was I supposed to use
Varda's POV The driver pulled into the driveway and yet I still remained quiet, allowing my mind to contemplate on whether to tell the truth or to continue trusting Stephen. Trusting Stephen seemed like a dead a end, the convertible trailing us from earlier was not in sight at all which meant mayb
Varda's POV"Hospital?" I rose from the bench with a look of surprise written all over my face. If anyone was going to do the confession about revealing the fake pregnancy, then it was certainly not going to be me. Stephen was the author and creator of this mess so I was going to let him be the fin
Varda's POV It seemed like Stephen knew he would be in bigger trouble if he dared to deny it so instead he just nodded his agreement and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "I can explain." He muttered but as expected, Francis was not going to buy any of that, his frown deepened as he took step
