Varda's POV The beeping sound of the heart monitor caused me to snap my eyes open. I furrowed my brows in confusion as my eyes came in contact with an unfamiliar white ceiling.I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palm as I slowly recognized this place to be the hospital. I was so confused as to why Stephen had a gun and why the gun looked exactly like the one Alex was murdered with. Stephen scoffed at me. "What are you going to do? Shoot me?" He raised a brow at me. I gulped a lump down my throat, taking a few steps backward until my back was against the wall. Varda's POVI could not stop thinking about what Elisa had told me yesterday. Although our conversation was left hanging when the gardener had suddenly interrupted. All she told me was that something terrible had shapened Stephen to become the man he was, she specifically said something traumatic. I had to think of several events but I could not come to an exact conclusion on why he would run from his wealth and family. I mean it would have taken him a lot of courage to do that. I thought of asking him today since we were going out together.I stared at myself in the mirror. My hair was neatly braided into a ponytail. I was dressed in a yellow sunflower dress and I had a yellow bow on my hair to compliment my look. I was going to apply makeup just to look extra but then I realized that I was terrible at makeup so I just intended on looking simple.I grabbed my handbag and slowly made my way out of my room.
