Meeting big bad wolves!

I jumped from the window and was about to run from the house, but my leg got caught in the metal clamp.

What the heck was this? What were metal clamps doing in my house's backyard?

"Selena, you're trying to run out of this house again," my mom screamed at me.

I slumped my shoulders in disappointment. I could never run away from this house. Mom dragged me inside.

I smelled the different aromas and looked at the blue tea sitting on my table.

"Why can't you leave me alone?" I lashed out at my mom for not letting me live my life.

My mom took a deep breath to calm herself down and then looked at me.

"You know that your 18th birthday is approaching, and I can't let you roam like this," she said in a concerned tone, and I chuckled.

"Yes, how can I forget that as a beta, it was your responsibility to kill me if my wolf spirit didn't awaken, am I right, Mom?" I said in a sarcastic tone, and Mom averted her eyes.

My mom and dad were the betas of the Moonshine Pack. They were the caretakers of the pack. It was a tradition in our pack that if wolves didn't awaken their wolf spirits by their 18th birthday, they were destined to die. And I was one of those unlucky people. There was no sign of my wolf, and within days, I would be 18.

"I am trying my best to save you. Drink this tea," Mom said and passed me the drink.

I sighed in frustration. I had been drinking this magical blue tea for a year, but it wasn't working. I was even experiencing side effects from drinking it.

"Mom, this tea is doing nothing. I know I can't survive, so please let me enjoy the remaining days that I have," I begged her, and she looked at me with a vulnerable expression.

"I won't let you die," she assured me.

But I knew that nothing could be done, and ultimately, my parents would be the ones who had to kill me. Mom forcefully made me drink that tea. Of course, I was a fragile girl, and I was nothing in front of the beta power.

"Do you feel any change?" she asked me hopefully.

"No, I am still the same fragile human," I said to her sarcastically and grabbed my backpack for college.

"Don't even think about running away because I will find you no matter what," Mom warned me, and I rolled my eyes at her.

I left home and walked down the street. Suddenly, I felt black dots appearing in front of my face. I fell dead on the street.

A few minutes later, I opened my eyes and saw a car coming towards me, but I had no strength to get on my feet. The car was about to hit me when a pair of arms whipped around my waist and took me to the other side of the street.

I looked at the six-feet muscular man staring down at me.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked me sweetly.

His eyes radiated a fierceness that took my breath away. He was such a treat to the eyes.

"I... am... fine, but are you crazy? You could have been hit by that car," I said to him with wide eyes.

"What was I supposed to do? Let you die?" he said with authority.

My heart melted hearing his words. He was such a sweet and handsome guy.

"Thank you," I said with a blush, realizing that I was still in his arms, and my hands were pressed against his chest.

He put me down on a small stone, and then I felt a dark aura towering over me. I raised my head and looked at the sexy man looking down at me.

Oh my god! What a species he was! My mouth watered seeing him.

"Be careful. You were lucky this time," he said in his sexy voice.

"Because next time, we won't be here to save you," he further stated.

I looked at both men clearly and found them unfamiliar. They didn't smell like wolves from my community, but how could this be possible?

"Why haven't I seen you guys before?" I asked them suspiciously.

"Because we are not from your pack," Dylan said with a sweet smile.

"What the hell? Alpha Warren would kill everyone who is not in our pack and trespasses our community," I said to them in fear. Both men were bad news to me.

I abruptly turned around to leave them, but both men surrounded me from either side.

"Running away from us, little wolf?" Dylan said with a wide smile. Aiden stood behind me, and his breath was like a warm fog as he whispered in my ear.

"Are you afraid of big bad wolves?" Aiden whispered to me.

My heart was racing hard, and all I could feel was fear.

Aiden snarled a low growl, and it was enough for me to run in fear. I ran in the first and slammed into a hard chest.

"We thought that you were different from the other coward wolves of Alpha Warren," Aiden said to me with a smirk.

They both stood in front of me, towering like a tall building.

"You both don't look trustworthy to me," I said to them awkwardly.

They both looked at each other and then at me.

"You are not what we are looking for," Dylan said to me in a serious tone, and they both separated, making a way for me to leave.

"But I have to report to Alpha Warren that I had seen you," I said with a tense face.

"This is what we want. Alpha Warren is expecting us," Aiden said with a clenched jaw.

But Alpha Warren hated outsiders and used to kill them, so why would he invite Aiden and Dylan from another pack? What were these big bad wolves up to?
