Your biggest nightmare?

"Please don’t hurt me," I said, closing my eyes.

"I am not going to hurt you," he said suddenly, and I opened my eyes.

Was he playing with me, or did he really have a soft spot for me?

How could I trust him? What if he was playing with me?

I thought of all the negative things, and in my stupidity, I threw the stone in his way. The rock bounced off his body as if it were nothing. He looked at me in anger, and I knew I was done for.

Before he killed me, I ran in the opposite direction and got in between the two wolves who were already fighting. Something hard hit my face, and there was a complete blackout.

THE NEXT DAY

I woke up with a heavy head and found myself in my room. I saw my parents discussing something but they went quiet when they saw me regaining consciousness.

"Thank God, Selena, that you are fine now," Mom said and was about to hug me, but I averted my head.

"I don’t think you guys are happy to see me alive," I taunted them, and they looked at each other.

"This is not true. We got tense when Collin brought you into an unconscious condition. We are only trying to help, sweetie," Mom said to me in a concerned tone, and I chuckled.

"Please, I don’t need your help anymore. Spare me," I said to them, and before they could say something, the siren began.

Why was Alpha Warren having a meeting now?

We all went to the community center for the meeting, and as soon as I entered, every pair of eyes glared at me.

One thing that bothered me was that the cage was empty. Something very deadly was going to happen now.

"What is happening?" I wondered.

"Dad, she is the one who invited Aiden's pack to war with us," Bianca accused me in front of everyone.

"YOU DARED TO GO TO AIDEN PACK TERRITORY!" Warren lashed out at me.

I was afraid, and words didn’t come out of my mouth. I guessed this was my last day because Warren was not going to let me live anymore.

"Alpha, it's us who took her there to arouse her wolf spirit," my dad put all the blame on me.

Oh no, I was angry at my family, but I didn’t want anything bad to happen to them.

"CAGE THEM," Alpha Warren ordered.

Soon my parents held me by their hands and dragged me to the cage. I was about to say something, but Collins held my hand.

My parents' backs were scratched before they were put in the cage. They were comforting each other but signaling me to keep my mouth shut.

"Torture them until I tell you to kill them," Alpha Warren ordered and dismissed the whole meeting.

I was such a loser who couldn't protect myself. Now, I was officially an orphan.

As I was going home with a saddened face, Aiden suddenly appeared in front of me. I freaked out looking at him. I had hurt him last night, and he was not going to leave me.

"Are you missing my baby doll?" he said to me with a smirk.

"Aren't you angry at me because I threw a stone at you last night?" I asked him with an awkward expression. He took a step towards me, and I took a step back.

"If I was angry with you, I would have never kept you alive," he said to me with a certain emotion that I failed to recognize, and I looked straight ahead.

"Why?" I asked him, and he trapped me between the tree and him.

"Because there is something else in you that I want for myself," he said to me, his face only an inch away from mine.

"Join my pack," he said in a serious tone, his eyes boring into me.

I looked at him with wide eyes. Why did he want me in his pack?

I was just a stranger, so why did he want me?

I could also feel a certain attraction between us, but was it okay to go with him to the rival pack?

I heard footsteps coming in my direction.

"You have to go. Alpha Warren is searching for you," I said to him in a panicked tone, and he smirked.

"I am not afraid of Warren, but I will meet you soon, baby girl," he said with a smirk and ran away in his wolf speed.

My heart was still pounding. I had no idea what the future held for me anymore.

THE NEXT FEW DAYS

These few days had been horrible for me. I had no one to share my pain with. I went to college, but as I stepped inside, Bianca and Principal Smith came my way.

"Principal Smith, she is the one who painted 'BITCH' on my locker," Bianca said with fake tears in her eyes, and I looked at her with wide eyes.

"She is lying," I said in my defense.

"You are expelled from college, and you better leave right now," Principal Smith said to me in anger.

"But I didn’t do anything," I said, getting frustrated.

"You are just like your parents, a liar," Principal Smith said, and I controlled my anger.

Why was I weak in front of them? I wished I had my wolf spirit so I could fight with every one of them.

"Principal Smith, tell her to clean my locker," Bianca said, gaining sympathy.

I may not have the wolf spirit, but I was not going to let them ruin my self-respect.

"You can do it yourself, and I regret that I am not the one who painted your locker. But if I did, I would have written more than 'bitch' because you deserve more," I insulted her, and the crowd howled at me.

I was not going to leave there with humiliation.

"Selena, clean her locker, and that's final," Principal Smith shouted at me.

"You expelled me, so I am no longer your student, and you can clean your dear Bianca's locker yourself. I hope you grow a spine by doing this," I said in a sarcastic manner.

I walked out of the college with a proud expression and went to the woods to sit on one of the stones. Oh God, what had I done? Alpha Warren would slaughter me.

I became alert when there was commotion in the bushes.

"Who is there?" I said in an alert tone.

"Your biggest nightmare," came a hard voice, and my heart skipped a beat for a second.
