ADELINE

I wake up with a start....

Someone is calling my name from outside my room and the voice is unmistakably Alpha's.

I pick my phone and check the time and it's only three in the morning. What's the emergency? Why has he decided to come to my room?

"Open the door." He says and I reluctantly climb out of bed. I switch on the lights and then head towards the door to open it and get to know why he's here at this hour.

"You shouldn't be here Alpha." I say as I open the door. "You-" I stop on my tracks when I notice that the bearer of the voice isn't the Alpha but his son, Jaxon.

Angrily, I storm back into my room and try to lock it behind me but he uses his Alpha strength to push it, forcefully letting himself inside.

"You shouldn't be here Jaxon!" I say angrily. "Your father will kill you when he meets you here!" I add.

"Shut up Adeline and come with me!" He commands. Wow! I'm no longer 'bitch' to him but 'Adeline'? Wow!

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" I hold my stand firm. "Get out of this room before I shout!" I threaten.

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Try me!"

"Adeline, I just want us to go somewhere and talk this out, nicely. I don't want to harm you or do anything bad to you. I only want you to denounce my father and claim me as your mate."

"What? Hell no! That's impossible. Remember you rejected me first and I rejected you later. I'm now your father's Second Chance Mate and I can't have anything to do with you!" I say firmly.

"But we can still work something out." He says while moving closer to me.

"Over my dead body!" I cuss as I walk towards the door, ready to run away.

"Don't make this hard, Omega!" He's back to being rude and arrogant. He walks faster than me and stands at the doorway, making it impossible for me to access the door.

"Get out of the way Jaxon. You can never change even if I grant you a hundred chances. You're ever arrogant, abusive, ruthless and you lack respect. I can't have anything to do with you!" I say firmly, trying to push him out of the way.

"How dare you say all those words to me, bitch? Do you know what I am capable of doing?" He asks angrily, already pulling something out of his jeans pocket. "You either come with me willingly or I'll force you out of this room!" He threatens as he points a silver knife at me. He's also holding a gun. Oh my goodness , what's all these?

"Alpha Waylon won't spare you if anything happens to me!"

"Shut up and let's go. This gun has dozens of silver bullets inside and I'd hate you to be its first victim!" He threatens.

"You ba-" I say but stop midway for fear of being shot or stabbed.

All the stories that I've heard about silver bullets and knives on wolves are scary and I don't want to be a victim. Jaxon is ruthless and he doesn't mince his words. If I have to die, then it shouldn't be such a painful death.

"Out, now!" He commands, still brandishing his weapons.

"Okay.... okay..." I surrender while raising my hands. "But at least, let me change into something decent." I say to him, just to buy time. I'm in a transparent night dress, though I'm wearing a pantie and a bra.

"You're okay the way you are." He commands. "Move, and act normal in case we meet anyone on the way." He orders and I step outside the door. I'm praying so hard to meet someone who might rescue me because I don't know what his intentions are. He doesn't even allow me to take my phone with me!

Jaxon and I walk side by side, heading towards the Pack House's living room and I suddenly panic when we pass by it instead of sitting on the couches. The main door is slightly open and he ushers me outside, where I spot his car which is parked just close to the door.

"Get in at the back and lie on the seats. I don't want anyone to see you!" Jaxon orders.

"But-"

"Shut up bitch and move!" He's back to his ruthlessness. "Don't waste my time, else I'll blow up your brains!" He commands, making my heart to sink. I get into the car without more questions and lie on the back seats as instructed.

Jaxon climbs onto the driver's seat and ignites the car. He drives off towards the gate and after exchanging a few words with the Pack House guards, he's given a go ahead to drive out. Oh no! Those bastards do not even check the back seats! They've let him drive out at this hour without thoroughly inspecting his car!

"Where are you taking me, Jaxon?" I ask yet again, hoping he'll answer me this time round.

"Somewhere safe." He responds, his eyes fixed on the road in front of him.

"Isn't the Pack House safe for me?" I ask curiously, only to irk him.

"Shut up already, okay? You disgust me!" He scoffs.

"If I disgust you that much, just let me go back to the Pack House and let's pretend this never happened. No point in kidnapping someone you so much hate.... someone who disgusts you to the core!"

"If you don't shut up, I'll put a silver bullet through your dirty mouth!" He threatens. "Gosh, what did my father even see in you?"

"Something you were too blind to see!" I retort amid clenched teeth. I'm tired of his threats and insists, he can put that bullet through my head as he claims and end it all!

Jaxon drives angrily and swerves off the road, something that makes me to panic. He parks the car carelessly and since I've already sat up, he turns back to face me. His eyes are already red, an indication that he's fed up with my nagging. Well, if that's the case, why can't he take me back to the Pack House and let me continue with my life as his stepmom? Ah, that thought alone makes my heart to swell with joy!

"If you don't shut the fuck up, I'll lose my temper and send you to hell!" He says, his temper rising each passing moment.

"And I'll haunt you till eternity!" I retort, obviously irking him even more.

"Useless Omega." He cusses under his breath. "I don't even know why I'm being bothered by you being my father's mate!"

"Then take me back to the Pack House!" I demand but he just shakes his head. "Why do you find it difficult taking me back yet you hate me that much?" I ask, trying as much as possible to make him angrier.

"You're lucky I'm in a good mood, else-" Jaxon says, then stops midway. He ignites the car and gets back to the road, then drives off silently towards wherever he's planning to take me.

I try as much as possible to mind link my mate, Alpha Waylon but I can't just connect to him since we haven't mated and my Luna ceremony is yet to take place. Also, I couldn't take my phone with me and I'm sure he wouldn't have allowed me to take it with me.

"Does your father know that you've kidnapped me?" I ask Jaxon after a long silence.

"He doesn't have to know... not for now, at least.... but he'll eventually know."

"But you know what you're doing isn't right."

"Will you shut up, woman?" He scoffs. "I'm concentrating on my driving, unless you want me to hit a rock and kill the both of us!" He threatens.

"Isn't it better to die than taking me somewhere I don't know what's awaiting me?" I say to him. So far, I haven't shed even a single tear and I'm surprised at how strong I am. "You'll certainly face the Alpha's wrath if anything happens to me!" I threaten.

"Let's wait and see." He says amid clenched teeth then focuses on the road ahead.

We've been driving for over thirty minutes and I silently pray to the moon goddess to do a miracle so that the Alpha can notice that I'm missing. I just hope Jaxon won't try anything stupid with me!
