10-The Compromise

“Thank you, Alpha Temperance,” Doug’s Mother hugs Temperance tightly.

“He was someone I looked forward to seeing every morning,” Temperance tells her.

“Protecting you was his greatest goal,” Doug’s Mother smiles.

Temperance hands her the flag that had been draped over Doug’s coffin.

The Biczi Pack flag is silver with glitter radiating from a black howling wolf with Biczi Pack under it. Temperance and Sebastian folded the flags in honor of the fallen. If it had not been such a sobering occasion, watching the two of them avoid touching each other would have been comical.

Zachary stood guard of the chained Races, forcing them to watch the young wolves they killed honored, while their own son was burned just as they will be after their deaths. He watched as his children dressed in their Pack uniforms saluted the coffins and folded the flags expertly as they have been trained. Even in this time of sadness, they gave him reason to be proud of them.
