Chapter Twenty-two

"Ancestors of our land, according to your teaching and rules, we have brought these offenders before you, they are being charged with treason, may their souls be scorched from entering the ancestral land and may they be caged in between worlds forever, never to return to any forever." Said Cayla in a loud voice.

She had her hands raised as she faced the four pillars at the execution ground, which according to their tradition was the gateway to offenders' souls.

The ladies were still chanting, they stood five at each pillar facing each other.

"Tie them to the pillars, let the consecration begin," said Cayla.

They tied Mira and her accomplice to the pillars as they were surrounded by the crowd.

Mira screamed out in great pain and anguish, as it dawned on her that she would be stuck in-between worlds.

"This is my fate, and I accept it," whispered her accomplice with great difficulty, as exhaustion had warned him.
