“Sir! Oh my goodness what happened to you?”

It was Enya, Luca's secretary. She noticed the bandages on his hands as he opened the door to his office

“It was a domestic accident, no big deal”

Enya didn't sound convinced

She pushed her glasses to the bridge of her nose

“With all due respect sir you shouldn't be here right now. If you were injured —”

“I'm sure I can manage just fine, send me the files you said needed my attention”

“Yes Sir”

“There's one more thing” Enya said

“Well what is it?”

“I finished all my work yesterday, is it okay if I take the rest of the day off?”

Enya never really took days off, and she worked really hard

“Knock yourself out”

Luca opened his laptop and began to work. His fingers clicked the buttons like he didn't feel the pain

But he couldn't focus on anything he was doing. Sharon was the only thing on his mind. Why the hell was he even thinking about her?

What did she do to him?

He was so immersed in his thoughts that he didn't realise when someone entered.

He didn't look up, but was brought to consciousness by the sound of her heels, clicking on the floor as she walked.

One whiff of her perfume was enough to tell him exactly who it was

“I don't want you here Sandra”

Luca's face was still down. He could already imagine the disappointment on her face

Sandra took out a napkin from her purse, like she expected him to say something that would make her cry

“I've missed you Luca”

She said in a low seductive voice

She let her hand wander to his desk and hold his

“You don't have time for me anymore”

“That's because I'm married Sandra, I made that clear to you”

He pulled his hand away from her

“But it's an arranged marriage, you don't like each other

That's should be an even bigger reason why you would want me by your side”

Luca raised his head to look at her. Only then was he able to serve at she was wearing

It was a short red dress with a split by the side

Her long legs were visibly beautiful, but Luca could care less

“What the fuck did you just say Sandra?”

“What—”

Luca stood up and walked to her. She was taller than Sharon, but Luca still towered over here

“You feel that you have the right to walk into my office dressed like a slut because I'm in an arranged marriage?

Have some fucking self respect!”

His cold gaze intensified, and Sandra turned to avoid his eyes

“Do you like her Luca? Is that why you're pushing me away?

Luca chuckled

“Maybe I'm just tired of you”

Relief washed through Sandra as he turned to sit back down

Get the fuck out of my office

Sandra finally had the opportunity to use the napkin, because the tears fell

As she turned to leave, she heard Lucas voice behind her

“And Sandra, never speak about my wife again —”

*******************

“I'm a bad person, I'm a really bad person”

Claire said as she drove back to Donald's suite

She recorded everything Mrs Gray said, every last bit. It made her feel bad, but she was doing it for love.

She had texted Donald immediately she left the Gray family mansion, but he told her he had business so he wouldn't be home

Then he told her to send the recording

Just like that!

Usually when Claire did stupid things for him, he told her he loved her, he spoiled her. But it seemed as if she was losing her importance all of a sudden

She re-read his text

Send me the recording quickly, I'm really busy now so I won't be back early

And just like that, she sent it

Like it was random message, that was someone's heartfelt confession!

She sat down on the couch as she entered the suite and thought about everything

Donald was sweet, he really was. But she was beginning to think he was with her because of what he was getting from her

Worse, she had no idea what he wanted to use the information for. It didn't make any sense

But love wasn't supposed to make sense either

Claire's stomach rumbled

But she didn't feel like ordering pizza or eating at the hotel.

If Donald was around, he would probably have taken her out

And she knew just the place.

Claire went into the bathroom, took a quick shower, fixed her makeup and drove her car to a restaurant

The exact restaurant her and Donald usually ate at.

It made her feel closer to him in a weird way.

As she drove, she had a strange feeling, but she shrugged it off

She approached the parking lot if the restaurant, and she saw a familiar car

She didn't need glasses to see that it was Donald's car

“Nah, I'm sure tons of guys drive that same car”

There was no way Donald would like to her. He said he was busy at work, so he couldn't be there

If he was then maybe he just organised dinner for his subordinates

As she stepped into the restaurant, her eyes caught sight of the VIP section

Donald was a lavish spender, and they always ate at the VIP section

There was a couple seated there, laughing. The man held her hand from across the table, candy was slowly dragging her to himself

It looked like they were about to kiss

But

The man's hair looked too familiar

And he sounded like someone she knew

It wasn't her mind playing tricks on her, it was real, and she didn't want to believe any part of it

Then he turned his face just a little, and she saw the little scar on his neck

The one she had traced with her fingers over and over again, the one she had kissed several times

There was no denying it anymore

It was Donald—

I felt his eyes move from my face,to my neck, to my cleavage. The robe did what it could—I could feel the heat rising inside of me. He wanted me, I could see it in his eyes. But I had to resist him, I mean we had barely even spent a day.If I was going to make it through in one piece, I needed to get him off my mind. That was the problem precisely. He was Luca Pavilochenki—“Ciao Bella signora!”I looked around for the owner of the squeaky voice, but I couldn't find himThen I looked down. He was standing between us, looking at me like I was the most fascinating thing in the world He was missing a few teeth, probably six or seven years old. And then I remembered the chorus that morning. Could he be one of them?“Well hello”I said, wondering if he had been there the whole time. If he had watched me and Luca grow awkward. But wait, he didn't understand English.I heaved a sigh of relief as I patted him on the headHe smiled at me, his missing teeth making him all the more cuteThen h

Welcome to Italy! The air hostess’ words filtered through space Sharon's mind was far away. Her and Luca hadn't seen each other for hours. No texts, not calls, nothing. He seemed to respect her privacy a little too much She was scared, scared of opening up a wound that didn't properly heal in the first place. She was scared of letting him know about her tragic past, scared letting him see what she had been hiding Nobody knew, not even Claire So she pushed him away—And gosh, she didn't even mean to But like he said, they were strangers. They landed in a private jet terminal in Florence, and walked into the VIP Like strangers, who met by chance on the plane—Immediately they filed the necessary paperwork, they were both met by two tour guides. Their luggage was taken to their respective places of residence It was evening, they were both tired, and things weren't quite settled between them The night was cold, and even the warmth of Italy couldn't shield herSharon looked at h

Sharon's fork fell to the floorHer eyes went blank, and her face was frozen in expression “Sharon I—”“Leave”“What?”“I'm not comfortable— around you”At that moment, Luca realised he had stepped on uncharted territory. Sharon never spoke to him about her nightmares, never gave him an explanation for her post traumatic responsesHe always suspected something, but he never gave in to his curiosity. Never asked, never pried, never raised questions And now, he just ruined a genuine moment, hopefully the first of many to come—By stating that she had a traumatic childhood Luca slowly stood up, with his head bowed “Sharon”“Don't fucking call me that. You're a stranger to me, remember?”Sharon had never spoken to him like that before. Infact she hardly defied him. He usually had his way, somehow. But he was beginning to realise that he hadn't touched the tip of the iceberg And winning her trust, her heart—Was still an abstract thought. One moment he felt like he was making progres

“Hey”“Riann”“Huh?”“Do you usually fall asleep on strangers?”Sharon became aware of her surroundings, and yes, she was sleeping on him Still, she had no idea how she got into that position, since she had been sitting opposite him “I'm sorry”She said, standing up quickly. Like he was the plague“I don't mind, really”She went back to her initial sitting position “No thanks”“Are you hungry Bella?”“No”Sharon folded her arms around her waist, but she couldn't stifle the sound of her stomach growling Luca gave her a comical smile “Will you eat with me?”Sharon sighed. She knew where it was going. He would offer to feed her during the course of their meal, and hold her in a romantic position. And slowly, she would desire his touch, his affection And eventually, they would do it again, and again, and Sharon would slowly fall in love—“No, I don't dine with strangers”Luca pressed a small bell and two waiters walked in with trays of food“It's okay, I'll leave the room for you t

“We will now take off, I urge you to sit tight and make yourselves comfortable”The cheesy voice of the air hostess echoed through Sharon smiled slightly She sat on a plush white cushion, a table was set in front of her with various appetizersLuca was in another room, keeping his word to make things appear like they met on the tripIt was delusional, but cuteTheir first encounter was terrible, their second, even worseAnd now they were just supposed to forget everything, the doubt, the uncertainty, all of itIt was like—A fresh start A sort of do over. They never got to discover anything about each other before they were married, never courted, never had genuine moments Their marriage was like a death sentence, a cross they had to carry, a burden they were straddled with Maybe if they had met under normal circumstances, maybe if they weren't forced into a union, things would've been different For Sharon, it was going to be a journey of self discovery. She was twenty three yea

“You look beautiful”Sharon turned to see Luca standing behind her. He was wearing a plain black shirt, with black pants and loafers. His lips were curled slightly into a smile His eyelashes fanned his deep blue eyes, and his hair was messed up perfectly, adding to his sheer beauty His presence sent shivers through her, and when their eyes met, for a moment, just a moment, they shared something beautiful. It was a fragile feeling, still in it's foetal state. And Sharon wasn't willing to accept it for what it was Not yet—“Thank you”Her eyes slowly darted back to the mirror, and she continued to adjust the band on her hairHe walked closer, so that could hear his breathing behind her, and feel the vibrations in his chest as he spoke “Leave it”“What?”He looked at her from the mirror.“I like your hair free”His hands moved to her head, and slowly, he loosened the bun she was trying so hard to achieve. He used his fingers to straighten them out, and paused for a moment to admire
