“I'm sure you have your hands full Clarette, let me make his coffee

I promise I'll do my best”

Sharon said, holding a white mug in her hands

“Really? You shouldn't worry you know”

“Please, I want to make myself useful”

Sharon said with pleading eyes

“Very well then, I'll be back in a few minutes to serve it”

Sharon watched Clarette leave the kitchen. This was her chance, she had waited so long for this moment

She made the coffee perfectly, remembered everything she learned

She put the right amount of sugar and cream, made it just like Clarette's. It looked good, it smelled good, and tasted like something Clarette had made

everything was set

Courtesy of her few days of apprenticeship

She wore loose pants with pockets, so she could hide the bottle. She made sure she recited her mantra that morning

But immediately she took it out and opened it, her hands shook

Sharon broke into a cold sweat, and she could hear her heart thump

She tried to do it, she was so close. But for some reason, she needed a reason. It was as if at that instant, she had forgotten all the terrible things Luca had done to her

She just couldn't

She heard footsteps, then she quickly covered the bottle and slipped it beck into her pocket

It was Clarette

She was there to serve Luca, and Sharon knew she had missed a golden opportunity. Why she hesitated, she didn't know. She hated him with all her heart, he treated her badly. But when she got the opportunity, she didn't do it

She didn't want to do it

As Sharon watched her take Luca’s breakfast away, she gritted her teeth

She was so close—

But next time, she wouldn't hesitate, she was almost there

******************

Luca’s hands were bruised. His drunken vandalism of the house made sure of that.

Everything he broke was replaced with a news even fancier one. And the servants had cleaned up his mess

But everyone knew he was going to break them again.

He took his mug to his lips. He could feel the strain on his bruised fingers, then he set it down.

There were two servants there to attend to him.

He smacked his face with his palm and let out a loud sigh

“Where's my wife? Tell her I need to see her”

About a minute later, Sharon walked lazily to his table, dragging her feet all the way.

A frown was glued to her face

“Yes, I'm here. What in the world made you to request my presence all of a sudden?”

Luca looked at the two servants and gestured at them to leave.

Then he fixed his eyes on her

His piercing deep blue eyes stared into her, and for a moment, just a brief moment, Sharon felt something she couldn't describe

“Feed me”

Luca said, his eyes still locked on hers

“You must me out of your mind, I'm not going to feed you”

Luca raised his bandaged hands so she could see them

Sharon turned her face away from him

“You could've asked one of the servants it”

“Where's the fun in that?”

A small smile appeared on his lips

He was tormenting her, just for fun

Sharon grabbed a chair and sat next to him.

Then she took his mug in her hand

Was she really doing this?

Sharon could not explain the reason for her actions. She clearly didn't want to, it was as if her body was moving on it's own accord

“Open your mouth” she said as as she took the mug to his lips.

Sharon watched his lips part, watched as the coffee she nearly poisoned went down his throat, studied his jawline while he drank, the curve of his lips, his nape, everything about his facial features.

He was dangerously handsome

Luca guided her hands to set the cup down. She was so lost in thought she forgot she was feeding a person.

“I'm—I’m sorry” she said as she got up.

There was a little coffee stain on his shirt

“I'll launder it for you—”

Luca stood up, his cold expressionless gaze pierced into her.

In the twinkle of an eye, his usual demeanor was back.

It was as if he remembered she was Sharon Gray, the woman he hated so much.

He walked out like nothing ever happened, like he wasn't the same guy a minute ago.

And Sharon had to remind herself of who he was.

He was cold and heartless, he was evil. She didn't understand him.

But there was something else. Something different, something that resembled a silver lining

The unspoken thing that made him not to touch her the night she was drunk, that made him look at her the way he did a moment ago

could she really bring herself to kill him?—

Don't look at me, please. It's not something I'm proud to narrateSharon said, turning her face inches away from himHe let her Sharon twisted her hair to manage her nervousness When I was a child, I used to think I was very lucky. I mean I was born to a rich, influencial family. But as I grew, my parenting became stricter, more complicated. I was made to understand that I had to earn the right to be loved. My mum did her best to encourage me, but she was just a background character. A puppet, my father's puppet. She had no jurisdiction over anything that happened. My dad never hid his hatred for me, and he did everything he could to express it. Sometimes I felt that my mum didn't love me, because she never said anything. Never did anything—Until I grew old enough to understand the severity of the scars I saw on her body. They were very deliberate, and they always took time to heal. My mother was always in pain And later I came to understand that it was my fault, all my fault.Sha

It started with a kiss, a very playful peck on his cheek. Then she gave him a kiss on the lips, but recoiled, thinking it was a bad ideaBut he didn't kiss her back to give her validation. He watched her clumsy movements, and admired them. Her hands travelled from his face, to his jawline. She traced it with her fingers, something she had been dying to do for a long time. Her hands moved to his neckline, then fell on his shirt. She flicked open a button, then another, then her eyes moved to see his reaction He was still, and his facial features revealed neither disdain or approval. But she was having fun. He did say she could touch him however she liked. She ran her fingers over his bare chest. She could feel the change in his heartbeat, but she was just exploring. Her palms gently caressed his abs, and she could feel them tighten“Sharon”He grabbed her hand, and made her look at him“That's enough”He looked sternly into her eyes, with a cold expression on his face.He didn't want

Sharon was so confident on the bus, but all of a sudden, she felt like it was a terrible idea“Would you at least let me in?”Sharon looked around uncomfortably, then she slowly opened the doorHe walked into her apartment, his aura surrounded the place, and the entire house suddenly felt smaller. Everything seemed to revolve around them all of a sudden “What in the world are you wearing?”“It's a onesie!”Sharon said excitedly as she spun around. The oversize piece of clothing hung loose on her figure, making her appear like an overly grown child “You put this on to piss me off, didn't you?”“No seriously, it's just really comfortable”Sharon said clasping her hands around herself “I hate it”“Sharon smiled coquettishly”“I love the fact that you hate it”She turned around, and

“Ponte Vecchio is a beautiful place, I assure you you'll have a splendid time”Sharon nodded. She looked out the window of the tourist bus, her eyes were fixated on the scenery, but her mind was somewhere elseShe was thinking about him Apparently, her tour was slightly different from his, so while she was going to see the great ponte Vecchio, he was going to Sicily. He had texted her that morning that they weren't going to see each other, probably till the end of the day.So she was stuck with Georgia And that was painfully depressing. She had the unrepressible urge to be with him, to feel him wrap his arms around herBut it was just her wishful thinking “Lost in thought huh?”“Um, yeah I guess”Sharon said, bringing her attention back to reality “It's the Italy effect”“The what?”“The Italy effect. This place has a way of changing people, some say you'll never be the same person that came here, when you're leaving—”“That's the second most ridiculous thing I've ever heard”“Re
