SHARON POV

Six foot two, jet black hair, a jawline that could cut through glass and dark blue eyes that carried all kinds of emotions. His face was so evenly proportioned that it could land him on the cover of Vogue.

The aura around him was different. He walked different.

But that gave him no fucking right to shove me like I was second hand furniture.

I waited, hell I did. He was definitely going to follow the same route on his way back and I was going to give him a piece of my mind, I didn't care if he was Apollo or Zeus reincarnated, he had no right—

He was coming my direction, completely oblivious to me, he probably didn't realise what he did to me, or was too much of an idiot to apologise.

I hated his type, the ones that felt entitled, felt like they could step on the less fortunate. But I wasn't less fortunate and I wasn't going to take it.

I hurriedly walked past him and pushed him with all the strength I had in my shoulders, then I turned back to look at him. His reaction was the mood booster I needed

“Next time you look where you're going you asshole!”

He realised at that moment, that the person he hit earlier existed

“You know whores aren't meant to talk much.”

“I'm not a whore, my name is Riann!”

Sharon Gray almost slipped out of my mouth at that moment. I wanted to say it so badly, wanted him to know that I wasn't less fortunate, that I wasn't a whore, but I couldn't.

He looked down at me, and sized me up.

I wasn't short, but I wasn't particularly tall. I had never felt more insecure.

“Well Riann, go dance on a pole!”

He whispered in my ear.

I think I spilled my drink on him after that. I felt so much hatred for him.

I remember him taking another drink because he couldn't slap me in front of so many people, I remember refilling mine.

Then the rest was really fuzzy.

When I woke up the next day, I was in a strange bed, and the asshole was in it. I wanted to tear my eyes out of their sockets.

The look on his face when he realised it was me was one so cold and demeaning, it made me want to cry.

“ You know, I've done a lot of stupid things, but having a one night stand with a degenerate like you has got to be the worst of them all”

He didn't even look at my face, whatever hatred I had for him before had just quadrupled.

“And if you were the last man on earth, I'd be celibate! If we weren't both drunk, I'd sue you for statutory rape!”

I hurriedly put on my clothes and slammed the door on my wall out.

I was looking for an escape, but I felt more trapped.

How could a person be so dark and cold, I never wanted to set my eyes on him again.

****************

When Claire saw me, she gasped. Apparently she had been looking for me. I fell into her arms because she was the only support system I had.

The tears left my eyes and I cried silently. She didn't even ask questions, she just knew.

“No more drinking for you princess, you're officially grounded.”

I almost laughed, then I don't really remember what happened next

“I had terrible times too.”

Claire said when she put me inside my car and took the wheel.

“My mother had this guy, I think he was her boyfriend. I don't remember exactly how old I was, I was eight or so, was it nine?

Doesn't matter”

She stopped, like she was trying to remember her own story.

“He usually came over when she was around, they would do whatever they wanted to do and he would leave. But he began to stay longer, even when my mum wasn't around.”

I had a feeling of where this was going, but i just hoped to be wrong.

“He would then come to my room to play with me, then our games got more serious.”

I could see the seriousness in her eyes.

“Then one day—”

“What happened Claire.” l asked.

She eyed me cautiously.

“What the fuck happened?”

“He shoved his dick out of his pants, and I poked it with my sharpest pencil. I threatened to tell the neighbours the truth if he tried to punish me, or cook up a different story.”

I sighed with the littlest relief.

“Do you know why?”

“You didn't want to be violated?”

“No, I was violated, I had been violated many times, I just wanted to prove a point”

“Which is?”

“Men are scum!”

Nodding my head, I agreed with her.

“Men-are-scum”

“Your arranged marriage husband is probably scum, that asshole that got you laid is also scum—”

She went on and on.

I had not the slightest idea that my life was would soon get very interesting.

I mean I was born to a rich, influencial family. But as I grew, my parenting became stricter, more complicated. I was made to understand that I had to earn the right to be loved. My mum did her best to encourage me, but she was just a background character. A puppet, my father's puppet. She had no jurisdiction over anything that happened. My dad never hid his hatred for me, and he did everything he could to express it. Sometimes I felt that my mum didn't love me, because she never said anything. Never did anything—Until I grew old enough to understand the severity of the scars I saw on her body. They were very deliberate, and they always took time to heal. My mother was always in pain And later I came to understand that it was my fault, all my fault.Sha

It started with a kiss, a very playful peck on his cheek. Then she gave him a kiss on the lips, but recoiled, thinking it was a bad ideaBut he didn't kiss her back to give her validation. He watched her clumsy movements, and admired them. Her hands travelled from his face, to his jawline. She traced it with her fingers, something she had been dying to do for a long time. Her hands moved to his neckline, then fell on his shirt. She flicked open a button, then another, then her eyes moved to see his reaction He was still, and his facial features revealed neither disdain or approval. But she was having fun. He did say she could touch him however she liked. She ran her fingers over his bare chest. She could feel the change in his heartbeat, but she was just exploring. Her palms gently caressed his abs, and she could feel them tighten“Sharon”He grabbed her hand, and made her look at him“That's enough”He looked sternly into her eyes, with a cold expression on his face.He didn't want

Everything seemed to revolve around them all of a sudden “What in the world are you wearing?”“It's a onesie!”Sharon said excitedly as she spun around. The oversize piece of clothing hung loose on her figure, making her appear like an overly grown child “You put this on to piss me off, didn't you?”“No seriously, it's just really comfortable”Sharon said clasping her hands around herself “I hate it”“Sharon smiled coquettishly”“I love the fact that you hate it”She turned around, and

“Ponte Vecchio is a beautiful place, I assure you you'll have a splendid time”Sharon nodded. She looked out the window of the tourist bus, her eyes were fixated on the scenery, but her mind was somewhere elseShe was thinking about him Apparently, her tour was slightly different from his, so while she was going to see the great ponte Vecchio, he was going to Sicily. He had texted her that morning that they weren't going to see each other, probably till the end of the day.So she was stuck with Georgia And that was painfully depressing. She had the unrepressible urge to be with him, to feel him wrap his arms around herBut it was just her wishful thinking “Lost in thought huh?”“Um, yeah I guess”Sharon said, bringing her attention back to reality “It's the Italy effect”“The what?”“The Italy effect. This place has a way of changing people, some say you'll never be the same person that came here, when you're leaving—”“That's the second most ridiculous thing I've ever heard”“Re
