The bar they entered was nestled among a vibrant street full of other establishments, each showing off its unique ambiance at night. As Ryu and Yuka strolled through the lively crowd, they observed people lingering outside the various bars, engrossed in conversations, puffing on cigarettes, or quietly contemplating whether it was time to call it a night. The bar was just ahead, and Ryu gestured to the left, pointing out the entrance of the bar. With a shy expression, Yuka thanked him as he courteously held the door open for her. Ryu took the train on the way home. He walked the street on the way to his apartment. It was a cold night. He felt the wind blowing against his hot face. He smiled and liked how soothing it felt. When he arrived at the apartment, he pulled his keys from his pocket and entered. The lights were turned off as he walked in. Ryu wondered if Yuka was already on her way home and if he should have just approached her and asked her to go home with him. He took off his shoes as he turned on the lights. He walked inside and found Yuka sleeping on the sofa. She was still wearing the same clothes when he saw her tonight. Ryu immediately switched off the light and switched on the light in the Kitchen instead to avoid waking up Yuka. "Hey, Yuka!" Kumi greeted as she walked towards Yuka's desk. "Hey," Yuka responded with a smile. "Are you coming to the company dinner later?" Yuka was confused at first but remembered that her boss told her something about a company dinner but she was too busy at that time that she didn't even bother to pay attention and just nodded in response. "It's not like we have a choice," Kumi whispered with a laugh. Although it wasn't mandatory to attend the after-work dinner or party, there was already that unspoken rule that everybody needs to attend unless they are in a life-and-death situation that they need to excuse themselves. That night Yuka went to bed and Ryu continued to work on an upcoming project proposal for the week. After a night out drinking with his friends, Ryu would usually continue working when he gets home. For him, the adrenaline and serotonin from the alcohol he consumed helped his creativity and productivity when creating music. Maybe that's also a reason why he never sees himself working in the corporate industry. It was three-thirty in the morning and Ryu is still working. He decided to take a break and smoke when he realized he was already out of it. He pulled out a jacket from his cabinet and took his keys and wallet before heading out to the nearest convenience store. Yuka these are my bandmates and friends Tomo and Ishi." Nato said. "Hi, Yuka!" Said Tomo. "Nice to meet you," Ishi said smiling from across the room where they were seating."We are about to finish the meeting. We are planning to head out and have dinner tonight. Do you want to come?" Nato asked Yuka. Yuka was hesitant to answer. "Of course, you have to. We need to celebrate you moving to a new apartment." Nato said smiling before Yuka could respond. "Did you just move to the city?" Tomo asked Yuka out of curiosity. "Yes, actually she is Ryu's new roommate," Nato explained. Ryu pretended to be busy grabbing things to avoid any reaction seen from him. "Really? You're in good hands then." "Buzz.. Buzz.." Ryu was woken up by the doorbell ringing. He reached for his phone and checked the time, it was only nine in the morning. He was supposed to wake up around two in the afternoon. After drinking out with Nato last night, he wouldn't even bother to eat breakfast. He wondered if he had any deliveries or anyone coming over but he was still too sleepy to even bother thinking. I'm Yuka, you're new roommate. I tried calling Nato since he was supposed to take me here, but he wouldn't answer so I just went straight to the address that he gave me." He reached into his pocket for money hoping that he had enough for the vending machine. There's no way he walked fifteen minutes just to get nothing.
