I really should’ve listened to Dominic when he told me not to go outside. My nose picks up Henry’s scent, the scent of mildew, dust, trees and a lot of pollen. I slowly open my eyes, and Henry is the first thing I see.

He is sitting on the other side of the table, his eyes on his phone. I try to move my hands, but they are tied to my back.

“Well, well, well, Princess Esther,” he says in his British accent. He doesn’t look up from his phone, but he is looking at me through his peripheral vision. “The love of my life.“

“Henry,” I say weakly, trying to figure out how we arrived here so fast and where the hell we are. How long have we been travelling?

“Oh! You remember me?” He places his phone on the table.

“What do you want?” I glare at him.

“We’ll get to that part, soon. We need to catch up first. We haven’t seen each other in centuries. You look paler and really weak.”

“You injected me with the ghost orchid?” I ask to confirm.

“Yes,” he nods. "Think of it as a sedative.
