CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE

Sarah smiled when she saw that professor Ericson's wolf didn't flinch. His gaze was set on something behind her. Whatever it was, she thought, it was trivial and not worth her attention. It was even possible that there was nothing at all and professor Ericson wanted her attention diverted so that he could pull the same dirty trick Dr. Peyton had on Francis.

“Three seconds is all I'm giving you,” she said. The smile was slowly replaced with an intimidating scowl.

One tense and stiff second turned to two and two to three. Professor Ericson's wolf didn't move an inch away from where it was because professor Ericson hadn't told it to. It believed firmly in professor Ericson and its gaze was still fixed on what was behind Sarah.

The scowl on Sarah's face was once again replaced by a smile. One that spread from one end of her oval and well crafted face to the other.
