Nyx's POV

It's been over thirty minutes and Kieran hasn't say a word. His face was completely pale and his body? Somewhat lifeless. I could feel my heart racing with fear and anxiety. Fear of what could happen if Kieran never wake up. The thought of that alone sent a sudden chill down my spine.

I had been so sure that the combination of the tree bark and the other herbs I saw in the book would work, but now I wasn't so sure. I don't even know what to think.

"What if I've made a mistake?" I thought to myself, my mind racing with doubts. "What if this doesn't work?"

I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I couldn't give up now, not when Kieran's life was hanging in the balance. I quickly got to work, mixing the tree bark with the other supplies and administering the concoction to Kieran.

I waited for the medicine to take effect, I couldn't help but think about how close I had come to losing Kieran. I had been so focused on finding a cure that I hadn't stopped to think about
