Kieran's POV

I coughed once again, trying to cover it up, but Nyx attention was now focused on me. She looked at me with concern—a concern that made my heart kicked with love towards her.

“Your condition has gotten worse, Kieran,” she stated, sitting beside me on the king-sized bed. “It must be because of the atmosphere in this pack.” She noted and I nodded my head, quite agreeing with her.

She trailed a hand across my chest, rubbing it to calm me from the way I was breathing. In just a matter of minutes, I have had several bouts of cough. But it wasn't just an ordinary cough, this is an entirely different cough—it's the kind of cough that comes with blood. Despite how much pain I was feeling in my chest, I didn't want to show it. I didn't want Nyx to get worried, I hate seeing those worry lines on her face.

“I think there's only one way to stop you from inhaling the air in this pack,” Nyx mumbled.

My brows creased in sudden curiosity. “And what would that be?”
