Gwen's POV “Come here, my cutie pie!” He squealed with laughter. He suddenly dragged me into his arms, his strength overpowered my struggles underneath him as he wrapped his arms around me tightly. Why was he hugging and laughing at me when he had just hugged Nora a few minutes ago? Was he supposed to hug her when he had me? We already discussed it but it still felt… that's just ridiculous! I felt another surge of emotion explode within me as tears just streamed down my face effortlessly, I was literally crying like a baby against his chest. “Not again, Gwen!” I heard him say as he patted my back. “I know right? I shouldn't but I can't help it!” I uttered with a hoarse voice. His suddenly tight hug made me feel the need to cry again. This felt like he was consoling me from something, I had to cry to make everything fall into place besides the frustration and hurt from these past few days were just getting to me. I'm sorry, I shouldn't but I just can't help it! “Okay, Gwen why d
Gwen’s POV It was after midnight, following a night out at the movies, that Alpha Blake and I made our way home. The car headlights cut through the darkness, making the twisty road light up before wending its way home, back into the pack’s territory, it had been exactly what we both needed as it offered a brief respite from the tension building between us. I and Alpha Blake talked about the movie, we laughed at the good parts and the funny scenes, and for some hours everything seemed okay and normal again. As Alpha Blake turned toward the gate of the pack's compound, Alpha Blake slowed the car a bit, a scowl furrowing his face and his eyes narrowing in confusion. Standing by the gate was Nora. Her figure was illuminated by the car's headlights. Seeing her, my heart sank, my earlier worries and concerns returning.Alpha Blake tossed his car into park, then turned to me, whose brow I could see furrowing in the driver’s seat. "What's she doing here?"I shook my head as a mix of frus
Gwen’s POV I felt the flutter of anticipation at the question of whether or not I was part of his future. The question hung in the air, and Alpha Blake's eyes went soft. He opened his mouth to respond but then he glanced at Nora, who stood a few steps away, her eyes were filled with a mixture of sadness and longing. Alpha Blake hesitated once again, the words catching in his throat."Alpha Blake?" my voice was barely above a whisper, it was laced with hope and anxiety.Alpha Blake dragged his attention away from Nora to look at me. His face twisted in agony since he knew that the words spoken would determine our future, and shatter Nora a bit more. "Gwen, can we talk about this some other time? Please, it's…..complicated."My smile faltered as confusion and hurt clouded my eyes. "What do you mean, Alpha Blake? Why can't you just answer me?"Alpha Blake sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration, before he said, "Gwen, it's not as easy as you think. There are things you
Gwen’s POVThe next morning, I woke up to an empty bed, the sheets cold and undisturbed beside me. Slowly, I got into a seating position, the obvious fact that Alpha Blake hadn't returned washed over me, hitting me like a wave. I looked across at the clock on the nightstand, it was already late in the morning. With a sigh, I swung my legs slowly over to the edge of the bed and stood up, feeling a mix of disappointment and determination.I was about to go directly to Alpha Blake's room when my maids, in their nightgowns, intercepted me at the doorway. "Good morning, lady Gwen," Elgiva said cheerfully. "We have drawn your bath for you."I shook my head. "I don't have time for that right now. I want to see Alpha Blake."Aurelia moved forward, her expression gentle, yet firm. "Lady Gwen, it’s important you take care of yourself first. You will feel so much better after a bath."She saidMy irritation and frustration were obvious in my expression, but I knew they were right. I alwa
Blake’s POVI stood under the warm stream of the shower, the water tumbling down over my lean, muscular form. I had taken longer than normal, trying to still my racing thoughts. I knew I should be in Gwen's room, holding her, assuring her of my commitment, but I hesitated. My heart ached with longing, yet my mind was preoccupied with worry. I feared losing my control, feared that my desire might overpower my resolve. Finally, I shut off the water and got out, wrapping a towel around my waist. I caught my partial reflection in the mirror, and the look in my eyes was troubled. I shook my head and grabbed another towel to dry my hair. The desire to be with Gwen was overpowering, but I had to handle the situation carefully.I padded toward Gwen's room in comfortable nightwear. My footsteps were silent on the wooden floor. I Stopped outside her door, my hand lifted to knock, but again, I didn't. What if she was mad at me because I hadn't come earlier? Taking a deep breath, I knocke
Gwen's POV The door of the pack hall suddenly opened as I looked up to see Alpha Blake with a serious glare. “Are you okay, Gwen?” He asked me, looking concerned.“Yeah, I am fine! They won't just let me enter even when I ask them politely!” I whined, feigning annoyance and an innocent act before Blake. “You don't ask Gwen, you command! You are the future Luna! My Luna!” He addressed me before turning to the guards by the door with a stern look.“And what insolent act from you was that towards your Luna? Or don't you think your Luna should be current about the issues going on in the pack?” He addressed them.“We are sorry, Alpha Blake!” They apologize, repeatedly bowing. Alpha Blake gestured for me to walk over. I gave the guards a strict glare before walking into the pack hall with a step that was bouncing and it radiated my happiness in each stride. I must say it seemed like the meeting was in full swing with the elders in deep discussion. As we walked further into the hall, I
Gwen's POV I filled my plate with Mac and cheese as I quickly took a spoonful of my meal. The delicious spread before us was with it. Blake slowly ate into his fresh salad which I was considering eating later after eating the roasted chicken placed in the center of the table then maybe the hearty stew beside it. The air was still filled with the comforting aroma of the food before us as I was literally tasting it in my mouth. I looked around me and then focused my gaze on Blake whose demeanor I couldn't read. He looked upset but not upset, instead relaxed and I didn't want to provoke him or open up to something I didn't like. “Isn't this lunch amazing?” I asked him before taking another bite of my creamy Mac and cheese. “Yeah, it is!” He replied dryly without looking at me. “I wish I had a hand in preparing all this! I will be more proud when eating it but the amazing kitchen staff of this prestigious pack house did a beautiful job! All thanks to them!” I uttered, unable to close
Gwen's POV I looked out the window which was dark as I watched the garden, surprisingly there wasn't any thought running around in my head. Just then, there was a sudden knock on the door. I was going to ignore it when the knock came again. I was forced to go walk to the door where I opened it to see a young lady who bowed immediately when she saw me. “What do you want?” I asked her, looking left and right. Wondering what she was doing down by her room without anyone but her daughter after a while. “Alpha Blake asked that you be escorted to his room where you will be having dinner!” She explained without looking at my face. “Oh really? Just a minute!” I uttered in excitement before excusing myself. I was so fluttered with excitement as I dressed up then walked out of the room, the young lady leading me to his room. I was eager to see him as the rest of the day's events after the lunch we had together had left me feeling so restless and blank. So I was looking forward to this peace
