AIDEN'S POV

" Tell me Mr Macauley.... what are your plans?" I asked the man in front of me as we sat down to a business lunch at the restaurant of one of his hotels.

They had reached out to Ingrid's a few weeks concerning a collaboration in the business industry.

"Here's the business proposal" he handed a file to me over the table.

" It's quite hefty" I replied as I sized it up.

" It is well detailed " he replied as he took a sip of his glass of water.

As I glanced through it , my mind went back to my encounter with grandma Gloria. How she had followed me out of the event hall when I stepped out to receive that call from Chloe.

For the first time in a very long time I froze and was scared.

"Who was that on the phone?" She had asked

I knew that I mustn't let her find out about this, I couldn't afford too. The Whitfield's family are off limit but look at me fraternizing with them, keeping them in my corner. I was all over their business.

She asked all at once I wasn't even surprised that she knows about this.
