"I thought finding out you were a fox meant no more secrets." Cassar frowned at me.

I belted out a laugh. When I calmed down enough to speak I looked back at him. I wiped a fake tear from my eye. "Oh honey, you know nothing."

He frowned but didn't comment, not pressing me for more details. Which I appreciated. He brought the conversation back to our initial topic. "Now some of the council are pissed that you are a fox."

"Why tell them at all?"

Cassar walked to the window, contemplating. "The sooner they know, the sooner they will get over it."

"Wow, your pack really has a thing against foxes." I mused. "It's not surprising, but still."

"Only some," Cassar explained. "A lot of them are old school. They still believe that wolves are the dominant creature."

The way Cassar said it, it was clear that he did not agree. That he was almost embarrassed by them.
