MIA'S POV

Jaret did it again. He had gone too far.

Kathy rescued Mom. She managed to call her after Jaret left her badly beaten.

"Oh, God! Mom." She was in the intensive care unit and underwent some immediate operation for her broken rib and a fractured wrist. Mom was covered with bruises, and her left eye swelled, making it hard for her to open it when I called her name.

"Mia...," her lips quivered. Mom kept her lips sealed. A cut on the side of her lips prevents her from opening her mouth. Her tears stream on the side of her eyes. I pulled a tissue from the table and wiped it.

"Ines' car won't start again, so Carl offered to ride her home. Apparently, Jaret was still in your house and saw them. He got jealous and beat your Mom. Luckily, she was able to call me." Kathy explained and handed me a dozen pictures, "You can use this as evidence to put Jaret behind bars. I took that picture earlier. Also, if you need the hospital record, I could give it to you as long as you keep that m
