Jimmy scoffed in disbelief and shook his head. Alex Fraser licked his lips slightly and started walking toward the direction of his suite where Rainee left.

After entering his room, he saw Rainee Garcia removing her earrings with an expression that was far from pleasant. He closed the door and walked closer, speaking in an unusually soft voice.

“Rainee, listen to me. I didn’t mean to--”

“Why did you do it?!” Rainee snapped, her voice sharp with frustration. “Did I give you permission to kiss me? When did I ever agree to take this drama that far?! Do I look stupid to you? Don’t think you can take advantage of me just because I agreed to help you.”

Alex stood in front of her with a dull expression, not interrupting. He let her vent because something inside him twisted painfully at the sight of her anger. His heart ached even more when he noticed the faint shimmer of tears in her eyes. He was stunned, it was the first time he had ever seen her cry.
