Nadia.

I don’t know what reaction I was expecting from Ares, but him chuckling and saying nothing was definitely not part of the options.

I watched as he pulled out his phone, and then after some seconds, slow, gentle music started to play out of speakers I didn’t even notice before now. After glancing around, I saw that they were coming from the ceiling.

How perfect! All the shifters were working for the Devil and his family’s comfort.

“Once the opening ball ends, the dance starts from how you waltz into the dance floor with your partner,” Ares started, and then stretched his hands out.

I glanced at his hands suspiciously, took a deep breath, and then joined him at the center of the room.

With one tug at my arm, Ares pulled me in, and his scent filled my nostrils.

Vanilla. That was surprising, but there were notes of citrus and some musk that balanced it out.

I felt my heart thumping against my chest as he twirled me and then brought me into his arms again in one quick swe
