Falling deeper for you

"Wait, Ezra" I murmur.

"Hmm?" He responds.

I sigh and lean forward, brushing his lips with mine.

"Thank you for telling me. But I need you to understand that nothing you say tonight is going to change how I feel. If anything, you made me fall even harder for you."

I say the last part in my most reassuring voice and Ezra grins.

"Okay." He murmurs softly.

"Okay?" I repeat incredulously.

"Alright, I won't push anymore questions. But promise me that if you ever want to talk about it, you'll come to me. No matter what, okay?" I ask anxiously.

"Of course" He replies.

"Now come on, let's finish this mystery story before we go to bed" He adds, pulling me closer to kiss me once more.

As we read through the rest of the book, I find myself starting to relax and laugh at all the ridiculous plot points, enjoying watching Ezra's reaction.
