Chapter 46

“I am sorry. I am late.” I apologise to the teacher before entering the class. She doesn’t pay any attention to me and continues with her class. I take the first empty seat that I find. I pant in my seat, the exertion from running and climbing the stairs finally catching up to me. My chest hurt with every deep breath that I took. My calves were on fire, and my side felt like it had a million needles stabbing it. I was sweating, my body trying to get back to its normal condition.  

“Excuse me.” I hear another voice say. I look up to see that it was Luke who entered. Looks like I wasn’t the only one who was running late. 

He walks in my general direction, and for a second I think he is going to take a seat beside me. I give him a smile as a greeting. He glares at me and completely ignores the empty seat beside me. A frown graces my face. I look behind me to see where he was seated, and I notice that he was sitting with C
