Memory Lane

As Noah stood in the middle of the large clearing his eyes glazed as past memories flooded him. Beneath him was a bloodied male, his arms were broken in multiple places, it was a surprise this person was even alive.

Looking at the defeated look on the individual's face, Noah didn't feel happiness. He only thought of his beautiful sister. She was maybe the only thing that kept him moving in this camp.

In truth, the teenager had never delved quite deep into Martial arts before. He had learnt it for self protection only and because his family forced him to. His family... Noah belonged to a family of militants, with unending loyalty to the government. The amount of blood that had been spilled because of that family was really too much, he wanted nothing with that.

Of course, to a family of cold blooded Martial artists, such an attitude was unbecoming of their blood. Especially when the attitude came from a genius of the family. They resorted to many means, torture being one of them, surprisingly the young Noah's will was exceptionally tough, he refused to accept any of their condition and continued half-heartedly practicing Martial arts.

Finally, they grasped upon his weak point. His sister. The only kind soul in that God forsaken place, the only person who sought to care for him and his only real family. They threatened to kill her, going as far as to cut off her wrist just to force him to join one of the world's toughest Martial camps. Noah knew this was their goal from the beginning. As long as he did well within the camp, the family's status would be boosted, leaving the position of foot soldiers and finally reaching the round table that hosted the decision makers.

He had no choice, he joined the camp and placed all of his heart into Martial arts in hopes that they would leave her be.

So here he was, in the final exams of his first year for the Blood Sea camp. The exam was, of course, in the form of a battle. Out of the few ten thousands that reached this camp, only one thousand would remain through a method of elimination on this island.

"Get him!" The people surrounding him gulped in fear but still charged forward. They knew that he was one of the most dangerous students in this camp but they also had to pass this exam, if they didn't their family would easily just replace them.

Noah's apathetic eyes glanced at all of them and assumed a stance.

Berserk Tiger Martial Art: Sweep.

His body crouched and swung out with his leg at their ankles. The people at the front of the mass stumbled and fell to the ground. The students behind them cared little for the ones that fell, they kept running forward even if it meant trampling on their bodies. They only had their bloodshot eyes on the dangerous Noah, their will trying as hard as it could to mask their fear.

The teen's face showed no change. His hands balled to form a fist as he assumed another stance. Berserk Tiger's Punch!

The unlucky person to receive that furious fist coughed up a large amount of blood as that punch directly ruptured her heart.

Noah's actions didn't stop as he caught a fist flying towards him. His body twisted as he threw the owner of that fist upwards before slamming them down on the ground so hard, they were engraved into it. It was unknown if that person was alive or not.

Suddenly, multiple people jumped from behind him, aiming to attack while he was busy. Yet, he seemed to have expected this. His body twisted as his hand formed a claw sign. Berserk Tiger Art: Predator's Kill Spree!

After that, the teen's body turned into a blur as he rushed forth with his claw shaped hands, attacking all around him. The move seemed to strengthen his nails into that of an actual tiger's claw. The students simply had no way to defend themselves. A few minutes later, Noah stood in the now silent clearing, panting lightly as he rested upon a rock not bothered by the multiple bodies around him. He waited for the Impetus within his body to refill before he stood up once more and walked forward in an almost mechanical way. 'Soon sis. Soon.'

So Noah kept on moving forward, killing like a machine and only resting when he needed to. This continued for a while before he met a familiar face. It was the only person he had met till now that could be on par with him within the first year students on camp. "Ian Lark."

"Noah Da Silver, my good friend. Come let's share some wine." Ian smiled at his indifferent peer and raised his hands which held a cup of wine.

This caused the indifferent Noah to raise his brow. "You knew the island we were having the exam on?"

Ian shook his head as he laughed. "Hell no, dude. That's impossible, that kind of shit isn't even known by our instructors. I just placed a stash on all 4 islands surrounding the camp."

Noah's lips twitched. "Don't you have better things to do?"

Ian gave an offended expression. "How dare you. What could be better than good wine? Well, since you're here..." He downed the wine and leapt to his feet. "Come let's have another spar."

Noah frowned. "What are you up to Ian?"

The latter smiled calmly. "Nothing."

"You seem to not want me to continue on my journey though." The indifferent teen sported a furrowed brow as a threatening aura left his body fueled by a large amount of Impetus. "I can see it, the people around you aren't dead, they're just knocked out." The latter still stayed quiet, a calm smile on his lips. "What do you know that I don't?"

Ian shook his head. "I'd rather not talk, it would be better for you to find out on your own. Don't worry Noah, the Blood Sea Council will still allow us to pass, we're just sparring while other people do the work for us. It's better to not have too much guilt on your shoulders when this is over"

Noah glanced at the mysterious teen before him with a complicated expression before finally nodding and assuming his Martial Arts stance.

  • Path of a Monarch   Luck

Unfortunately Noah wouldn't think of such a minor detail. He didn't know much about the aspect of the Battlesoul world called Soul force. Only experts at the Grandmaster Stage would dare engage in a soul battle and even then, they would protect their Soul forms so that no unnecessary bits of their soul would be lost. Noah and Alyssa had just gotten lucky. The Devilsoul master barely possessed a hundredth of his original strength so the duo could win after putting up a hard fight. Sadly, they had lost a significant amount of Soul force and would have to rest for a period of time as they didn't possess Wills or even Intents to restore their Soul force so they could only wait for their souls to recover naturally. Luckily, the duo possessed Emperor Grade Battlesouls so it wouldn't take much time to gain their battle strength again, although they wouldn't be able to strain themselves much.Noah hesitated for a while but still spoke as he faced Alyssa. "Why did you save me back there?"The

  • Path of a Monarch   Memories

Noah opened his eyes to be greeted by a weird scene. His body seemed to be in the sky as he gazed down at a happy trio. The two standing side by side were an adult couple. The man possessed black hair and hazel colored eyes with average features you could find anywhere on the streets. The woman, on the other hand, was actually quite beautiful, possessing silky black hair and bright blue eyes. Her features were simply heaven-defying, any normal man would immediately drop to their feet seeing this beauty. This kind of woman could only be a noble.Yet Noah could see that this two, the man who was most definitely a commoner and a noble woman, were together as married couples. The reason was because of the three years old girl that was playing about in the field before them, trying her best to catch a small bird sized Phoenix. Looking at her face, it was easy to see that the child had taken her features from her mother. The cuteness emitted from her face could cause any father to fly over

  • Path of a Monarch   Victory?

Evan's expression was grim as he looked at the duo before him. He was very sure he could succeed in killing one of them, but that would inevitably lead to his death. His thoughts raced as he thought of ways to escape his precarious situation.Unfortunately Noah and Alyssa didn't give him so much time.Knowing that her partner was weak, Alyssa took the initiative to rush forward to occupy Evan's time, allowing Noah to rest a bit. On passing him, no one noticed that a few of the lights drifting from Noah's soul form were absorbed by her.Dark Angel Sword: Hell's Judgment.A large beam was launched at Evan but he was quick to raise a shield composed of fire to block the attack. He gritted his teeth and clenched his hand, risking his soul once more to execute his former techniques. "Blazing Meteor!" At his call, multiple meteors appeared above Alyssa's flying figure to strike her down. Seeing this, she immediately chose to fully transform into her Phoenix form, utilizing its amazing dext

  • Path of a Monarch   Battle of attrition

Noah's figure blurred as he dashed forward with Dragon Steps. He had found out that everything he could use even in his past life could be used here within the Soul world as long as his body had form. Because of this, this skill was brought to its former glory.Unlike the times when he used the skill, instead of reinforcing his legs with blood essence, a strange energy wrapped around him and brought him forward with tremendous speed reaching 200 meters per second! This was more than half the speed of sound! On Earth, Martial arts training could be divided into two stages; Internal Force and External Force. The former dealt with the strengthening of one's body and internal organs while the latter could materialize one's life force to attack. These two stages were very hard to set foot in. More than half of Martial arts practitioners failed to get into the Internal Force stage and half of that number couldn't get into the External Force stage. But Noah did.Dragon Fist Cannon!Unlike th

  • Path of a Monarch   Devilsoul Master

Of course before arriving at the Ruins of a famous Battlesoul master, anybody would research about him.Evan Hills was a member of one of the Great Houses, the Hills House. He was actually an average Battlesoul master, someone with a low General Grade Battlesoul, someone who would most likely never touch upon the Exalt Stage.Yet he did. And splendidly so.He had managed to forcefully evolve his Battlesoul into one that barely counted as a Marquis Grade Battlesoul. With this, he was able to advance into the Exalt Stage. And from then, he showcased his new talent, showcasing his strength. The process of this was quite confusing but many guessed that maybe his Family had spent a large amount of resources on him, after all, it was a Great House. But now Noah understood. What evolution? What bullshit resources?! What genius?!Evan Hills was a Devilsoul master!Luke had spent a lot of time explaining this group of people to Noah. Devilsoul masters were people who possessed attributes that
