Aria’s pov

Following Darian up a curved stone staircase I was hesitant about sleeping on the same floor as him. Reaching the second floor I noticed Mora entering one of the doors.

When she glanced back and saw me her eyes narrowed at Darian then returned to me full of haughtiness.

“Why aren't you dead? Where is she going, Darian?!”

“I'm showing her to a room to use, Mora.”

Throwing a tantrum the woman screeched and slammed the door of the room where she had opened the door.

“Her ro

Malrik's pov Helena's icy lips pressed against mine as her hips rubbed against me, trying to get a rise. It was the same coldness that happened almost nightly and I'd grown weary of it. I furrowed my brow as I shoved her off my lap. “No! You're not my warmth. Be gone with you. Go return to my grandfather's bed, and pleasure him,” I snarled bitterly then glanced around for Aria. “The bitch froze your brain,” Isolfr, my Dire Wolf groaned. Standing quickly, I ran out of my room and then outside to my courtyard, calling out for my guards. “Bring me Jasper and the woman that is with him!” Killian, my head guard came up to me and said, “Jasper returned to inform us he was leaving with the woman then took off before we could tell him that Ironclaw warriors had invaded your lands with Ian Harrison leading. I believe that they walked into a trap.” Furrowing my brow I snorted and told him Jasper would keep her safe and not be so gullible. “Ian has returned with his troops?” I cr

Aria's pov We were stopped in the hall by none other than Jasper. I gave him a scathing glare as he told Malrik to stop and think with his head and not his dick. “Your grandfather must accept her first,” he added and I huffed. “I'm not mating with a grandpa,” I growled sourly and they both looked horrified. “No Aria, that's not what Jasper meant. My grandfather is Balder and he must be pleased with my choice of mate,” Malrik asserted to Jasper. “Did you tell him about Ronan's collection of wolf furs?!” I interrupted causing Malrik to eye me strangely. “I have just seen his highness, Aria and I have no new knowledge about Ronan's fur wall,” Jasper growled. “What is she talking about, Jasper? Is that psycho at it again?!” Rubbing his eyes, Jasper told Malrik that he should get dressed, and they could all discuss everything. Disappointment filled my eyes as Malrik brushed my cheek. “My grandfather will adore you and I will give you my mark before you leave here,” he

Aria's pov Following Jasper's trail was proving more difficult the further it went. Grinding my molars at the horrendous terrain I was mildly impressed by the tiny man. I had been walking the entire day and the sky was starting to darken. “Do you think he will rest for the night or continue?” I questioned Ashina who told me she had no idea. Readjusting my cloak to conceal my sigil I stomped onward. Frustrated, I continued using my sense of smell to follow after the petite man feeling as if I would never arrive until I reached an incline. Climbing up, my calves burned, but the strong scent of pine assaulted my senses, and I smiled. “Come get me, I'm trespassing on the Dire Wolf King's land!” I shouted as I stepped into the dense forest and the vegetation crunched under my feet. Tilting my head to listen for guards in the area, I continued walking through the woods, despite exhaustion striking me. “Should I find a place to nap?” I asked Ashina. “Once you get through the treeli

Aria's pov After being introduced to everyone I was surprised by how many were from the Ironclaw Pack. Ronan had exiled many of his pack members, both male and female. Many of them knew my mom and had heard tales about me. Wisdom had invited me to stay in her cave, which was filled with the same herb-filled jars as her sisters. I joined her when the hour grew late. Spreading out my cloak on the pine needle mat, I prepared my bed for the night. Wisdom asked if I was going to name my pack and choose an advisor. “I will think about it as I sleep and decide in the morning,” I informed her. Pleased, she told me goodnight and retired to her pine needle pile. The following morning I woke up alone in Wisdom's cave and saw Jasper peeking inside. “Are you awake?” “Yeah,” I answered while rubbing my eyes. “I have to return to Malrik's, um, will you be okay?” He asked as he stepped inside. “Will he come back, for me?” I asked curiously and Jasper lowered his head as he shook it. “You

Aria's pov Following Jasper since he was familiar with the location I asked him what the Gulch was. “Is it just a rock formation or are there actual witches?” Glancing back at me he chuckled and said, “A bit of both plus exiled wolves.” “Great,” I muttered as I continued into the darkening cursed wilderness. We walked for miles and I was surprised by how large the Veilspare was. We passed through dead areas where the ground was barren of life earning it the name of the Bone Forest. Then we ventured into thick trees as we started to descend. “What area does Malrik rule over this land?” Pointing towards the north, Jasper told me about the northern section in the mountains. “He rules over the Northern pines and the entire mountain range.” We reached a high stone wall with crevices cut into it. “They're covered in snow which he prefers,” Jasper added as he ran ahead searching each entrance. “Is this the gulch?” Nodding slowly he said, “Yeah, stick close.” Travers

Aria's pov Seeing Hella leave, I glanced back at Malrik wishing he would smile again. It had given me butterflies in my stomach and shocked me at how much it enhanced his attractiveness. “Why are you eyeing me like I'm edible? Are you hungry?” He questioned, making me laugh while I sipped the contents of the glass Hella had given me. Shaking my head I looked at him coyly and admitted that I found him handsome when he smiled Malrik grew uneasy and gave me an awkward word of thanks. “Isn't your wolf a Dire? Aren't they extinct?” I rushed out, setting the empty glass down. His lip fluttered slightly as he stopped his grin and nodded. “Dire wolves exist but are rare and my pack is the only one that remains of them that I'm aware of,” he asserted. “They are enormous wolves…Impressive,” I mumbled. Sitting beside me he inhaled deeply and said, “When you reach your final form your wolf will be massive for a female wolf. Hella, the others, and I believe that you're the Sacr
