Smart girls turn me on

Raid

It is always the quiet ones. They are the craziest and the freakiest. I have seen a lot of crazy girls, I mean batshit crazy, and I avoid girls like that, but there's something about this nerd that pulls me in. She literally followed me into the bathroom. I chuckled as I thought about it.

I was already interested in the game she wanted to play the moment she approached me. Anything to get into Mason Chester's head. Mason and I have been rivals since middle school. We competed for everything despite being involved in different sports. So when Ashford pinned us against each other, we just went with it. When his ex approached me, it was easy to say yes, but I just had to mess with her. Like this morning.

I had no intention of kissing her, but I saw how Mason and his crew were embarrassing her, so I had to step in. The kiss was just an unscripted scene.

It wasn't bad though.

“Cap, you really dating the nerd?” Cass, one of our defensemen, asked as we got changed after practice. The locker room stared at me, waiting for me to answer. I smirked and closed my locker.

“Come on, Cass. Raid Bennett won't be caught dead with a nerd. This morning was a fluke,” Mathias, another teammate, said, smirking at me.

I shrugged. “Maybe smart girls turn me on now.”

The entire locker room burst into laughter.

“Yeah right,” Cass snorted, not buying the bullshit for one second.

“Careful, Cap. Next thing you know, she'll have you solving Algebra on a Friday night,” another teammate added, earning more laughter from the guys. I flipped him off.

Just then Coach Daniels came in and the laughter died down.

“Hey, Coach.”

“Boys, I know the semester just started, but no slacking, okay? We have our first game against Brockwood in a few weeks and the state championship in a few months, so I need you at your best, alright?”

“Yes, Coach.”

“And Bennett.” I turned to look at him. “Keep them grades up, okay?”

“Ouch, Coach,” I said as the boys started laughing again.

“Get your asses out of here. It's getting late,” Coach said before leaving.

“Hey Bennett, now that you have a nerd as a girlfriend, you don't have to worry about your grades anymore,” Cass said, batting his eyelashes at me. I showed him my middle finger, then took my duffel bag and helmet, leaving the locker room.

Truthfully? For the first time, I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that this was going to be fun, and I was already in too deep to back out now. Not after the kiss this morning.

Damn, the kiss.

I could feel her melt against me. Oh, and the shock on her face was priceless. The way Mason looked like he wanted to rip my head off.

God.

It was so satisfying.

I was halfway through the parking lot when I heard someone call my name. I stopped walking, then turned around to see Avery Sinclair leaning against her black SUV, arms crossed against her chest.

And she looked annoyed.

Cute.

“Hey princess.”

“Don't do that.” Her eyes narrowed instantly.

“Do what?” I asked innocently.

“This.” She pointed between us. “And whatever games you are playing with Chance. It's not going to work.”

I crossed my arms, looking at her, pretending not to know what she was talking about. “You gotta be more specific, Aves. I play a lot of games.”

Her jaw tightened.

“Chance Monroe.”

I hummed in thought. “My girlfriend? What about her?”

“Oh my God, stop it, Raid. I know you are trying to piss me off.”

I stared blankly at her for a second before I burst out laughing. “You think this is about you?” I held my stomach because I was laughing so hard.

She really is delulu.

I mean yeah, we had something going on, but it wasn't all that. I only got with her because she's sexy and she's a freak in the bedroom. That's all. It wasn't love or anything. She did piss me off though, getting together with Mason, my rival.

Chance was right. Avery is going crazy because of the thing with her.

Damn.

Oh am really going to enjoy messing with her and Mason.

“It obviously is,” she said, stepping closer. “I know you, Raid. You never look at girls like her.” She stood in front of me, looking at me seductively and pushing up against me.

Something about what she said about Chance irritated me.

I moved away from her.

“You need to get over yourself,” I said, turning to walk off.

“If you weren't trying to make me jealous, why did you kiss her in front of everybody?” she yelled.

“Because pretty boy looked like he was about to cry,” I yelled back.

“You are such an asshole.”

“Yet you like me.”

I got on my bike, putting on my helmet, and started the engine.

“I hate you.”

I didn't bother replying. Instead, I sped out of the parking lot.

Chance POV"CHANCE!"A banshee-like voice screamed in my ear, startling the living daylight out of me. I looked at a smug-looking Selena who was staring at me with her arms crossed against her chest, chewing gum annoyingly."What the hell?" I whisper-yelled because my ears were ringing, and half the class was staring at us, all thanks to you-know-who and her crazy self."What? You weren't answering me, and you were staring into space," she said before taking her seat next to mine, then turning to look at me. "What's got you all quiet and shit? Boyfriend issues?" she asked in an unnecessarily loud voice, a mischievous glint in her eyes.Again, the class stared at us, and I was tempted to kill her. She really knows how to get under my skin.I rolled my eyes before giving her a look. I decided to ignore her because I genuinely had no energy for her this morning, but I needed to talk to someone about last night. I looked around, and when I noticed no one was paying attention to us, I push

Chance POVI slowly shut the door because I was trying to be as quiet as possible. I knew Mom would be asleep by now. She had been working night shifts back to back for four days, so the chances of her dozing off immediately after getting home were high. I was so close to the stairs when I heard someone cough, making me almost jump out of my skin.Fuck."Chance Diana Monroe."I closed my eyes and groaned before turning around to see my mom staring at me with a raised eyebrow. I smiled sheepishly."Hey, ma. How you doing?" It was painfully obvious what I was trying to do."It's late," was all she said, and I sighed, my shoulders slumping. I hated that I woke her up."I am sorry for waking you up," I said with my head down.It was quiet for a minute before I heard her burst into laughter. I quickly looked up, and behold, she was laughing so hard she was holding her stomach. I blinked at her in confusion."Child, I am just messing with you." She continued laughing. I rolled my eyes at he

RaidShe could barely look at me in the eyes. I watched as she avoided my gaze and almost chuckled because the Chance sitting on my lap is totally different from the smart mouth Chance and I knew. But I get why she was a bit flustered. I didn't know why I kissed her either. Maybe it was the drugs messing with me or maybe it's the fact that she was just there and I just couldn't help myself."Don't ruin this"What am I saying? I already ruined everything by kissing her. Damn, what the fuck am I supposed to say now?"What's there to ruin, Raid?" She asked. Her voice barely audible but all I could think about was how she called my name. For the first time it wasn't rude or sarcastic, it was genuine.Fuck me. I was getting all sappy now."Nothing" I said shaking my head. She slowly got off my lap and it got awkward for a minute. I cleared my throat. "It's getting late. Come on, let me call you an Uber" I said as I slowly got off the bed. She quickly rushed towards me."Hey!" She yelled as

  • Playing Dirty With My Ex's Rival    Flashback

Raid Flashback I stared at my phone as I contemplated if I should call her or not. My fingers danced over her contact and I groaned when I couldn't click on it. Why is it so hard to fucking call her? It's a stupid fake date for Christ's sake and here I am freaking out like she was my actual girlfriend. This is so stupid. "Twenty minutes," one of the twins said to me. I didn't even look up to know which one. My head was all messed up right now because of a crazy nerd. I chuckled at my own frustration. This was new. Deciding not to text her, I pocketed my phone and got on Sissy. She roared to life when I started her and the sound was able to distract me from my internal dilemma, at least for now. I needed to focus. I had to win this race. I knew I had it in the bag but I had never been distracted like this before, so I was low-key scared. I sighed and waited till it was time to start. You got this, I said to myself as I pushed every thought of her to the back of my head. The ra

ChanceHe was now sitting up against the headboard staring at me and I was trying so hard not to have an internal breakdown because his dull eyes were boring holes into me.I cleared my throat. "What happened to you?" I asked."Chance Monroe skipping school to come find me? I feel honored. Damn you worried about me baby?" He tried to change the subject with his usual cockiness and smirk but failed when he groaned and held his stomach.I raised my brow at him. He sighed and then shook his head."I appreciate the concern Monroe but it's nothing ok? I will be good as new by tomorrow" he said seriously. His tone held a note of finality that told me he didn't want to talk about it.I sighed as I sat on his bed. I knew I didn't exactly have the right to ask him but I couldn't help it. Seeing him all battered, bruised and weak was not ok. I don't blame him though. We aren't real. Which is why I am still baffled I came here."You could have at least answered my calls" I mumbled suddenly feeli

ChanceI fumbled with my pen as I tried to focus on what Mrs Wade was saying. I was failing. My stupid brain refused to focus on my favorite subject but rather on the one person I currently hate with every bane of my existence. It was Monday and still no word from my fake boyfriend. At first I was so angry, then I got irritated and now, as much as I hate to say it, I am worried. He didn't show up to school. It's one thing for him to stand me up and ignore my texts and calls but not showing up to school scared me.Who am I kidding? This is Raid Bennett we are talking about here. That prick wasn't exactly a committed student so I might be worrying myself for nothing and he was out there doing something careless or stupid, maybe both.I shook my head as I decided to focus on what the teacher was saying. He is fine, just being an asshole as usual."Are you ok?" Selene whispered as she stared at me, pointing at my hand. Then I noticed I was biting on my pen.Shit.He was messing with my h
