“Shadow,” I grit out, my composure slipping out of my grip. “There’s another room right down the hall, I need you to stay there tonight.” Sora doesn’t make any move to leave the room, her eyes stay trained on my lips, wild. I clench my fist trying to hold on to some ounce of resistance. “No,” she whispers, finally dragging her gaze from my mouth to my eyes. “Why do you want me to leave?” Because if you don’t, I’m not sure I’d be able to hold back from pouncing on you, and the last thing I want to do is scare you shitless, is what I want to say but I just do what I know how to do best. I stay fucking quiet. “No you’re not,” Her voice cuts through my thoughts, and I pause, what the fuck? Can she hear what I’m thinking? I scrub a hand down my face and let out a laugh that sounds more strained than amused. I’m holding back lesser and lesser now. “Shadow, for a woman who’s supposed to be smart, you’re asking some incredibly stupid questions.” Her brows pull together instantly. “Then give me an answer.” “But I just did.” “No, you’re deflecting there’s a difference.” Christ. My gaze drops to her mouth again and that turns out to be a mistake, her lower lip is puckering out, pink and– The room closes around me almost suffocating and the only thing filling my nostrils is her scent. “Sora,” I say slowly, “I am giving you one last chance to save yourself. So please for the sake of whatever you believe in leave before I forget every gentlemanly lesson my mother ever tried to teach me.” Sora’s throat bobs, then her lips spread into a forced smile. “Oh.” I’m already turning around to give her space to leave when her hands clasp around my wrist. “Go on ahead, today has been one ball of terrible decisions, one more shouldn’t hurt, right?” Her fingers are warm around my wrist, too fucking steady like she’s the one anchoring me instead of the other way around. I freeze mid-turn, every muscle in my body locking up as her words sink in. I should be livid she sees me as a fucking terrible decision, but fuckkk me, I love how aware she is of our present. Accepting to be my girlfriend was her first step into losing herself and falling into my dark pit-formed world. A laugh rips out of me, low and rough, because if she only knew how badly I waited to hear her say something like that. “You’re going to regret saying that, Shadow.” “Am I?” Her voice is softer now, but there’s a spark of challenge in it. She steps closer, close enough that her chest brushes my arm, and that damned scent of hers, wraps around me like a trap I don’t want to escape. I turn fully to face her, crowding her space until her back hits the edge of the dresser. My hands find her hips before she tries to back out of this new challenge, gripping just hard enough to feel the give of her body under my palms. “Yes, princess. I’m going to make this terrible decision, one you’d crave every passing second.” Sora’s breath catches, but she doesn’t pull away. Instead, she tilts her head up, those wild eyes locking onto mine with a mischievous glint. “I didn’t think you had such thoughts running through your head about me,” her fingers glides down my chest, “Tell me what you plan to do.” I lean in, letting my lips hover just above hers, teasing us both. “You really want the list? Because it starts with me kissing that smart mouth of yours until you forget how to argue, and it ends with you moaning my name so loud you lose your voice.” I refrain from mentioning the part where I fuck the thoughts of Cameron out of her, but god be damned, will I be tagged a fucking psycho for thinking of ways to rid my brother out of his best friend’s life? Yes. Do I care? Fuck no. Her cheeks flush, but she laughs—a bright, surprised sound that shoots straight to my cock. “What if I’m the one who makes you moan first?” Fuck. That does it. I close the last inch and kiss her like I’ve been starving for it. It’s not gentle. It’s heat and teeth and hunger snapping like a live wire. Sora makes this little surprised noise against my mouth that turns into a hum of approval, her hands sliding up my chest and fisting in my hair pressing me closer to her. I lift her onto the dresser in one smooth motion, stepping between her thighs so I can press closer. My hands roam down her sides, over the curve of her ass, back up to tangle in her hair. She tastes much better than our first kiss, so fucking sweet. When I nip at her bottom lip, she gasps and arches into me, her legs wrapping around my waist like it’s the most natural thing in the world. “See?” I murmur against her mouth, grinning as I trail kisses along her jaw. “Your terrible decision’s feel pretty fucking good.” “Shut up and keep going,” she breathes, tugging me back to her lips. I chuckle darkly, but I obey because I’m not about to waste a single second. My hand slips under the hem of her shirt, fingertips brushing warm, smooth skin. She shivers, and the sound she makes when I palm her breast is going to live rent-free in my head forever. “Bed,” she whispers, nipping at my ear like a fucking cat, I stop using my brain to function for a couple of seconds. I don’t need to be told twice. I scoop her up, her legs still locked around me, and carry her a few steps to the bed. We tumble down together in a mess of limbs and laughter, her hair fanning out across the pillow like dark silk. I hover over her, taking in the sight—flushed cheeks, swollen lips, eyes bright with the same reckless want that’s burning through me. “Last chance to back out, Shadow.” Sora grabs the front of my shirt and yanks me down until our noses brush. “Kade,” she says, voice husky and full of promise, “if you don’t fuck me in the next ten seconds, I’ll become very much violent.” I grin, wide and wicked. “Yes, ma’am.”Kade I watch Sora's retreating figure, fighting the overwhelming urge to go after her. God. I wasn't trying to get under her skin. My targets had always been Cameron and Daisy, making my brother squirm from the attention his girl was giving me, too bad he decided to stay in. Jealous, possessive Sora had merely been an unexpected bonus. Right now, however, none of it feels funny. Fuck. I rake a hand through my hair, giving the stairwell one last glance before turning in the direction Daisy disappeared. If washing my hands, scrubbing my entire body and getting a skin transplant meant she’d stop looking at me like I had personally betrayed her then I'd do so a million times. She fucking compared me to Cameron, sure not directly but “Black men thing” was the exact jab she thought it was. If anyone should be apologizing tonight, it's probably me, not that I'd ever admit that out loud. After a minute of wandering about I finally find the rest room and I heave a sigh whe
Sora I am not sure what persuasion tactics Kade used to get me to come to Butterfly Garden, but they worked perfectly in his favour. “I don’t want to be here,” I say with a frown, but Kade only flashes me a cheeky grin. His hair is ruffled like he just got out of bed and I bite my lip to stop the thoughts running wild in my head. I love Cameron, but my attraction to Kade is wildly unmistakable. One-night stand my ass. “I didn’t say this earlier, but I’m proud you stood up to Cameron. He’s used to always getting his way.” Kade’s hot breath fans against my neck as he leads us through the entrance. I quirk a brow at him, confused by the unexpected compliment. “I didn’t stand up for myself, I only said things as they were,” I point out. He raises his hands in mock surrender, leaving my waist strangely cold without the warmth of his touch. Fuckity fuck. “My bad. I just assumed you were too in love with him to call him out on his bullshit.” He smiles, pulling back a curta
Kade I watch the light dim in Cam’s eyes, they are replaced with a burning fury that excites me to my bones. He clenches his fists, darting between my arms wrapped around Sora’s neck and me, jaw tight. Go on baby bro, hit me. My lips curve into a sweet smile, when he unclenches his fists. “Okay Sora. If this is what you want, I’ll support you.” Cam says between gritted teeth, Sora on the other hand tenses up next to me, her lips sealed shut. “Thank you bro. I am glad you came around.” I release my hold on Sora and step between her and my brother, I get even closer pulling him into a hug. “Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of pretty Sora. Not after having a taste of her.” His reaction is immediate. Cam shoves me off him with enough force to make Sandy gasp from somewhere behind us. I stumble back a step, more surprised than hurt, and when I look up, I almost burst out laughing. His chest rises and falls sharply, his fists clenched so tightly I can see the tendons straining
Sora I brush against Kade’s chest with my head, signaling that I’m awake but he only clenches tighter around my body. “I am not waking my girl for you” He growls out, the vibration sends chills through my entire body and I have to bite my lower lip to stop myself from moaning. Kade starts moving again and I lean in further to avoid Cameron catching that I am actually awake. Once we get into my office, Kade doesn’t set me down immediately, his arms wrap tighter around me and I feel like a cat being smothered by my owner. I should apologise to Bella, my cat, when I get home. “Stay still.” He orders, before taking a seat in one of the lounge chairs. I hate being blindsided so bad and where the heck is Sandy? Naturally she should be squealing or trying to get me awake. “I want to see her!” Cam yells from outside, banging against my door. I forcefully pry myself away from the comfort of Kade’s arms, already missing the warmth of it. “What do you—?” I interrupt whatever lectu
Sora He was everywhere, his scent making me dizzy. Was he always this intense? I distanced myself from him, courtesy of his very public claim, a little crowd was forming around us. "You don't have to be so vulgar," I breathe out. "I was just trying to set clear rules. Important ones seeing as this facade is affecting my business." I look down at my gown straightening a rumpled area, Kade on the other hand doesn't respond to what I just said, he only shoves a helmet into my hands and drags me to an entrance of some sort. His back is turned to me and I can’t stop the images from last night from running through my head. God damn. The man sure knows how to please a woman, he ignited a need in me that never existed until I kissed him. God, I want those fingers working earnestly inside me. Hands clasped around my neck as he pounds— I'm forced to a stop as my face collides straight with his back, I wince from the impact scrunching my nose to lessen the pain. We were in the building
Sora God, Sora, you’re a fucking idiot. Of all the people in the world you could have slept with, why did it have to be your best friend’s brother? Slowly, I turn my head. Kade is still asleep beside me, sprawled across the mattress, one arm thrown over my chest and his face buried in my hair. He looks so adorable right now, maybe I could spare three more minutes. No, no no. Being alone with Kade has proven to be a bad idea, one I haven’t yet gotten over. I peel myself away from his hold slowly, tiptoeing my way out of the room. When I get to the living room, I’m surprised to see my gown washed and folded. Maybe he wasn’t all that bad. I’m considering writing down a note for him when my phone buzzes on the couch, rushing to silence it. I notice there’s a bunch of texts and calls. This can’t be good. Not even in the least. I make my way out of the house heading to the elevator when I check my call log, Sandy had called fury times and the second highest was Cam, w
