"Don't hurt her!"

I looked behind me to see Aaron on his feet. His hands were up as he ordered me to stop. My hands dropped, and I immediately went towards him, pulling him into a tight hug.

"She helped me," he said, in a voice that sounded like a whisper.

He looked weak.

"But she ....." I couldn't believe that the lady could help Aaron.

I mean how? Or was it the other way round?

"She did nothing but help me," he repeated, making me look back at the lady, my supposed mate, who was full of mystery.

How could she help Aaron when she needed help more than anyone I know?

"She did?" I asked, confused as to how she could possibly help him. She couldn't even walk on her feet.

"I'd be dead if she didn't," he nodded in affirmation.

That's surprising. Aaron, the lion of Mallory, was saved by a girl who acted like a dog. What could be more surprising than that?
