Chapter 2— A way Out

Lara continued to run up the stairs in her black heels, “Shit! I can’t run in these anymore!” She angrily took off the shoes from her feet. She turned to see two men running behind her, immediately she hit the men on the face with each shoe!

Urghh! Urghh! They both fell hard down the stairs, she looked and saw more men coming; they began shooting at her, “Oh come on guys do you have to shoot at me? I thought we were friends!” She threw her hands in air like a nagging lady.

With a smooth move, Lara brought out her other gun— she flicked both guns with her fingers, aimed at the men in black and shot at them unforgivably.

Two down, four down! Their blood sprinkled in the air as they fell dead on the floor. Quickly Lara continued her race up the stairs. “Jack do something!” She called out angrily.

“I’m on it boss! There’s a tough firewall”.

“Do it quickly, I can’t climb these stairs forever!” Lara began to sound out of breath, she stopped to rest a little. The building was so large and high up.

Bang! Bang! More bullets came flying from behind her, “Give it a break guys, I only stole a ring, come on!” She shouted at the men and chuckled. “I can do this all day”. She grinned like a devil.

She flicked her guns again and shot straight into their chests, more blood was sprinkled. Suddenly one of the men grabbed her by the neck from behind and pinned a gun to her waist, “If you move I’ll shoot!”

Lara froze, unmoved. She exhaled, closed her eyes, when she opened them another man stood in front of her, “Hand over the jewel, thief!” He commanded. The man behind began to uncover her black mask, in a flash Lara raised her slender white legs and kicked the man in front of her with such a force that made him fall down the stairs screaming. In that same second, she elbowed the man behind her hard in his guts! Oof! He exclaimed and saliva sprayed out of his mouth.

She raised one of her legs in the air again and landed it on the man’s back— it made the man hit his face hard on the floor, he began to bleed from the mouth. Lara took his gun from him, she noticed more men were running towards her, “Oh man! Where are they all coming from?!” She flicked her guns again, rolled them in between her fingers and triggered.

More bullets came flying out of the guns straight to the men coming at her, some went into one’s chest, another went to the head, another went into one’s mouth. Within a few seconds five more men laid dead on the stairs.

“Hey boss, take the next available elevator!” Jack’s voice sounded through the chip in Lara’s ear. He had been to able to hack into the elevators.

“Uhh! Finally!”

The man on the floor close to her began to move, “You’ll never get away with this, thief!”

“I already have! Son of a bitch!” Lara replied and struck him hard on the head with his gun. He fainted!

She smashed his gun into the wall and jumped into an elevator, quickly she pressed the button of the last floor on the elevator with her glove covered hands.

“Well done Lara!” She praised herself.

“Are you ok boss?” Jack asked.

“Yeah sure!” Lara breathed heavily through the bluetooth, she could feel sweat dripping down her skin all over her body, she took off her black jacket to give her some air.

Ding! The elevator finally came to a stop on the last floor, the doors opened but Lara shook within her as she saw the strange figure standing in front of the elevator.

“Where do u think you’re going with that ring?!” The man chuckled.
