Chapter 10

Pitch-black darkness…even after she opened her eyes, Siana couldn’t see anything. She was confused by what was happening and had no idea where she was. When she moved her hands, she realized that her hands had suddenly turned small and so was her whole body. She became a child somehow…about a 5-year-old child.

Once she moved from her place she realized that she was inside an unfamiliar room. There were no lights on and therefore it was dark. Siana got down from the bed which was a hard task with her tiny body. Still, she pulled herself and walked towards the door, the creaks of which provided the only light in that room.

She opened the door slowly and walked into a completely different and vintage hallway. There were pictures of queens and kings on the walls, the windows showed a sigh of just endless forests. It seemed like she was in a castle and that confused Siana even more.

She heard some voices from the distance and she walked towards them. They led her to a room that looked like a lobby.

“You guys will have to protect the princess.” A woman said in a stern voice as she ordered some people standing in front of her. All of them were unfamiliar faces to Siana. However, that woman seemed very familiar to her.

She wore a fancy dress with lots of jewelry which made her look like a real queen. Siana was mesmerized by her and couldn’t look away. But then she focused on what they all were saying and it didn’t seem to make any sense to her. Who was the princess and why did she need protection?

“Your majesty…are you sure about this?” One woman said as she looked at the queen with a worried expression.

So, she was indeed a queen! Siana started to admire her even more but at the same time, she felt this attraction and attachment toward her.

“Yes, I’m sure of it. Take the princess away, as far as possible.” As soon as she said that, there was tension in the room and everyone just stared at each other in silence.

“B…but your majesty…the princess is just five years old…She’s still too young to be separated by you…” Siana was shocked to hear that. Why would the queen want to send her child away?

“Her life is in danger…they know about our castle so she’s not safe here…it’ll be much better if no one finds out her identity for now…” The queen looked sad and hurt while saying that. Still, she had put off a strong face and hid all her feelings behind it.

Once again, her words were followed by silence but they all agreed with her this time. The fear that those people put in them was clearly visible.

“We’ll take the princess away as soon as possible, your majesty.” They all said in low spirits as they started to leave that room to make arrangements.

Who were those people? Why were they all so scared of them?

The queen was the only one left in that room and all the sadness that she was feeling was finally visible on her face. She finally showed how broken she was to have to send her child away from her.

Siana felt a pain in her heart as she watched the queen sob silently. She wanted to go inside and hug her tightly. However, as soon as she touched her, everything went pitch black again.

The warm sun rays entered the room through the window and filled it with pure energy as they fell on the beige bedsheets and the lavender walls of Siana’s room. She sat up abruptly as she found herself in tears cause of the dream she just had.

After a few seconds, she finally calmed down and told herself that it was all just a dream. She felt confused as to why she even dreamt of something like that. Why would she see a queen sending her child away? Who was the princess? And who were those people they all were so scared of?

All the questions in her mind confused her even more and she started to have a headache which got worse as she thought more and more about that dream.

After some time, she decided to go back to sleep and lay back down again. All the sunlight from the window gave a warm and cozy feeling but at the same time, it irritated her eyes which longed for more sleep.

Rolling away from the window, she felt the other side of the bed which seemed unexpectedly cold. Her eyes opened immediately as her fingertips touched the cold bedsheet.

Where was she…?

She sat up immediately and felt the dizzy cause of the rush. Still, she carried herself out of the bed and looked around the house but all in vain. There seemed no trace of her in that place and that scared Siana even more.

Was that all a dream? Did she just imagine her being there last night?

After looking everywhere she noticed that the ring she had picked from the library was gone. And that made it clear that Verona was there last night. But then why did she leave? Why didn’t she stay there?

Siana felt frustrated by all that…she had been a mess last night. She had got vulnerable with Verona only to lose her again. She didn’t even feel anything anymore cause she hadn’t even fully believed the fact that Verona was back. So losing her again didn’t seem that big of a deal.

It was still 6 am and there were still 3 hours till she needed to reach college. Siana just sat down on the sofa and stared at the wall. All of a sudden her phone buzzed and she snapped out of her thoughts. She went looking for it and the message that she received puzzled her.

“If you wanna know your lover’s secrets, come meet me princess.”

Princess…it was the stalker! He even knew about Verona? What did he want to tell her now? And what secrets was Verona hiding?
