"Thank you," I appreciated. "Can I ask a question?" I said.

"Sure, please go ahead," he said.

"Please don't take this the wrong way. I am just curious about why the interview did not happen?" I asked calmly trying to understand if it was the case that my CV was too good or someone worked this out for me.

"Well, the CEO who sits at the head office, saw your CV and asked us to hire you," Mr Wilson said with a smile.

"Your CV was impressive, I must say and everything you stated checked out," he added and I smiled.

"You will be working directly with the CEO," Mr Wilson said and I raised an eyebrow.

"What happened to the manager?" I asked before I could stop myself.

"The manager resigned weeks ago for personal reasons. You are the new manager," he announced to my surprise.

"Manager?" I repeated.

"Yes," Mr Wilson acknowledged.
