Chapter 3: Meet the New Professor

DAHLIA

Just now, it seemed that our eyes met when he left the dean's office. However, he immediately averted his gaze and resumed what he was doing. Maybe I was just paranoid or something that made it seem like he was looking at me.

Particularly these days, I've been thinking about him a lot.

I've been thinking about how to deal with him.

I gritted my teeth in anger whenever I thought of our past. I've never thought that someone like him was a good actor who could hide his true emotions well. He fooled me into thinking that he loved me.

After all, the interaction we had when we first met was different. It was so peculiar and every time we interacted with each other, our feelings deepened.

Let me rephrase it again. It should be ‘my’ feelings deepened. He just made it look like he fell for me, but rather, he was just lying all along. He just got me dancing in his palm.

For sure, he must be laughing and mocking me in his heart when I keep on telling him how much I love him and those sweet cringe words.

I pursed my lips and averted my gaze at the office where Kaleid had left just now.

While I was walking, I felt a presence walking beside me, which made me look to my right side and saw that it was that bitch, Vivian.

I immediately put my sweet and innocent smile on as I greeted her with enthusiasm.

“Vivian! Where were you? I've been trying to find you earlier!” I asked with a hysterical voice, looking at her with brightened eyes.

Vivian smiled at me brightly as she wrapped her hands in my arms.

Disgusting.

“Hehe, sorry I've been trying to catch some gossip there.”

I looked at her with brightened eyes. “Did you catch some spicy gossip?”

Vivian smirked and nodded excitedly. “Have you heard about the popular girl in the section?”

“No. What about her?” I honestly asked while enduring the uncomfortable feeling in my whole body. It was as if a leech was crawling around my body.

Vivian seemed not to notice my expression and kept on talking in such a low, whispered-like tone.

“That bitch tried to seduce Mr. Kaleid earlier, but do you know what happened to that bitch? Heh! She just got what she deserved. After all, Mr. Kaleid just ignored her, and when she tried harder to seduce him with her so-called ‘beauty’, she ended up being roasted by Mr. Kaleid! HAHAHA!” Vivian laughed madly when she recalled the scene she witnessed.

When hearing her words, my brows couldn't help but furrow. But then, in the end, I didn't pay much attention to it. After all, in this second life of mine, Kaleid will no longer occupy my heart.

After all, he had already destroyed it in my first life. I won't let him destroy it for the second time.

Besides, I haven't gotten my revenge. After I'm done dealing with Uncle Ben and this bitch Vivian, I'll head straight to him.

It seemed that Vivian didn't hear me talking, she raised her head and looked at me with my brows furrowed.

“Why aren't you laughing? Isn't it funny?” Vivian asked with a smile on her face but her eyes were coldly penetrating me.

I let out a soft chuckle and shook my head. “I was thinking of something else. Please spare me, Vivian.”

Vivian let out a laugh and patted my cheeks. “I'll spare you, for now, Dahlia. Also, you shouldn't like Mr. Kaleid.”

I raised my brows but remained calm and innocent in front of her. “Hm? Why is that?”

The smile on her lips disappeared and it was replaced with a smirk as she looked at me coldly.

“Because I want him.” She simply said, but her eyes were filled with various emotions.

Seeing her like this, made me frown from disgust.

“En, I understand.” I still managed to squeeze out my smile at her.

Hearing my answer, she nodded in satisfaction before bidding her farewell, leaving me alone in the hallway. I glanced at her, flirting with another man, dragging him towards the back of the school, and started sucking each other's faces.

I looked away in disgust.

Vivian, it's still not your time yet, so you still have time to enjoy spreading your legs to any man, since I'll deal with you once I'm done taking care of Uncle Ben. I'll make sure to give you the sweetest nightmare the way you gave me a nightmare.

The nightmare that left a scar on my heart. This kind of feeling that I can't erase no matter how hard I try to. I can still vividly remember myself begging in front of her to stop her from throwing gases in our house and igniting them.

Yet that bitch just laughed at my misery.

Just thinking about that made my anger rise.

No, this is not good. Calm down, Dahlia. Just calm down.

Take it slow. You have all the time to deal with them. Don't destroy all of your plans just because of anger.

After calming myself, I happened to meet Kaleid who was walking in my opposite direction, yet for some reason, I felt his eyes on me.

I immediately shook my head at that idea and erased them from my head. It's not like Kaleid also happened to remember our first life, right?

Besides, he seemed not to remember our first life, so I guess this was also part of the butterfly effect.

I raised my head to look up at Kaleid to see where the hell the angle of his made me fall in love in the past.

I couldn't help but click my tongue. Damn. It seemed that every angle of his was perfect.

What a well-structured, godly, handsome son of a bitch.

However, for some reason, I felt like he was different from the one whom I saw on the cliff. The one who pushed me off the cliff.

Although he looks the same but... if I remember it clearly, there was no mole under the corner of the eyes of the man who killed me off in my first life.

No! Dahlia snapped out of it. That man, Kaleid, is the one who killed you and tossed your love! They all deserve to experience the despair that you've experienced.

It seemed that Kaleid sensed my eyes on him, leading him to look at me.

I was slightly taken aback by his gaze, but then I remembered that we have no relationship in this life.

I gently smiled at him with politeness before I went back to the classroom.

In the afternoon, my brows furrowed when I heard those shrieks mostly made by these girls, ringing inside of my ears, making me a headache.

I massaged my temples as I rested my head on my palm while my arms were on the table, looking at my classmates whose eyes were shining like stars.

Suddenly, the door opened, leading my classmates to shut up, but their eyes were filled with eagerness, looking at the person who had come inside our classroom.

My eyes widened as I was petrified of my spot. It felt like my soul was sucked out of my body.

Kaleid, what the hell are you doing here?!

Soon, Kaleid opened his mouth and spoke in such a cold tone that it felt like the whole room became a refrigerator.

“Kaleid Del Fuego. I'll be your temporary historian professor for now since Mr. Torres got in an accident.”

Just what the hell is wrong with this butterfly effect?!
