After the front door closed I stayed by the window a little longer. Then I locked the bedroom door and sat on the bed with my phone. I opened the video and watched it again from the start. Adrian’s voice. Maya’s soft laughs. The clear words about the papers and Nexus. My stomach twisted, but I forced myself to finish it.

I sent the file to two private cloud accounts I had never shared with anyone. Then I copied it onto a small USB drive I kept in an old jewelry box. When that was done I deleted the original from the phone and put the phone away.

I dressed quickly and called my driver.

“Take me to the Nexus building.”

The morning traffic was light. At the office the security guard nodded when he saw me. I went straight to the legal floor and asked for Mr. Han. He had been my father’s lawyer for twenty years. Quiet man. Careful. Loyal.

He stood when I entered his office.

“Miss Lila. I didn’t expect you so soon after the wedding.”

“I need a few things done today,” I said. “No one else should know.”

He closed the door and sat down. I kept my voice calm.

“Freeze any new document transfers that come through the company. Nothing moves without my direct signature in person. Also prepare a set of protective papers. Full control of Nexus stays in my name only. No joint rights. No temporary powers. Nothing Adrian can touch.”

Mr. Han looked at me for a long second.

“Is everything all right?”

“It will be,” I answered. “Just do it. Today if you can.”

He nodded slowly. “I’ll start right away. You’ll have the drafts by this afternoon.”

I thanked him and left. On the way out I walked past my own office and looked at the desk where my father used to sit. It still felt like mine.

Back home I spent the afternoon reading company reports on my laptop. Rosa brought lunch. I ate little. Time moved slow until evening.

Adrian came through the door at seven with a black folder under his arm and a bright smile.

“There she is. My beautiful wife.”

He kissed my cheek and held up the folder.

“I brought those papers I mentioned. Nothing serious. Just some tax adjustments. We can go over them after dinner.”

I smiled the way I used to.

“Okay. Let me change first.”

We ate in the dining room. Rosa served quietly. Adrian talked about his day, about meetings, about how happy he was that we were finally married. I nodded and answered when I needed to. The folder stayed on the table between us.

After the plates were cleared he opened it and slid the first page toward me.

“See? Simple. Just a few signatures here and here. It helps with the quarterly filings.”

I picked up the paper and looked at the small print. The same kind of paper that had once taken everything from me.

“What exactly does this transfer?” I asked.

He laughed lightly.

“Nothing important. Just some holding shares for tax purposes. Temporary.”

I turned another page.

“And this one?”

“Same thing. Standard.”

I set the papers down and rubbed my eyes.

“I’m tired, Adrian. The wedding, the party… my head feels heavy. Can I read them properly tomorrow? I don’t want to sign something while I’m half asleep.”

His smile tightened for a second. Then it came back smooth.

“Of course. No rush. Tomorrow is fine. I just want everything clean for us.”

He gathered the papers and put them back in the folder.

“I’ll leave them on the desk in the study.”

Later we sat in the living room for a while. He put his arm around me and talked about honeymoon ideas. I leaned against him and said soft words back. When he finally went upstairs to shower I stayed downstairs.

My phone rang. Maya’s name showed on the screen.

I answered.

“Hey.”

“Lila! How was the first full day of being Mrs. Adrian?” Her voice was bright and warm. “Are you happy? Did he spoil you?”

“It was quiet,” I said. “We’re both tired.”

“That’s normal. The big day takes everything out of you. Rest a lot. And call me if you need anything, okay? I’m still your sister.”

“I know. Thank you.”

We spoke a few more minutes about nothing important. When the call ended I stared at the dark screen for a moment. Her sweet voice still echoed in my ear.

I went up to the study, locked the door, and opened my laptop. The company banking portal loaded quickly. I logged into the emergency reserve account first. Then my personal accounts.

One by one I started new transfers. Large amounts. Quiet accounts I had opened years ago under different names and never used. Accounts Adrian had never seen. I moved money from the company emergency fund and from my own savings. Each transfer needed confirmation. I typed the codes carefully.

When the last one went through I sat back in the chair. The room was dark except for the screen light. A small smile pulled at my mouth as I hit the final confirm button.

The money was gone from places he could reach.

Safe.

Mine.

I closed the laptop and sat in the silence.

The first real step was done.

I could not stop seeing the photo. Adrian’s hand around Maya’s throat. The same grip. The same cold look in his eyes. It sat behind everything I did for the rest of the afternoon.I stayed in the bathroom longer than I needed to. The water ran hot over my shoulders while I stared at the tile wall. When I finally turned it off I wrapped a towel around myself and walked out.Adrian was waiting in the bedroom. He had taken off his shirt. His eyes moved over me the moment I appeared.“You took your time,” he said.I did not answer. I let the towel drop. He crossed the room and pulled me against him. His mouth found mine. The kiss was deep and hungry. His hands slid down my back and gripped my hips.“No more waiting,” he muttered.I pushed him toward the bed. He sat. I climbed onto his lap and straddled him. His cock was already hard between us. I reached down, guided him, and sank onto him slowly. He groaned. His hands tightened on my waist.I started to move. Slow. Steady. Up and down.

I read the message twice. Rooftop café on 5th. Tomorrow 2 p.m. Come alone if you want the rest of the proof.I did not answer. I locked the phone and went back to bed. Adrian was still turned toward the window. I lay beside him without touching and waited for morning. The next day I dressed simply. Dark jeans. White blouse. No jewelry. I told Rosa I had a long meeting at the company and left before Adrian could ask questions. The driver dropped me two streets away from the café. I walked the rest of the way.The rooftop was quiet. A few tables under white umbrellas. I chose one near the edge where I could see the door. At exactly two a woman walked in. Older than me. Maybe mid-fifties. Calm face. Gray streak in her hair. She carried a thin brown envelope. She sat across from me without smiling. “You’re Lila.”“Yes.”She placed the envelope on the table between us. “I used to work for his family. Years ago. I saw things. I kept quiet then. I’m not quiet anymore.”I did not reach for

I turned the phone off and slid the earring into the drawer of my nightstand. The video still played behind my eyes. Adrian’s voice. Maya’s soft cries. The way he had spoken about Nexus like it was already his.The bathroom door opened. I wiped my face quickly and sat on the edge of the bed as if nothing had happened. Adrian walked out with a towel around his waist. He looked at me for a second, then went to the closet without speaking.Morning came. He left early for a meeting. I stayed home until noon, moving through the rooms like a guest in my own house. Rosa asked if I wanted lunch. I told her I was not hungry. In the afternoon the front door opened sooner than I expected. Adrian’s footsteps came up the stairs fast. He found me in the bedroom folding a sweater. He closed the door behind him and turned the lock.“I couldn’t stop thinking about you,” he said.He crossed the room in three steps and pushed me back against the wall. His mouth covered mine hard. One hand gripped my wai

I stared at the message for a long time. The words sat on the screen like a knife. I did not reply. I saved the number under a blank name and locked the phone.Adrian came back from the shower a few minutes later. He walked into the living room naked, water still on his skin. He took my hand and pulled me upstairs without speaking. In bed he drew me against his chest and settled his hand over my breast. His breathing slowed. Soon he was asleep.I stayed awake. The ceiling looked the same as every other night, but nothing felt the same. The message kept turning in my head. Someone else knew. Someone who should not know.Morning came gray and quiet. Adrian was already dressed when I came downstairs. The black folder sat on the breakfast table. He pushed it toward me while Rosa poured coffee.“Any word from your lawyer?” he asked.“He needs two more days,” I said. My voice stayed soft. “He’s careful with these things.”Adrian watched me over the rim of his cup. The smile he gave me di

  • REBORN TO RUIN HIM   Chapter 6 : The Morning Touch

I woke to the feel of Adrian pressed hard against my back. His arm was already around my waist. His mouth brushed the side of my neck.“Morning,” he whispered. His hand slid down and slipped between my legs. “I’ve missed this. Missed being inside you.”My body reacted before my mind could stop it. Heat spread low in my stomach. I let out a soft breath and pushed back against him just enough. His fingers moved slowly, teasing. He kissed my shoulder and pressed closer.“You’re already wet,” he murmured. “Let me have you.”I moaned quietly so he would believe it. His cock rubbed against me, thick and ready. He shifted, trying to push inside from behind. I waited until the head of him brushed my entrance, then reached back and stopped him.“My head still hurts too much,” I said. My voice was soft, almost sorry. “Not yet.”He froze. I felt the frustration in the way his hand tightened on my hip. For a second I thought he might ignore me. Then he let out a slow breath and pulled away.“Alri
