The Pain Of Betrayal.
Aurora's POV.
I couldn't hold back my excitement as I thought about telling him. The news of carrying our child, our precious little Fin, was about to burst out of me.
With a hopeful grin, I reached for the icy doorknob in front of me. My heart pounded wildly, filled with happiness, while my stomach fluttered with joy.
I turned the doorknob, expecting it to be a delightful surprise. But then, who would have known that life wasn't always going to follow a simple plan.
"Nelson!?"
I gasped in exclamation, feeling a wave of fear surge through me.
My eyes widened with terror as my brown leather bag slipped from my grasp and crashed to the ground.
I stood there in disbelief, hoping against hope that it was all just a terrible hallucination.
"What is she doing here, Nelson!? You promised you'd end things with her!"
Hannah, who was supposed to be my closest friend, my half-sister, and my secret pal, spoke with anger etched across her face.
She had betrayed me in the worst way possible.
She was fucking having sex with my boyfriend, my fiancé, the person I loved deeply and was willing to do anything for.
Tears filled my eyes, rendering me speechless and motionless. I stood there, unable to utter a single word to them.
"I'm sorry, Hannah, but how could I end it when she kept pestering me?" Nelson retorted, a hint of frustration in his voice as he got out of bed.
His gaze suddenly turned into a glare, a first for him. He grabbed a towel from beside him and hastily wrapped it around his waist.
As he approached me with an intense stare, my fists clenched tightly in anger.
"Please, Nelson, tell me this isn't true! Tell me you're not cheating on me with my own best friend," I pleaded, blinking rapidly to hide the tears welling up in my eyes.
I fought hard to maintain my composure, refusing to be seen as weak or foolish.
"And what if it is true, Aurora!?" he burst out, devoid of any remorse in his eyes.
He was transforming into someone unrecognisable, and I couldn't comprehend how or why.
"What!?" I gasped, my sobs catching in my throat, my voice shaky at the unimaginable scene before me.
My eyes were swollen and filled with tears, making everything appear hazy. All I could see was the unmistakable glare of betrayal etched on his face.
"You heard him, Aurora!" Hannah chimed in, yanking off the bed sheets that concealed her nakedness.
She hastily covered herself with a robe, a clear indication that they had spent the night together and had been deceiving me behind my back for who knows how long.
My tummy churned with regrets as I felt a sharp edged sword pierce through my innocent heart.
"Why, Hannah? Out of all people, why did it have to be you?" I whimpered, my voice trembling as I tried to hold back the tears.
"And I should be asking you the same question, Aurora," she snarled, perching herself at the edge of the bed.
"You were the one who decided to take what was mine!"
"Mine!? What are you talking about, Hannah!? Nelson and I have been in a relationship all this time, and we even have a child together and …!"
I was about to say more, but Nelson, who stood in front of me, cut me off mid-sentence.
"You know, Aurora," he said, turning around and approaching Hannah, who sat on the edge of the bed.
He gently held her cheeks, just like he used to with me when we were together.
Without any hesitation, he leaned in and kissed her on the lips, causing me to stumble back in shock.
I was completely shattered, devastated beyond words. Yet, all I could do was stand there and witness this betrayal.
How foolish I felt inside, biting my lower lip in shame and disgrace.
He shifted his gaze towards me after kissing her, and said, "Hannah has always been the woman I've had my eye on. I didn't want to say anything at first, but then you came along with that thing.."
He trailed off, leaving me to momentarily regret why I had given in to him that night at the motel.
Why I had lost my virginity to an unworthy fool like him.
"That 'thing'?" I nodded, a bitter smile forming on my lips.
"This 'thing,' Nelson, is your child! Our child, and..." I began, but he interrupted me once again, his voice filled with rage.
"I have never, ever had sex with you! You always said you wanted to wait until marriage, so now you're trying to make me believe I have a child?"
He advanced toward me, his anger and disgust palpable. He looked at me as if I were something repulsive.
"Listen, Aurora, I'll say this once, and I suggest you listen carefully. Otherwise, things won't be pleasant for you!"
I paused for a moment, my mind struggling to process the unfolding scene. The ache in my heart gnawed at my very core.
And then, out of nowhere, he commanded.
"Get out of my house!"
"What? But I am..." I tried to protest.
"Didn't you hear him, Aurora? He told you to get the fuck out! Nobody wants you and that bastard here!"
Hannah stood up, her words filled with hatred, directed at both my unborn child and me.
That was the final straw. I could endure her insults, but not when they involved my child.
"How dare you call my own child a bastard!?" I attempted to approach her, ready to unleash my anger, but Nelson held me back.
With a face filled with anguish, I swiftly turned to him, realising that it was truly over.
"I trusted you! I trusted both of you!" I cried out, but Nelson pushed me away.
"Well, you shouldn't have!" he sneered.
And Without a moment's hesitation, he gripped my wrist and forcefully pulled me toward the door.
"Nelson, please don't do this! Please, just tell me it's all a joke, and I promise I'll forgive you!" I pleaded, desperately trying to keep myself grounded.
"No one, Aurora... no one needs your forgiveness! Especially not when you're carrying a child like this!"
He scowled, and before I could say another word, he violently shoved me out of his house.
I lost all control at that moment, feeling utterly helpless and lost.
My mind couldn't process the situation I found myself in.
Before I could comprehend what was happening, I was already tumbling down onto the unyielding ground, the impact sending a sharp pain through my body.
A loud thud resonated in my ears, while I scraped my elbow on the rough surface.
"Ahhh!" I winced, the sudden ache becoming unbearable.
My heart, already bleeding with sorrow, seemed impossible to contain.
"And, Aurora, I never want to see you near my doorstep again. If you dare show up, that child you're carrying won't live to see another day in Normhill!"
He threatened, hurling my bag at me, and then ruthlessly slamming the door shut in my face.
At that moment, the only question that consumed my thoughts was,
"What did I do to deserve this?"
"ALPHA'S MATE"Aurora's POV"Never you ever show your face before my eyes again!!" Nelson's voice boomed through my ears that it felt like he was still standing before me and glaring at me.As I sat there on the unforgiving floor, my heart throbbed with unbearable pain and sorrow. It felt as if my heartache was uncontrollable, causing it to bleed metaphorically. All my hopes and dreams had shattered right before my eyes, leaving me devastated. It was a surreal moment, and I felt a sharp pang in my racing heart, prompting me to clutch my chest in anguish.Who could have imagined that my six-year relationship with my first crush and boyfriend would come to such a tragic end? I closed my eyes for a moment, attempting to find some semblance of calm amidst the chaos. It was just so difficult to accept the harsh reality that surrounded me."What didn't I do for you, Nelson? Where did I go wrong? Was I that bad and stupid?" I shrieked, my eyes betraying the intense regret I was feeling.
Marry Mr. Dark!!Aurora's POV.The memory of the scene on the highway kept replaying in my mind, and honestly, I didn't know how to process it anymore. "Alpha's mate?" I swear I had heard that phrase somewhere, but I couldn't remember where exactly. When I arrived home, a deep voice pierced through my ears."Where have you been, Aurora Norah?!!"As expected, my stepmother's voice thundered the moment I stepped into the house. Her voice was filled with anger and intense rage as she called out my name. Her face showed a mix of confusion and shock.I started to fear her, afraid that she might uncover the secret I had been desperately hiding from her—the baby."I... I was..." I stammered, my eyes trembling with fear.I had no idea what excuse I could come up with; my mind was blank, and I couldn't think of anything."Are you keeping something from me?" She rose from the worn-out couch where she had been sitting. She approached me, her eyes narrowing with suspicion, and her face revealing
The Man From My Dreams?Aurora's POV"If you marry Mr. Dark, I promise not to reveal to your dad that you were already pregnant before you left the house!" she proclaimed, her voice filled with evident satisfaction."And it's just a one-year agreement. All you need to do is give him a child!" she added, a hint of disappointment in her tone."What? Marriage? To someone I hardly know?!" I exclaimed angrily, my face reflecting confusion and disapproval.I swiftly rose to my feet, no longer willing to be at her mercy."You know what, Mary? I'd rather face my father's wrath than marry a heartless monster who doesn't care about a woman's emotions!"I spun around, intending to rush to my room, but she halted me in my tracks."I knew I shouldn't have trusted you, Aurora, and that's why your child will never know peace until its dying breath!" she threatened, using my child as a pawn in her twisted game."Leave my child out of this, Mary!" I warned, my voice filled with intense fear."Then don
I REJECT YOU AS MY MATE!Lucious POV."Why aren't you in your room?!" She asked angrily, her voice filled with intense anger that shook me to my core for a brief moment."I won't move an inch as long as she's there, Claire! Get her out of here, right now," I stated firmly, my eyes expressing my disgust."You have to go to her immediately, Alpha Lucious!" She shouted, her voice sending chills down my back.I scoffed at this point, realising that she knew my preferences very well, so why was she forcing me into this situation?"You know how much I hate humans, Claire, and yet you brought her into my room?!" I shouted as soon as I saw Claire burst into my room.I was beyond angry because now I not only had to deal with a human in my room every day, but I was also expected to have her as my partner."I don't want her here, Claire! Take her back where she came from!" I said firmly, turning away from her and walking towards the window.I couldn't believe that Claire had brought a complete s
Aurora's POV.His presence loomed over me, his piercing, green eyes fixated on my trembling form. As he drew nearer, the air thickened with tension, suffocating me. His finger, cold and accusatory, extended towards my jawline, forcefully tilting my face to meet his gaze.At that haunting moment, his words thundered through the air, cutting through my heart like a jagged blade. "I, ALPHA LUCIOUS DARK, REJECT YOU AS MY MATE! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A WEAK HUMAN, AND THAT'S NOT THE KIND OF LUNA I WANT FOR MY PACK!"The weight of his declaration crashed upon me, engulfing my entire being in a torrent of fear. Anger and fury seeped into his voice, making it quiver with an almost scary intensity. Initially, it seemed like a mere statement, an act of dismissal, but then the true impact of his rejection struck me with the force of a lightning bolt.A searing, agonising pain erupted within me, tearing through every fibre of my being. The mere intensity of this feeling stole my breath away, le
Aurora's POV.I knelt on the ground, my mind in a whirlwind, struggling to understand what had just happened. With each word he spoke, my heart raced uncontrollably. His deep voice, as always, echoed in my mind, pulling me towards him and clouding my thoughts."Was I under some kind of spell? I never felt anything for him before now… so what changed?" I whispered to myself, but then she appeared again, responding to my thoughts."You are his Mate, Aurora... You might be just a human, but you're the Alpha's Mate!" she exclaimed, entering my room. Instantly, fear ran through me, causing my body to tremble."I... I'm sorry if..." I stammered, attempting to stand but stumbling back to the ground. She rushed towards me, grabbing hold of me tightly. The closeness made me realise that she had somehow read my thoughts."Are you alright? You've been saying strange things in your head!" She chuckled softly, her grip on my shoulders growing stronger."Can you read minds?" I blurted out, staring
Aurora's POV."Get down on your fours!" his voice boomed, resonating with a commanding authority that pierced through my very being. The mere sound of it compelled me to submit, to surrender my will to his every word. There was an inexplicable power in his voice that left me no choice but to comply with his demands. It bound me, wrapping around my thoughts and emotions like an unbreakable chain. I was trapped, unable to resist his influence. As I knelt down on the frigid, unyielding floor, a mixture of fear and guilt coursed through my veins, gripping me tightly. The intensity of these emotions was overwhelming, causing my body to quiver uncontrollably. The weight of what I had gotten myself into pressed down on me, suffocating me with its consequences. In that fleeting moment, I couldn't help but regret my decision to meet him. I questioned why I hadn't simply obeyed Claire's advice, but deep down, I knew it would have been futile. My child would be left without a father, and my
Luscious' POV."Why is she taking so long?" I muttered quietly, feeling an intense urge and excitement growing with each passing moment as I anxiously waited for Aurora. If she was truly meant to be with me and help me break the curse that had been placed upon me, as Claire had mentioned, then I firmly held onto the belief that she would never abandon me under any circumstances.I had encountered many women in the past, most of them were looking for a sane Alpha partner, while others were too afraid to approach me.But Aurora had been different. She had stayed by my side and willingly agreed to be my Slave Mate, my submissive. I couldn't bear the thought of letting her slip away.Suddenly, I stood up, still eagerly anticipating her arrival, continuously glancing at my watch with each passing second.Feeling restless in my room, I grew impatient waiting for her to arrive. "I warned her!" I thought to myself as I quickly paced towards the door.Initially, I planned to open the door forc
