EPI 6 REJECTION

On reaching the ceremony, a happy whistle could be heard, as praises and joyful chants all over.

How I wish they knew it would end in sadness if not for the second chance given to me.

Lucas held me as we both greeted different werewolf clans present. They are all very proud of me and praise me.

 If only they knew I once made the same mistake my mum made but is just trying to rectify my mistake and avenge our deaths now.

Lucas told me he wanted to go meet someone important, which I knew was Zoe, but I just brushed it off, smiling dangerously within me. It is just a matter of time. I should let them enjoy themselves in riches for now.

"Lady Scarlett, you are looking so beautiful today," One of the elders praised, smiling beautifully.

"I do look beautiful before you know.." I teased.

"Of course I know, Silly girl… I just wanted to praise you, and you spoiled or already.." She snorted, feigning a hurt face. I just love her.

Lady Kiara, she was a close friend of mum before her death and has been like a mum to me after mum's death.

"Come on, don't act like a baby.." I whined. 

"Says the one who acts like a baby the most… baby girl I am so happy you are finally with your mate today." She said happily while I just forced out a smile.

"Thanks a lot, Lady Kiara.." 

"Where is that silly boy, he should be with you throughout today… it's your day… he shouldn't go around having meetings…" she said now a bit annoyed.

This didn't happen in the past life, She was going on and on praising Lucas. 

Guess the changes have begun. I could also recall she was pleading with me to save her before dying a painful death, I shut my eyes tight recalling the pains I saw on their faces, the howls, their distress."

"Oh, my dear are you okay?" I heard lady Kiara ask, shaking me.

"Ye… yeah I am fine.." I managed to squeak out but she doesn't seem to believe me

"You looked pale, are you okay…" lady Kiara asked.

"I am fine, just a bit sick," I murmured, smiling.

Just then the door opened… Zoe and Charlotte came in, thank goodness because it diverted Lady's Kiara attention.

I smirked as they both strutted toward us grinning happily, they must be excited that their plan is about to take place.

Charlotte saw some of her colleagues and was greeting them.

"Dear, hope you didn't feel that lonely?" I heard Lucas behind me making me look in his direction.

"Here he comes… You should be with her all through today!" She grumbles, to which he nods his head smiling.

"Alright, I should go meet some people over there.." She said as she left just the both of us. I could see how annoyed Lucas was when staring at Zoe.

Yeah, they didn't find a perfect dress for her and I also made sure I locked my room so they wouldn't get in.

I decided to excuse myself from Lucas telling him that I wanted to go meet them. But he declined, saying he should come along with me.

"You did change your dress, Zoe…. But, you should have told me to offer you one of my beautiful ceremonial dresses?" These were the first words I utter the moment I got to where they were all standing including some important guests.

"Scar... Scarlett.." 

 "And now, you look like a mother of two Hawking woolen bags in the street," I ended with a sly smirk... Not minding the kind of look they were throwing my way.

I walked around her observing her dress and burst out laughing so hard, I never expected attention to draw closer but by the time I was done laughing the crowd's attention was now diverted to us.

I was not a nuisance in my past life, I am pretty sure they are going to be so surprised by my attitude. Though I can fight back, I don't reply when I am bullied.

“Mrs. Charlotte, how would you think of such a dress to give to someone you regard as your daughter?'' I asked, casting a gaze at Mrs. Charlotte then I shook my head “poor girl" I clicked my tongue. 

The people closest to us laughed so loud that I began feeling sorry for her.

"It’s unmistakable that the woman does not like this lady, even my mother would not think of giving me such old worn out clothes to wear,"   one of them said.

“Stop it, Scarlett, or else you get the punishment you would forever remember even after your demise” Zoe cautioned me, feeling embarrassed.

"After my demise, you say… are you in any ways planning to get me killed?" I beseech in fury…

How come I didn't think about this before the matching ceremony in my past life

 "It… it's just a slip of tongue and out of anger.." She stuttered, of which I just smirked and clicked my tongue. No one dared question me since I am soon to be Luna.

I turned to Lucas, to see how he was furious... And I don't care.

 I recalled my past life when I approached  Lucas and reminded him about the bond after the ritual had begun.

“You should not forget that I would choose you as the Alpha of the clan, and you would announce me as your chosen mate,"  those were the words I said to him in my past life. It was unusual now. 

 I am now reborn, I don't care about being his mate any longer, not like I am his chosen mate.

"It's almost time for the ritual, Scarlett, we don't want to postpone it any longer.." Nancy said as she strolled towards me... She has been my best friend for years now and had never for once like Zoe. 

She hates it when I drag her with me telling her we three should go shopping. 

She has been tolerating Zoe because of me… but guess now we can both embarrass Zoe the way we want.

"Ha! That's true... Lucas, let's go for the ritual now." I said and walked past him, seeing he was still furious about the situation on the ground.

I sat in the temple stance waiting for the ritual to begin, Lucas not wanting others to get suspicious of him also came to sit beside me.

When the ritual began, I moved toward Lucas, as wolves approached us,  giving me words of commitment and why I needed to choose him as the Alpha of the clan. Then I smiled inwardly as I turned each of them down.

Lucas approached me, faking an affectionate expression, his head down as he squats before me.

"You know by now that I would not live my life without you being present. Choosing me as your Alpha would make it two strong wolves in the clan, me and you leading them with love as our pillars" fake words, he uttered to trick me… son of a gun.

He said a few more words of commitment to me, believing that those words were just for the ritual and that I would choose him without a negative response.

"My people do not want me to make a mistake, which my mother did…" I paused to see his reaction but he seems not to have gotten any hint.

"They do not like you,  I am sorry” I dropped the bomb, with fake tears flowing down my cheeks.

“Are you joking? “ Lucas whispered to her as he gave Zoe and Charlotte a fierce look, I took the note off.

"Ha! Their plan has gotten ruined.." I thought.

“I am serious about this, I am sorry, I can’t choose you or anyone. I don’t want to offend my clan, I can not risk that, but that does not mean that I do not love you, I do a lot." I cried out loud and ran away from the ceremony. 

Even with my name being called by the elders I refused to reply.

When I ran out of sight and saw no one was following me…  I hated running and wiped off my fake tears.

"I am grateful that I escaped from a big mistake that cost me my life in the past," I said out loud, half happy and half sad.

I was still sad because I never in my world expected to be betrayed by Lucas and Zoe.

I leaned behind a tall tree to relax, then I felt my heart skip a beat, at first I thought it was just nothing. 

But then my heart skipped again...

I felt something come alive in me, dancing around overwhelmed by happiness.

"Zyra?" I called to be sure of what I am thinking right now.

"Hi, Scarlett.." I jumped in happiness seeing my wolf has returned, my wolf is now alive.

But I went still again, hearing the next word from my wolf.
