RETRIBUTION OF LUNA SCARLETT

"What is going on?” I asked in a state of confusion seeing how my mother’s clan werewolves were executed.

I saw as Father and stepmother stood in a corner, watching the killings, not doing anything to save them.

"I said what the heck is going on?" I cried out again, waiting for someone to at least say a word.

But, no one answered me, still confused and lost. I thought it was Father that ordered the execution of the werewolves, but on another thought, he has no right to order an execution of the clan. So who the hell ordered this?

The blood shadow pack is the strongest pack in the tribe of Moon hunt, they are a mixture of both witches and werewolves in one pack.

There I saw Lucas, my soon-to-be mate, my heart, my love standing in front of the scaffold as if he wanted to break out a piece of news. 

Happily, I leaped toward him, thanking the goddess, now he would be able to help me and stop the killing.

So far, another trouble came, I went still, hearing the announcement,  I was in shock. 

"I want to let, every one of you now know that Zoe Clark is my chosen mate, and your soon to be Luna.'' Lucas announced with a big smile spreading through his face. 

I have never seen him smile this big, ever since I have been with him.

"No, he can't… I trusted him… he won't betray me." I kept mumbling words to soothe the pain my heart was in right now.. But who am I kidding? It was all true, I am not dreaming. 

The crowd howled, murmured, gossips brought back my lost attention.

"What is going on? Lady Scarlett is supposed to be in the position of being his mate.."

"She even gave up her Alpha position for him.." I heard as different gossips kept going round.

"He betrayed me, he betrayed my trust.. He hurt me, he lied to me.." My head is spinning right now.

I made him who he is and this is what he used as a pay back, it hurt, my heart is howling in pain… My wolf is crying her heart out.

Lucas was a prominent son of one of the families of the blood shadow pack, he made me believe he likes me, and made me give up my position for him.

But it was all because of his own good, since I am a rare bloodline in the blood shadow pack and an Alpha. 

The matching ceremony which is happening right now was for him to choose me as his mate . 

Out of love I gave out my Alpha’s position to Lucas who gladly accepted and promised to be faithful to me, now it was time for him to choose his mate of which should be me but he betrayed me.

Then it all makes sense, only he has the right to do this. He is the one who ordered the execution of my mother’s clan, the blood Shadow pack during the matching ceremony.

Confusions and howling of werewolves in the blood shadow pack were being heard, blood was spilt everywhere. Sound of betrayal could be heard.. Griefs of my werewolves clans could be seen and felt.

They wanted me to help, but I don't even have the power to do so. All I can do is just stand there and watch them perish in agony.

I stared at Father and stepmother who watched in silence and avoided my glances. 

"Why!" deeply in pain I cried out, that was the only thing I could do.

Gaining a bit of my senses I then approached Lucas and Zoe at their temple stance.

"Lucas, are you mentally ill? What is going on?” I asked as I held his long robe, demanding a response from him. 

I needed a response, I do not want to believe that this was really happening.

 “What’s left to explain Love?”  he gave a triumphant smile.

Wow, now he has the authority and is now showing his true self.

"What do you mean by that? I was supposed to..?" I was cut short by Zoe who stood beside Lucas.

“You were supposed to be his mate” she completed my sentence and smiled wickedly as she slowly removed my hands from Lucas' robe.

"And this happened, so? Lady Scarlett, what is meant to happen, will happen, at the right time and at the right place." she let out as  she stylishly removed a strand of hair dangling on my face.

"Accept it, dear and sorry for your loss, Scarlett" she ended with her cunning smile.  

If staring at people in a way one feels is a poison, I would have dropped dead Zoe with my long stare. I tightened my fist trying to control my anger, still in deep anguish of betrayal.

I fell down on the floor, struggling to breathe.

 Zoe and Lucas were in love with each other, although Lucas liked me but he was not in love with me.

He never felt the same feelings for me but in all these he hid his red flags and showed his fake love to me

I never knew that I was just an option for my lover, he only wanted what I had and not me.

Zoe is a daughter of my father's  clan, the silver line pack, her pack was not strong enough to protect themselves and were looked down on, so she found love in a pack of great talent and strength.

I had rejected my supposed to be mate, Karen for Lucas, who now betrayed me and took Zoe as his Luna. 

"Take her away and execute her!" I heard Lucas' husky voice order, though I am almost unconscious but I could hear every single thing going on. 

Immediately, I felt my almost unconscious self being dragged away from the betrayers. I tried regaining my sight, I can't just let things go this way.

I watched as my Father just stood there watching his only daughter being ordered for execution in a brutal manner.

I could also see how  step mother held his hand so tight, and smiled.

I wanted to scream at them, I wanted to make them feel the pain I was feeling right now, but I am too weak to do so.

No one stopped the execution, not even my Father. He just stood there and watched them execute my mother’s clan.

I gaped at Lucas speaking with so much authority, that was exactly what he wanted, to be in that authoritative seat where no one challenges his order, he wants to rule everyone, the way he wants.

Now that he has achieved his goals through me, he has  decided to execute me.

I was thrown to the ground as the rest of the werewolves stared at me, some with pity while some with anger, some with a happy face.

“Give us a very nice well given order without a reason why we the witches should execute her as you ordered.." One of the witches asked with a spiteful voice.

"Yes Alpha, we can’t just kill a werewolf without a tangible reason, as the matter of fact, she is one of our clan,"  the eldest of the wizards spoke up. I am also confused as to why we are being executed without a reason.

“She  invited a ghost wolf to her clan, this action of hers caused more harm than good to the blood shadow pack, I did not raise the alarm immediately I noticed, but I did so now, and it’s better late than never" Lucas said unapologetically without a look of remorse. 

I was too weak to heave a word, is this how brutal and cunning he is? My wolf howled in pain listening to what he said.

"Any eye witness" the witch inquired.

The crowd went solemnly quiet until Father broke the silence.

"I saw her with the wolf "

“I did as well," my step mother added, making my heart hurt more.

Two witnesses was enough reason and proof to carry out the Alpha’s order, there was nothing that could be done to save my poor self.

I stared at her Father in dismay, I was speechless, hatred overwhelmed me. If only I could go to where he was standing I would kill him, right there then.

Three witches approached me with a knife that had passed through a hot oven, each holding knives and a bowl filled with blood.

 They approached where I sat, since I was strapped against a chair I couldn't attack. With a chant of doom, I screamed, pleaded for help, but none came.

 They calved my face with the knife forcing me to drink the blood. "Please.." I cried out but no one heard my plea.

I suddenly felt my whole throat hurt then my body, it was like I was inside a furnace. I struggled still sitting there for the minutes I didn't know.

 I howled , raising my head high to the sky. I  was losing my strength, weak and tired. 

The wolf in me was dead, I was now a human who has the shortest span of life to live.
