I stirred with the morning light filtering into my bedroom. I opened my eyes, and I felt different. I tried to move, but it was as if I had been anchored to the bed, tied down with cinder blocks. I tried to move and froze when I heard a soft snore.
Images of my dreams, mixed with something close to reality, invaded my mind. I stirred a bit more, and I heard a voice. "Don´t move too much, darling..." It was Fermin´s voice to my left.
"Fermin, what?" I mumbled, and then a hand across my waist pulled me to the left.
"You are too noisy, princess." The grumble coming from Wyatt made me panic. If those two are here, where is...?
"If you keep moving, I am going to eat you again..." Hunter said out loud between my legs, and I was utterly mortified.
"What happened?" I mumbled, and Fermin raised his eyebrows.
"You called out to us, darling..." he said, caressing my cheek, and then lowering his hand
ZaneAsteria´s hesitation gave me something to think about, but right now was not the moment. Maybe my salvation depends on the healing I get for my soul and my monster, coming to terms with my past, and embracing my future. As soon as I thought about that, the thought diffused into thin air: "That is romantic nonsense." I mumbled, and Asteria looked up from the map. She was setting everything up to start our search with the compass."What was that?" she asked,"Nothing, " I mumbled, because I felt stupid thinking my salvation would be that simple. We are on a mission. We stole a magic compass from the Vampire Ark, and we have already risked so much and wasted so much time that it can´t be that easy.I took a deep breath. "Let´s focus on the medallion," I said to Asteria, and she nodded. She held my hand, and we both touched the compass with our wish and desire to find the medallion in this realm. The north bounced, and then the other arrows spined. The main arrow pointed at an area o
Asteria D´AngeloWith everything ready, Stavros took us to the royal portal, and we stepped into it with our royal cards. Zane´s was brand new, and I loved the way he proudly presented it. Knowing that he got to experience what a real family, real love, security, and happiness were would bring me comfort if the mission fails.I laced my fingers in his and smiled. The royal portal in the vampire realm took us to one of the safest areas in the realm, close to Sergei´s castle. I looked around and saw a cab. I raised my hand, and the vehicle stopped."Where to?" he asked,Zane looked at me and he smiled. "Can you take us to The Crimson Velvet, please?" I said, and he nodded. "Fancy hotel..." he said, and we nodded. "Not from around here..." The man locked eyes with me in his direction, and Zane noticed. Zane hissed, and the man then looked at him."She is not even a vampire," he said, and I rolled my eyes. It was not rocket science that I was not a fucking vampire, starting with my lack o
Asteria D´Angelo"I am going to call Sergei and Helia..." Dad said, and I nodded."Please, we are not staying with them... just let him know about our presence there so he can show us which areas are safe for us to move around," I said, and Dad nodded."Yeah, I will... but unfortunately, Sweetie, Sergei, and Helia would at least want to invite you to dinner..." Dad pointed out, and I nodded."I guess we can spend dinner with them." I looked at Zane, and he smiled."Sure..." he shrugged his shoulders, and I beamed. I loved how confident, how strong, and how secure he felt. It was not only that he was maturing, but there was some strange energy around him, something particular to a leader. I smiled, admiring my mate, and he lowered his gaze, meeting mine, and winked."We need to pack up..." I said, and Zane nodded. He picked up the compass and packed it in its leather pouch. He laced his fingers with mine... "Thanks, family..." She smile
ZaneI was amazed at how the four most powerful Lycans in the realm got together like little kids around a magical compass owned by the vampires. It was as if they had found a Holy Grail and were ready to explore it."Dad, do you think you can figure out how it works?" Asteria asked, and he nodded."Let's give it a shot..." He said, and Grecco mumbled a soft "Cool.""If it's magical, shouldn't we be asking Allegra?" Asteria asked, and they all looked at each other."Probably," her father sighed, and she nodded."I'll give her a call..." Asteria's mother said, and they all stood there circling the compass. The compass was nothing extraordinary; it was neither gold nor gilded. It was a simple, rusty metal compass, which was likely used for navigation, as evidenced by the damage to the metal caused by water and salt."Are we sure this one is magical?" I asked, and everyone looked my way, as if I had grown a second head."Ar
ZaneThe next day, Asteria was adamant that I take a break and rest. I was all for Iti, but only if she cuddled with me on the bed or the couch. She agreed, but with the condition of ´no funny business´ taking the fun away from my rest time.I tried to behave, but after Iris healed me, I felt completely fine, and I needed her. So, even though I agreed with the 'no funny business' policy, I found a loophole in the situation and took advantage of it. Instead of me making the first move, I enticed her to the point of making her break her own rules. At first, she just stared at me parading around shirtless, or while cooking, reaching for things, trapping her between the counter and my chest of drawers.I could see her trembling, and then she tried to regain control. I could see how her wall crumbled, and then she lifted them up, trying to allow me time to heal, but the reality was that I had never felt more alive in my life. It was while we were watching
Asteria D´AngeloZane´s lips trailed the column of my neck, sending me into a frenzy. I wanted him, needed him. He was here, the danger was over, and yet, I couldn´t shake from deep within my heart the fact that my mark, my blood, almost killed him."Zane, are you sure?" I mumbled in a haze. It felt so good to be in his arms, the way his lips ran down my neck, and the way his fangs scraped the mark he left in my body."More than sure about this..." he locked his eyes with mine, and I could feel him, and even his beast was tamed, yearning for us to come together."I love you," I said, and he smirked,"Darling, the best thing that has ever happened in my life is you. I had lost hope, my mind had already settled with the idea that my life, all of it, would be torture until my last breath, and then you happened. You came along and proved me wrong... You came along and showed me that even if my life was meant to be brief, love and happ
