CHAPTER 17

The car was parked and I slipped out as soon as the engine was turned off, closing the door behind me and not even sure I could walk but I would die trying.

My feet carried me out of the garage, walking out in the dark night that seemed so peaceful, filled with laughter from afar. I heard the patter of feet across the road, lights in houses on as families spent time together, others sitting outside and chilling with their friends.

I walked up the path, taking a turn in the road, making my way down the street and trying to stay far away from people. I did not know if he followed, I did not even care as I walked as fast as I could down and down, the walk so long, my legs shaking.

"Evening your majesty." A voice came, turning to see the group of those teenagers we had dinner with.

"Evening, I hope you are all doing well?" I was able to say, my voice husky, just happy that it was not shaking as my hands
