She is dead

MIRANDA

What? Be his tool of pleasure?

His eyes remained on me, waiting for my response to his condition.

I'm trying to save my sister and me from one monster, and he is planning on making me his tool of pleasure.

"No, I can't accept that, " I refused Antonio.

He stared at me with his right brow levitating at my answer.

But that got me thinking.

"If I turn him down, how will I save my sister? He's the only one I can ask for help. He's ready to help if I please him, so..." I reasoned, looking back at Antonio.

I guess he knows what is going on in my head because I've been quiet after my first answer.

Having no choice, I agreed to his condition.

"This is about my sister's life. She's very important to me. I'm ready to do anything to save her from Don Vito. So, you have yourself a deal," I accepted.

His eyes shone with delight as he carefully took his hands off me, letting me go.

He said nothing but sat properly against the wheels.

I lifted myself off the armrest, wondering how we'd execute this plan without Don Vito knowing.

"Can we begin now?" I asked, sitting down in the back seat.

"Karen must be worried sick about me. I can't allow her to stay alone for another minute."

"We'll head there now. Before we get to his mansion, you'll step out of my car," Antonio said, starting the engine, and making a turn.

"This is how we'll do it, " Antonio started the plan.

"I'll get your sister out and get her to take the back door. The moment you see her coming, signal her your way. Once I'm out of the mansion, I'll pick you two up. Is that clear?"

"Yes," I answered.

"Gosh! I can't believe I'm doing this, " He groaned, driving.

I felt my heart pounding, watching as he drove, making his way back to that man's house.

This is to save my sister. I have to take her out of that place as soon as possible.

I've had her in my care ever since she was four years old. Now she's a big girl, but still my little sister.

It's my duty to protect her.

Antonio soon arrived at a stop, giving me the sign to step out and hide in the bushes across the road.

I immediately took note of the plan, stepping out of the car, and dashing right into the bush across the road.

I carefully hid myself, following Antonio's movement from the bushes, until his car came to a stop outside Don Vito's mansion.

"God, please let this work out. Bring my Karen to me, " I prayed, watching Antonio.

Where I hid, I noticed Antonio stepping out of the car, looking my way. It seems he spotted me because he had his eyes on the spot where I was hiding.

Then, he turned over and walked into Don Vito's mansion.

I remained in the bushes, waiting to see my sister stepping out from the back door. I had to move further to have a clear view of the back door.

"It's still free of guards up till now, " I observed, seeing that same barrel I escaped from, right at the corner.

"That's odd. The maid hasn't attended to the clothes yet," I noticed.

"Has the maid forgotten that Don Vito hates when things are left unattended to?" I questioned no one in particular, but it's the way I've seen it for years.

"The last maid that left her work unattended was killed. Or has she been killed as well?" I wondered, staring at the barrel.

Not too long...

BANG! BANG!!

My heart flew right to my throat on hearing the sound of a gunshot from Don Vito's mansion.

"Gunshot?" My eyes widened, sending my feet slowly out from the bushes.

Shivers ran across my body. Why the gunshot? What happened?

I was almost out of the bush when I saw Antonio stepping out of the mansion, hurrying for his car.

"Where is he going to? Where's my sister?" My heart came pounding, as I watched him getting closer to his car.

He looked my way and gave me a sign to... Move?

Move to where? What about Karen?

I felt like storming out of the bush to face Antonio, but I drew back when I saw him driving away from there.

"Did he change his mind? I thought we made a deal. " I stared, feeling betrayed.

"If he's not helping anymore, I'll go in and save me..."

"What should we do now, Don? " I heard a guard speaking from the mansion.

I lifted my gaze to see Don Vito and a guard, stepping out of the mansion together.

His presence sent me freezing completely, staring at this monster as he walked towards the front gate like a king.

"Miranda is nowhere in the mansion. She has escaped."

"They are looking for me?" I gasped, feeling my feet trembling, listening to the guard report my case to Don Vito.

Don Vito, holding a cigarette in his hand, took in a draw, puffing out the smoke. That's when I heard him say, " She can't hide from me forever. Get your boys ready and find her."

"Yes, Don."

My entire body quivered at this. He knows I've escaped. What now?

Suddenly, my eyes are met with a horror scene.

My sister, Karen. I saw two guards dragging her out of the mansion, DEAD!

My eyes grew large, watching how these men dragged Karen's lifeless body towards Don Vito, asking, "Should we load her up in the trunk or pile it with the others?"

My world came crumbling before my eyes. My sister, my Karen. She's dead.

The gunshot I heard, was Karen.

Don Vito killed my sister.

"Put her with the others. Once I find Miranda, I'll blow her head up and unite her with her sister's corpse. In her next life, she won't mess with me, " he said, taking a draw from his cigarette.

Tears filled my eyes as I watched these men dragging Karen away.

Her face came into view and I could see that her face was bloody. A part of her head is missing. He shot her in the head.

"No, she can't be dead. She can't be!" I stared, swaying my head.

I felt the need to scream. I felt like calling out to her.

"Ka..."

"Hush!"

A hand came covering my mouth from behind.

"Don't make a sound or he'll hear you," The voice said.

I immediately recognized the voice as Antonio. He came back for me.

What's the point of coming to me?

Karen is gone.

She's dead.
