LOGINGeorge and his wife lay down in the bed. He turned to his side and saw that his wife was already asleep. He had his eyes on her as he slowly removed the duvet. He had his feet on the floor and stood up without waking his wife.
He crept to the door and quietly opened it. He snuck out of the room. He climbed down the stairs and walked towards the stateroom. He had got close to the door and saw the person, who her back against the wall. The lady heard footsteps and looked forward. She rolled her eyes when she saw him as he walked towards her. "I almost thought my coming here would be in vain." She said plainly, without making eye contact. "I had things to do." He replied. He stood in front of her and tried to touch her cheek. The lady slapped his hand and scowled at him. "What is with the attitude?" He asked her. "You were with her, weren't you?" She said, being a little jealous. "She still my wife. I can't just leave her." He answered her. He let out a sigh and had his arms round her waist. "Her purpose in my life is just to complete the picture. She means absolutely nothing to me." "Really? And you want me to believe that?" She said curtly. "I love only one woman and that's you. I can't erase me you from my life." He said softly as he kissed her. The lady didn't hold back and enjoyed it as his lips were on hers. He broke it and she smiled at him. She was driven by the lustful passion which was ignited by the kiss. "You know," George said softly, with his hands slowly going behind her dress, "I couldn't stop dreaming about you. I don't know want you did to me from that first night. You're all that think of-in my sleep, while I eat-and now you're here, I want to do to you what I've been..." The lady had her finger over his mouth and shook her head. She bit her lips and looked at him. "Remember, action speaks louder than words." She whispered and chuckled. George kissed her passionately as he led her into the stateroom. The lady, already used to the structure, opened the door and they entered inside. Unknown to them, Violet had been watching them a distance. She leant against the pillar and was unseen. Seeing them kissing broke her heart and made her eyes teary. < > Williams opened the door to his bedroom and furrowed his brow annoyingly. He walked towards the bed and removed the duvet that covered his unwanted guest. Fiona had barely slept when she felt the duvet being moved. She opened her eyes and looked at him. "Get out of my bed." He said coldly. He had worn a serious face. "Why?" She asked him airily as she sat up. "Get out!" He repeated, glaring at her. Fiona rolled her eyes and did as he had said. Williams watched her as he walked towards him. "You better have a good reason why you decided to interrupt my sleep." She said rudely. "What are you doing in my bed? And told you could enter my room without my permission?" He asked sternly. "What else it is meant for except sleeping?" She replied ironically, "I saw that you sleep alone and decided to keep you warm. We could cuddle each other, have a nice night-just you and me." Fiona smiled at him and caressed his face. Williams got annoyed with her even more and held her hand. She looked him, confused. "I never asked you to come here. All I want is for you to leave my room. Having you in my house only pisses me off." He said bluntly. "Williams, when will you understand that I truly love you? Can't you see how obsessed I've become all because I have feelings for you? We've dated for two years-two years and not days-and you want to leave me just like that?" She expressed her feelings, "And your choice of a wife had to be her? That smelling woman who comes from a fish pond. She is the one whom you decided to spend the rest of your life with, isn't she?" Williams turned a deaf ear to her ranting and walked away from her. He walked towards the windows on the right. "Rebecca clearly doesn't love you. She is a conniving woman who is only after your wealth." She said vehemently, scoffing at him. "My wife isn't what you describe her as." He defended her, without making eye contact. One of the windows was open and he looked through it. "When will you all open your eyes and see that liar for who she really is? She is no good for you, Williams. She is stupid and the worst choice you've made as a life partner." She said irritably. "You have no knowledge about my wife; don't be too quick to judge her." He replied firmly. "Judge-?" She slung him off, "Rebecca isn't a saint, you know. That wife of yours was having an affair with my brother, knowing fully well he was married to Violet. Here's where the hypocrisy starts; she befriends the Queen while she sleeps with her husband. If she could do that to another, give me one reason why she can't do the same to you?" Williams seethed as he listened to her revelation. He pursed his lips and turned his head around. He flashed a glance at her and diverted his eyes to the window. "Regardless of her past deeds, I still love my wife." He replied confidently. Though he was angry about the Duchess' past affair with the King, he didn't show it. "Even knowing all these, you still claim that you love her? Are you out of mind or what? Has she bewitched like she did to my brother?" She asked him angrily. "Instead of meddling in my affairs and worry about certain things that don't concern you, why don't you leave my room and let me be?" He replied plainly. Fiona heaved angrily and nodded. "Fine." She muttered. Fiona looked at him for a while and left the room. The Duke let out a sigh of relief. "I thought she will never leave." He said to himself. Williams had his eyes at the sky, which was cloudy. The moon was overshadowed by some of the clouds and stars weren't that visible. He pondered on what the Princess had told him and the secrets he learnt from Crystal. "Is she still in love with George?" He feared. The thought of him losing her to the King made him restless. He left the window and walked to the door. He turned the handle and left the room. As he closed the door, he saw the Duchess climbing up the stairs. Rebecca got to the landing and flinched when she saw him. His presence had startled her. Williams left otherwise. He stared at her, mesmerized by her beauty. He didn't move nor say anything to her. Rebecca felt edgy when she observed that he was staring at her. She couldn't think of anything and smiled at him awkwardly. She looked away from him and walked to her room. She pulled the door open and entered her room.George and his wife lay down in the bed. He turned to his side and saw that his wife was already asleep. Williams sat down on the sofa and surveyed the interior of the house he was in."Here!" A friendly voice said.Williams looked at the person in front of him and smiled faintly. He stretched his hand and collected the cup of tea as well as its saucer. He saw the steam that came out of the liquid."Thank you, Mrs Hilda." He said plainly.Hilda hummed and stood there. She was watched him as he blew off some of the steam and took a sip of the tea."Do you like it?" She asked keenly, with a smile.Williams replied in a nod but didn't make eye contact. He kept the cup on the table in front of him."You know, I can't thank you enough for what you did for my lovely Becky. Despite knowing that she was pregnant with another's child, you still decided to marry her. Not all men would have done what you did." She said openly.Williams didn't reply. He didn't want to reveal his reasons in the cause to continue the conversation."Speaking of Rebecca, she had ret
Williams was outside the house, and stood in front of the bullseye. The sun had set and the night was slowly falling. Stars appeared in the sky one after the other and twinkled as they did. The Duke took out an arrow from the quiver and positioned it on the bow. He drew the nook on the string, moved the fetching on the grip and aimed for the bullseye. He shot the arrow and it landed on the black ring. He shook his head, disappointed that he didn't reach his aim-yellow ring.Thomas, who had been with him, observed his gestures. He knew that his master was a good archer and never missed his target. But that evening, he wasn't playing as he normally did."Your grace," He called him.Williams turned his side and flashed a glance at him. He diverted his eyes to the bullseye and shot the arrow he was holding. It landed on the white ring."I've observing your aim and I've to admit, you've been losing. Neither of the arrows you have shot has landed on either the red or yellow ring. "Are you
Fiona had gone horse riding and was returning to the castle. She got down from the horse and let the horseman lead the horse back to stable. She had got to the front door, ready to enter when she saw the carriage. It pulled over at the tree before the castle. Fiona watched keenly to see who it was and had a frown when she saw it Rebecca. She was displeased to see her and didn't conceal it. Rebecca got closer and hurried to the castle. She stopped when she saw the Princess."What a pleasant surprise!" Fiona scoffed."Where is His Majesty?" Rebecca asked eagerly."I have no idea. And if I did, I wouldn't tell you. So it's best if you return to where you had come from. That hole will befitting for you than my castle." Fiona said smugly."I didn't come for you. I just want to talk to George and I'll leave." Rebecca replied plainly."You are indeed brainless. You have no respect for your king and have boldly addressed him by his name. How dare you?" Fiona said curtly, raising her hand.
The ride to Rebecca's house was partially smooth-the path which they had taken was rocky. Rebecca looked through the window and had her eyes at the birds that flew to their nest in a tree."Your grace?" Zita called her attention.Rebecca diverted her eyes from the window to her. They sat opposite each other."Does my dress look okay? I plan not to embarrass my mistress in front of her family." She asked nervously.Rebecca couldn't help her but chuckled. She found her words amusing. Zita misunderstood the laughter and felt shy that her assumptions were right."It's best if I stay in the carriage while you go in. My dress would only cause the others to mock me." She expressed timidly."I'm not laughing at your dress. You look gorgeous and there's nothing wrong with it. Please, don't misunderstand my laughter. Your words were funny." Rebecca said jovially, sensing the sadness in her voice as well as her facial expression."My position as the Duchess doesn't mean I came from a rich family
Rebecca was folding some of Catherine's clothes and put them in the wardrobe. She closed the wardrobe and let out a sigh. She walked the bed and sat down. She was dressed to leave. She picked up her shoes and put it on. She did the same to the other. She stood on her feet and picked her handbag. She walked towards to the dressing table.Rebecca kept her bag on the table and wore the gloves she had left there. She was putting on her hat-which had roses on it-when the door opened."Your grace!"Zita had entered the room with Lady Catherine in her arms. She was crying. Rebecca turned round and looked at them. "She wouldn't stop crying." Zita said as she walked towards her.Rebecca collected her daughter and smiled at her. "Sh! It's enough, Cathy." She said softly, gently swinging her in her arms."It seems like she is hungry." Zita suspected, giving her mother a hint."It hasn't been an hour since she ate." Rebecca said airily, trying to calm her daughter down. "You've forgotten the L
