The Agony

It was a beautiful sunset, and the weather was splendid not too warm and not too cold.

Everyone saw as the little angel ran across the woods. She is beautiful with green eyes, friendly, innocent, and protective towards her people. Other kids run after her and laugh with her as well. Their giggles filled everyone's hearts with joy and peace.

Out of nowhere a soft strong fingers brushed across her hand and traced slow circles up her tiny arm. Warm breath teased across her porcelain skin, causing goosebumps to follow in its wake. alluring heat wrapped around her. Soft gentle heat that seemed to cocoon her entire being. It was as protective as it was carnal and promised a world of pure, serene, pleasure.

There was something else though, something dark lurking beneath that strong, numbing haze those touches always sent her mind to.

"I'm coming..."

That voice was called endearingly and whispered something more but then suddenly the beautiful voice of her mother broke her daze.

"Fiona "

The girl turned her head towards the graceful voice of her beloved mother.

"Come darling, your father is calling you”

Her mother said.

“Sure mamma coming"

Fiona's silky voice rang while she ran to her mother. And after reaching home, she searched for her father excitedly to show him the flower that she had brought. She ran towards him and forwarded the lovely flowers towards him. Her father chuckled softly and commented on the beauty of her daughter compared to the flowers.

"Come to my bird come here and take this, and after this, I have a surprise for you. I think it's the best time to hand over our legacy to its rightful heir."

Her father said as he handed her the glass of milk. Fiona made a revolting face when she saw the milk.

“Hey, my little bird you don't have to make that face you know what, I have mixed your favorite chocolate syrup in it and when you finish it like a good girl, you will get a surprise gift from your papa."

Now the night sky was aglow with the bright lights of the mansion. The bright full moon shone surrounded by an ethereal glow in the night sky with millions of stars sprinkled around it. The fresh breeze turned the weather very cool and pleasing.

Within a second Fiona started drinking the milk and after she finished, she kept the glass on the table. Her father smiled as she wiped the milk from the corner of her lips.

"Papa now, my gift?"

Fiona asked, keeping her right hand on her cheeks while looking at him with her innocent eyes. Her father went to her side and kissed her forehead with adoration then her father took the locket from his neck and put it on her neck and the special birthmark from her neck started to fade slowly.

“Papa this is your special favorite locket na! Why are you giving it to me?"

Fiona asked innocently.

"Yeah it's my favorite but you know you are my favorite, my little bird, you just promise me that you will take care of it always. It will stay with you and you will always understand a part of me is always with you. There is a light in this world. A healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering and too much pain. Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways. Always remember you are the only key and no one should know about that"

Her father said and she nodded her head in approval although she didn't even understand the meaning of his words.

"Pinky promises papa, we'll always be with each other"

She asked but she didn't know it wasn't going to happen. She ran happily to the mirror but suddenly her attention fell on something outside the window and screamed excitedly.

“Mama... Papa... Look!”

Her mother quickly ran towards her and when she also looked outside herself, it was as if her breath was stuck in her throat. Fiona hastily pointed toward the crimson shade of the Moon which indicates danger. Within a second all the people from outside started screaming for help.

“The kings... the kings are coming hurry.... hurry to save your life, save your children... Save your family"

Everyone started to shout at the top of their lungs. Fiona's father's eyes widened in fear and on the other side, her mother's face paled when they heard a loud growl echoing in the village.

"Come on Fiona go to the basement now!”

Her father shouted and Fiona's eyes began to tear up as she was going to the basement.

"Mama Papa... Take care and please get me out of here soon I'll be waiting”

Fiona said on the verge of crying.

"Yes my love, now please”

Her mother said and kissed her forehead softly. Fiona's whole body became alert and goosebumps on her whole body proved that the situation was worse.

Fiona's body shoots up with high alert as loud piercing cries ring out everywhere. Gathering lots of courage, with her shaking body she peeped out with the help of a small hole enough to see outside, and houses burning down in flames.

Everyone was running around searching for an escape. A few tears slipped from her green eyes as a familiar sound was heard from outside. She peered down and found his father, a loud cry escaped from her lips and her body stood frozen in fear. Tears fell from her face when she realized that her father was fighting for his life.

She ran down the stairs as screams filled her ears and terror flooded her veins. She sprinted to the front door of the pack house and flung it open- revealing Kings and pack members everywhere tackling, biting, ripping, and killing each other.

Her eyes squeezed shut, and her hands plugged her ears, praying that this was not real. After taking a few deep breaths she peeled them open again, but nothing changed, and she began to panic. With only one thing on her mind, she was now determined to fight with everything she had.

Sprinting across the open field, no one noticed me; they were too busy fighting, and killing. She made her way through the endless trees searching for my mother.

Hiding behind a thick tree, she heard someone coming near. She peeked out from behind the bark; it was her father's wolf.

"Papa!" she called.

His wolf's eyes went wide when he saw me, filled with pure terror and regret. Fiona shook her head frantically, and tears slid down her face. All of a sudden another wolf tackled her father, teeth ripping into his throat in a flash.

"Papa... Papa... no!" I cried as his lifeless body lay limp on the forest floor. Prying my eyes off his, she couldn't make herself look any longer. Her father, he's gone forever.

The wolf that attacked him turned towards her with pure evil and rage in its eyes, his eyes striking and iridescently glowing.

With no brake to even mourn the loss of her father, they started running towards her, and she waited for the impact with her eyes shut. She waited for her death as a weak wolf would, yet it never came.

Her father's cold, dead eyes fogged her brain, making it impossible to stay focused.

What was she supposed to do? She could barely take the aching pain in her heart as it slowly ate at her soul, but she kept running as tears fell down her cheeks. She wanted to scream; she wanted to go out there and rip every single one of those damn Kings to pieces.
