Rogue’s Challenge (Vera's POV)

My wolf snarled, claws itching as the rogue lunged, his jagged moonstone shard glowing like a cursed star in the Starfang stronghold’s shadowy hall.

Moonlight sliced through the air, catching his wild eyes. My necklace burned against my chest, its star-and-moon pendant pulsing, urging my alpha blood to roar.

How the hell did he get a piece of Starfang’s relic? My heart pounded, Gideon’s mind-link echoing: Stay sharp, little wolf.

I bared my teeth, ready to tear him apart.

I dodged his swipe, my boots skidding on the stone floor. His claws grazed the air, close enough to sting my cheek. The moonstone’s heat surged, my alpha aura flaring, a wildfire in my veins.

Flashes of my past life hit hard—Lana’s manic grin, Damon’s silver chains searing my wrists, their laughter as they broke me. Not this time.

I growled, ducking under his arm, my claws slashing his side. Blood sprayed, sharp and coppery, but he didn’t slow down, his shard pulsing brighter.

Mother’s Redemption (Eleanor’s POV)I stumbled into Starfang’s healer’s den, the air thick with herbal smoke as dusk settled. I raised my shirt a bit to reveal a nasty gash.I had been hurt trying to fend off two wolves at the same time. Luckily Max came to my rescue before things could get out of hand.Just as I was about to call for a healer, a Shadowfang wolf lunged, his blade pressing against my throat but I caught his hand before he could deal any damage. “Vera!” I screamed before I could think, heart pounding. The door crashed open. Vera burst in, her emerald eyes glowing as she tackled the attacker, slashing his throat, as blood sprayed. “I’ve got you,” she panted, pulling me back. I gasped, clutching my neck, relief flooding me.I nodded, shame burning my chest. “I misjudged you,” I admitted, voice shaky. She smiled, helping me up. “It’s okay, Mom,” she said softly. My eyes watered—I’d been wrong.“How did he get in?” Vera asked glancing at the corpse.“I don't know, I came

Betrayal’s Edge (Vera's POV)I stood in Starfang’s training grounds, the mud squelching under my boots as rain dripped from the late afternoon sky. My heart stopped as Damon’s scent hit me—sharp and vile. He has really aligned himself with Shadowfang. Not that I should expect any less from him, but after his disappearance I wasn't sure when he will show up again. He smirked, flanked by Shadowfang wolves. “Miss me?” he taunted, his voice dripping with mockery.Rage boiled in my chest. I gripped the shards, my eyes flaring. “You’re dead!” I snarled. Gabriel roared beside me, charging forward. His amber eyes blazed as he slashed at a wolf. “Get him!” I yelled, fingers flying over my phone to hack a defense grid. The grid buzzed, slowing Shadowfang’s advance. Mud splashed as I lunged at Damon. He laughed, dodging my claws. “Still weak,” he sneered. My aura flared, hot and wild. I struck again, punching him across the face then landing another one in the stomach, overpowering him. He s

Pack Pact (Gabriel's POV)I stormed into Nightmoor’s war hall, the shards clutched tight in my fist. The stone walls flickered with torchlight, midday sun barely piercing the gloom. “We unite now!” I growled, slamming the table. Starfang and Nightmoor leaders stared, tension thick. It was difficult to get Starfang pack to come over but it was marginally easy with their future leader being my mate. But one look at their face, I could tell they didn't want to be here. I had already briefed Vera of my plans and she agrees that will be the best thing to do in our current situation.Vera stepped forward, her emerald eyes blazing. “One pack, one fight,” she said, voice steady. I grinned, her strength fueling me. I knew I could always count on her.Gideon grunted, nodding slowly. “Fine,” he muttered, easing the air. The packs murmured, hope flickering.I blinked in surprise at the way he readily agreed. It was unusual for him to just agree. I know how much he despised my pack and yet he di

The united shards glowed in my grip, my heart pounding. “Hold them!” I yelled, claws slashing the air. My eyes flared, adrenaline kicking in. There has been this sense of great power coursing through my body ever since I united the shards. And now with Shadowfang attacking us, there's no better time to figure out what having the shards together entails.Gabriel roared beside me, his amber eyes wild. He tore through a wolf’s fur, blood spraying. “Flank left!” he shouted, his pine scent mixing with the metallic tang. I nodded, hacking my phone to jam their signals. They may not be tech savvy as Moonveil pack, but that doesn't mean they're bad at tech either. The pack scrambled, Jace and Dax clashing with snarling beasts. A massive wolf from Shadowfang’s pack lunged, pinning Eleanor. “No!” I screamed, diving in. My fingers flew over the screen, triggeri

I was scared that she will never see the light, but it seems there was nothing to be worried about.I'm just glad most of us survived the threat and I had my mom back.Gideon nodded at Gabriel, his stern face softening. “Good work,” he grunted. Gabriel grinned, as Gideon clapped him on the shoulder. The pack buzzed, acceptance growing. Shadow’s Revelation (Gabriel's POV)Vera gripped the shard tight, its glow pulsing in her hand. Moonveil’s ruined sanctum smoked around us, tech sparking. Vera knelt by Selene, her breath ragged. “She’s down,” Vera muttered, her emerald eyes flickering. My heart thudded—victory was close.Selene coughed, blood on her lips. “Shadowfang has a fourth shard,” she gasped, her voice breaking. “They’ll destroy all packs.” My blood ran cold, claws twitching. Vera tensed, her aura flaring.“Is this some kind of script or what? You said all these before.” Vera remarked already bored with her antics to stall us.“Explain!” I barked, stepping closer. Selene smirked weakly, clutching her side. “They’re ancient—worse than us,” she rasped. I growled. This changed everything.Vera’s eyes glowed, debating mercy. She glanced at me, conflicted. “What do we do with her?” she whispered. I rested my hand on her shoulder, firm but gentle. “Your call,” I said, my voice steady. Her warmth steadied me.She r
