VIVIAN

Getting a call from my so called friend, Vivian, was not my go to for today.

"Baby do you know what I got today?"

"No but I'm hoping it's good news."

"Nope, not at all. You are being called to the office by your mom and I'm supposed to be there also. but so are Killian and Vivian."

"Damn it. Let's go baby."

When we get to the office everyone stops what they were doing to look at us. And that was exactly when I remember what happened yesterday. My face heats and I hope its not red from whatever it is playing in my mind.

Christopher, my dear husband, currently finds this situation funny.

"Stop laughing or I'm getting a divorce. I wonder how you will laugh in that moment." And guess what ladies and gentlemen that is a threat that would sure make him fold like a pretzel.

Now looking closely I can see that not all stares are friendly. Some are downright menacing while some are bored. But my least favorite ones are the ones that are calculated and amongst them is Vivian.

She fixes her face when she realizes I'm looking at them and puts on a sweet smile that would have fooled me had I not known what a snake she is.

"Hi babes", she bounces over to me all happy. " Hello Viv."

She falters a bit since I did not meet her enthusiasm but quickly shuts it off. She hooks her hand in mine and tries to pull me away from Chris. I guess she came prepared because she was able to pull me away but before we disappeared around the corner I said, " Hey baby, if I was being kidnapped is that how you would act? I guess you don't want your wife safe."

He had this panicked look that made it all the more satisfying.

After we get to the elevator and it closes before anyone can reach us Vivian start her usual nonsense talk.

" Why are you so distant from me nowadays? Why didn't I get an invite to your wedding and why do you look like you no longer need me?" honestly her questions are valid. If I don't want her and Killian figuring out that I know what they are up to I need to be friendly with them like I would have in the past.

" I'm sorry for being so distant. it was never my intention and as for the wedding, we got married in the courthouse so no ceremony yet but when we have a ceremony I'll be sure to invite you personally. And it's not like I no longer need you, it's just that I have not been feeling great lately so I'm going to get checked for anything." Her eyes sparkle like she hit gold. I know she thinks I'm pregnant which is what I want her to think but Chris and I use protection, well we have been using it since we started getting intimate, but I think soon we'd be bare. Only after this whole shenanigans are through.

In the office we find everyone already there. I shoot Vivian a look she can't see because she is fixed on Killian and I apologize for making everyone wait.

Christopher stands up from his chair so I can sit on it while he stands behind me just as his father is doing for her mom but Killian is a whole different breed.

And just like that the meeting starts
