Se connecter“I want to have breakfast with everyone in the pack house.”
Odessa said to George as she walked into the elevator with a bright smile. It had been a week since she got married to Desmond. And she had been the happiest she had ever been in her present and past life combined. “Are you sure, my Luna? You can just have breakfast on your floor since my Alpha is at the border.” “It'll be nice to see you eating with them after all these days,” George said. But she only ignored him and headed towards the main dining hall, which was already teeming with people. As everyone saw her, most of them bowed, and the others ignored her like they didn't even notice her presence, whereas they did. Odessa wasn't expecting such cold treatment. But she wasn't really shocked because she knew most women wouldn't like her for being Luna. “Would you like to return to your floor? I'll tell my Alpha about their behavior once he returns.” “No need to do that.” She stopped him. “You don't expect everyone to like me. I prefer people openly disliking me to faking their love.” “I don't appreciate that at all. So there won't be any need to bother Desmond about it once he arrives.” George nodded gently as he watched her walk over to the table to serve herself. George knew she didn't require any protection, but he was only with her since Desmond ordered him to. She was capable of taking care of herself. Odessa wasn't shocked by most of the hostility she was getting. Besides, she was used to it, and she barely left her floor, so they would have different opinions about her. And she believed strongly in freedom of opinion, no matter how absurd it sounded. “These snobs are irritating. Don't these people know the right way to address someone in their midst?” Aria rolled her eyes in anger as she looked around along with Odessa. Odessa thought she was the only one being irritated when it wasn't only her. “Good morning, my Luna.” One of the maids behind the large table filled with a variety of food bowed to her with a bright smile. “I hope you've been enjoying your stay here.” Odessa nodded with a bright smile before heading to a seat to quietly have breakfast and return to her floor for the rest of the day. This was very disappointing since she had everything on the floor provided for her. She looked out the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The sun was shining brightly. And it hadn't rained for the past three days now, and she wanted to use the opportunity to tour the entire pack. But Desmond had spoken to her against it, and she could only go with him around. “Isn't that just weird? You can always go with George, right?” Aria asked. “You don't know what he's keeping us from. It might be more dangerous than we think.” “And maybe because people outside are yet to be told I'm the Luna. Having him by my side when going out will explain everything.” Odessa explained gently. “That makes sense,” Aria replied. And just then she felt hands on her shoulders. She was about to push them off when she saw it was Desmond, who had a big smile on his face. “You didn't tell me you were having breakfast with others.” He said, sitting next to her, and she flashed him a smile. Some maids quickly served him some plates of food, and Odessa, knowing he wouldn't finish those, asked them to take most of it away. “Looks like my wife is getting to know me more than myself.” He teased. Everyone in the hall was shocked to see their Alpha smiling. He had never smiled for any reason, even if it was a joke. But now he was smiling at the lady before him as if he did it every day. “Are you sure that's the Alpha?” one whispered. “He is smiling. I've never seen him do that.” Desmond realized what those around them were doing, but he ignored them, acting childish before Odessa. “Come on, Desmond, we are outside.” Odessa cautioned. “You want me to take you up?” He asked, making an attempt to lift her, but she dodged him swiftly. “Come on, wifey, be a good boy now, Desmond.” She ruffled his hair, and he nodded before focusing on his food. “Can we go out and tour the pack?” She looked at him with her puppy eyes. As she said that, Desmond turned to her with a raised brow. “Why should we go?” He asked her with a tilted head. “You have everything you want in the pack house. There's no need to leave the pack house for any reason.” Odessa pouted. “I want to see the pack now that it isn't raining most days. I'd like to see the entire pack. I can't live somewhere without knowing how the entire place looks, you know.” She explained to him, and he seemed to think of it for a few minutes before finally giving in. “Fine. We'll go tonight when I'm done with the day's work.” He agreed with a sigh. And she squealed before throwing her arms around him in a hug, not caring about those around them. “Can I get a kiss on the lips instead?” “Desmond!” “Okay, okay.” He laughed. Night came, and Odessa was dressed in a cozy dress and furry coat since it was still cold despite it not raining. Her hair was up in a beautiful bun, a hairpin in it. “What's the occasion?” Aria asked as she saw her in the mirror looking all beautiful. “Were you asleep when Desmond said he would take us out, or you're just mocking me right now?” Odessa frowned. “I'd like to tease you from time to time, but your lovely, lovely thing made me fall asleep, and I didn't catch the part. He said that to you?” Aria bluntly replied. “Whatever.” Odessa rolled her eyes before stepping out of the dressing room. She saw Desmond standing at the door, looking down at his watch. “I'm ready.” She called out, and he looked at her from head to toe before licking his lips with a smirk. “Why are you doing that?” “You look smoking hot.” He complimented with a smirk, and she blushed a little as he walked over to her, placing a kiss on her forehead before stretching his hand out for her to take. “We'll be having night walks, but we'll take the car. I have some interesting spots to show you.” George helped her into the car, securing her into the front seat like she was a baby before Desmond drove out of the pack house. “What's gotten over the Alpha?” Two figures stood on the nobles' floor, obviously females, but their faces were hidden in the darkness of the night. “She must have spelled him. I tried every charm of mine on him, and nothing worked against him.” “Now she is there, enjoying what should be mine.” “It's only a matter of time, Odessa. Enjoy as much as you can.” The other figure said with a low and sinister chuckle. Odessa squealed with excitement as Desmond took her to the street food stalls to try out the pack's street foods, and she fell in love with them instantly. Nothing beat street food. She hummed as she took another bite. “Are you trying to say my food sucks?” He raised a brow, but she ignored him, munching on the meatballs attached to the skewers in her hand. A smile appeared on Desmond's lips as he watched her. For a brief second, everything seemed to go into slow motion as he watched her. The breeze lifted her loose strands. Strangely, her scent filled his senses stronger than it usually did. “What's wrong?” She asked him, the skewer midway to her mouth. “Do I have something on my face?” She whispered, trying to get something to look at her face. “No. You look beautiful. Very beautiful.” He said, his tone just above a whisper. “Thank you.” She replied before continuing with her food, not minding anyone around. “Goodness, I'm full.” She gasped, leaning back into her chair after eating ten skewers of meatballs and a whole glass of traditional juice. “You should have left space for more. There's still a lot of food stalls we'll be going to. Since you're full, maybe not today.” He said. And a pout appeared on her face. “All right, all right. Let's take a walk to help you digest the food before going to another.” “Okay.” She nodded like an excited baby before they started to walk with bright smiles. She dashed down the path they were walking on, and just then it slowly started to rain. Desmond watched her like she was the best thing he could watch. As she danced in the drizzling rain, everything around her went slow again. Her scent filled his senses again, this time waking his wolf from his slumber. “Mate.”“I want to have breakfast with everyone in the pack house.” Odessa said to George as she walked into the elevator with a bright smile. It had been a week since she got married to Desmond. And she had been the happiest she had ever been in her present and past life combined. “Are you sure, my Luna? There was silence between the two as Odessa wiped off the wounds on his hands. It was like he got into a battle with some animals, and he wasn't healing on time. She quietly cleaned them, expecting him to tell her where he got the wounds from, but they both kept mute. “So you won't tell me what caused these bruises and wounds?” She said to him, making him look at her. But he buried his head, looking down at the floor. “Desmond,” she called, and he slowly looked up at her. “Answer me, will you?” “You'll just leave like the rest of them if I tell you.” He replied calmly, and at the same time, anger hinted in his tone. “They haven't even learned who I am, and they all ran from me. How am I sure you won't do the same when you find out?” “Who's telling you that nonsense?” She looked at him with a raised brow and a frown. “Do I look like someone who will judge you for anything?” “But you do look like someone who can beat me up for anything.” He mumbled, and for the first time
After the stressful day at the wedding hall, Odessa was finally able to go back to the room. Desmond was still down, talking to some people. And he had asked her to go take some rest if she wanted to. Odessa was stunned to see the two beds in the room gone and now replaced by a king-sized bed, which looked like it had just been neatly set. “Looks like you've really found your way deep into his heart for him to pick up you two sleeping together after marriage and not apart,” Aria chuckled teasingly. “Every husband and wife sleeps in the same bed. He'll be really dumb not to let that happen.” Odessa rolled her eyes as she headed into the bathroom, pulling off her clothes as she could. “Says the one who just enjoyed his kiss and couldn't deny it.” Aria teased again, and Odessa just let out a sigh of defeat. This would never be the end of the discussion of that kiss. “Okay, that's enough, Aria. It's embarrassing enough.” As she stepped out of the bathroom after cleaning up, sh
Odessa stood in front of the large floor-to-ceiling mirror in the main living room on their floor, not believing the day they had picked for the wedding had arrived. She still thought this was all a sarcastic comment till she saw the guests start arriving since the previous day. “Is this tight enough, my lady?” the seamstress asked her. She was helping Odessa into her red dress, which was the tradition of the pack. Any woman who was to be married to her husband-to-be would wear the red dress. “Or do you want me to—” “I'm going to choke. Please loosen it a little,” Odessa said, her voice just above a whisper, and the seamstress immediately did as she was asked. “That's much better.” Odessa sighed before looking at her reflection in the mirror. The dress was adorned with thousands of crystals, and the dress was very light and fitted her shape perfectly. Her hair was up in a majestic bun with red crystals and jewels hung in her hair. She looked more elegant than she usually did
Odessa sat opposite Desmond at the dining table for breakfast. The only sounds that could be heard were the faint connection of their cutleries and plates. Besides that, there was nothing but silence in the room till Odessa spoke up. “Alpha Devon told me I'm only here to give you an heir.” As she said that, he paused. After a few seconds, he continued like he did not hear what she said, and it annoyed her, but she didn't say a word and just started eating again. “So what do you think about it?” He finally said, making her look up at him with a raised brow. “What do you think about having an heir for me?” “Well, I don't have any bad thoughts towards it.” She replied, sipping from her glass of juice, her gaze focused on him. “But what's in it for me?” Her question shocked him, and for the first time since she arrived, she saw him smirk. “What's in it for you? You're a pawn in Alpha Devon's game, so you're only here so he can get his rewards.” He pointed out, and that made h
A scream escaped her lips as she saw that, and the lights were immediately flicked on. Desmond was standing there at the kitchen island, staring at her with a raised brow. “What were you so scared about?” he asked her, looking down at her fingers, which were being twisted in front of her. “I'm sorry. I was scared.” She let out a sigh of relief before looking around the kitchen, which looked beautiful. The kitchen island was in the middle of the room, a part of the wall glass from wall to ceiling, overlooking the forest behind the pack house. Although it was still raining outside, the outside was brightly lit with lamps all around. “If you're hungry, you can just make yourself something to eat.” He was oddly calm from the rumors she had heard about him. She stared right at him and didn't move from the spot she was, and this made him look in her direction again. “I would kill you on the spot if I wanted to kill you without you knowing, but it'll only be useless to me,” he said.
