Chapter Three
Kira’s POV
I glared at my reflectionChapter Two
Kira’s POV
I listened feeling sharp pains of betrayal clawing at my bleeding heart.
"You have the guts to steal the one I love, Leila," my lips shook as they moved.
Declan wrapped his hands around Leila's waist and I couldn't feel my body. The continuous pounding of my heart refused to stop. It was as if my heart was about to explode without me knowing.
"Declan was never yours. Cut off all these drama," Leila snapped. “You’re only finding out now because you were too naive to see in the first place.” My heart throbbed painfully in my chest as they literally groped the other.
This is torture. I could see it now. All these while I didn't see it. Or maybe I did and just didn't read meaning into it because I never thought my best friend, the one I took as my sister would stab me in the back this way. The hurt was too much.
I drifted my eyes away from them as tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn't believe Leila could do this to me.
“Declan and I have been dating way before I introduced him to you… the plan was to get you here in this pathetic state, and not that we have what we want, the throne, we no longer need you.”
My heart literally shattered into pieces at her utterance, but most of all I felt rage. A red blinding rage coursing through my veins.
I tugged at the restraints around my hands and was about to attack Leila when suddenly the door flung open and two bulky men entered. They didn't utter a word to anyone but simply moved closer to me, seizing me up by my arms.
"Let me go, let me go," I tried struggling out of their grips but they held me tighter.
I was practically dragged into the large hall where a few old men who were the elders of the pack sat at a large table and a few members stood behind them, awaiting my trial.
When exactly did my life come to this? They rambled on and on about crimes I didn’t commit and whenever I tried to defend myself, I was smacked across the face by Declan.
"You are sentenced to death. A murderer should not be spared," I listened as the eldest elder pronounced the sentence on me.
"Kill her!" Declan commanded the body guards and they instinctively drew out their swords at his command. My body was tied to a pole and I was made to face the councils of elders.
Each of them looked at me with their aging eyes. I gulped and coughed out blood from my mouth. The severe beating I was given after I was dragged down from the forest made every part of my body throb.
It shook my body to the core, making me practically too weak to try defending myself anymore. Even if I wanted to, no one would listen.
It was Declan’s word against mine, their new alpha’s words against a shallow mentally deranged person who couldn’t bear the thought of losing her throne.
"Please, don't kill me," I pleaded with blood dripping from my mouth. My eyes were closing slowly as I was already losing strength.
I felt the sharp edge of the sword on my neck and goose bumps appeared all over my body. My hair stood and my body shivered.
Before the sword plummeted onto my neck, the last thing I saw was Leila pulling Declan into an embrace.
The scene tugged at my heart and broke my soul. The fact that they had to go to these lengths to get my throne baffled me but now I was calm. Calm because I would finally have the peace I have always longed for.
After breaking out of the embrace, I could hear Leila chuckle and mumble something along the lines of;
"Finally, her reign will come to an end. Now, I will be the Luna of the pack. I'm someone who doesn't have the blood of others in her hands."
The words that she spew made my blood run cold. She was never my friend and had never liked me. Tears leaked out of my eyes and blurred my vision; even my heart hammered against my chest frantically.
"Declan…," I called out with a weak voice. "Leila…," those were the only words I could utter before I heard a slashing sound, accompanied by a sudden sharp pain that made me shudder.
I let out a loud gasp of agony. Declan had slashed me in my weakest point- my left side. At that moment I regretted ever been so foolish. My eyes blinked and I tried so hard to keep them open but with each passing second,my breath became shallow.
"De-De-Declan." I coughed out blood. Raw pain shook my innards. With so much strength, I muttered my last words.
"You-you wi-wi-will regret this."
I didn’t know what happened after that because I immediately felt my spirit move out of my body.

"A sweet smelling savor hit my nostrils as I tried getting up from where I was lying. I heard a rumbling sound in the sky. The splashes of rain hit the windows and the wind caused the curtains to move in its direction.
""Where am I?" I asked myself. My eyes widened in surprise.
What am I doing here? A sprinting headache struck my head as I tried remembering.
This room…it looked familiar. When I was still trying to recall, the door clinked open and I clinged onto the bed sheets.
"You are awake," a calm and soothing voice called out and a teenage girl of about fifteen years old, walked into the room with a cup of coffee in her hand.
My body ached slightly. My feet touched the floor and I staggered, almost falling back onto the bed. The girl rushed towards me, placing the cup on the table beside my bed and helped me from falling.
"You aren't supposed to stress yourself, sis. You are still recovering."
"Sis?" My mind drifted away for a few seconds and something struck my mind. "Amber?" I called out, staring at her with a shocked face.
She looked just like she did two years ago, shortly before the accident she got into with father. What the hell was happening? She’s supposed to be dead…
"Is everything okay, Kira? I know you are still recovering but are you sure you are fine?" Her series of questions threw me off balance and my lips managed to utter words I couldn't understand.
"I'm fine. I just need to …," I snapped but my head began spinning. Something came over me and I got up again, not minding my weak legs.
From the wardrobe to everywhere my hand could lay on, I scattered everything in it. I pulled out the drawer and threw out the documents that were laying in it.
"Are you going nuts? Kira, what are you doing?" Amber yelled with a high pitch and tried pulling me away but I pushed her and she fell on her back.
This whole thing doesn't make sense, I need something to confirm my fear.
"I should call father. Maybe you need to be taken to the hospital or something," Amber lamented with panic in her voice. I heard tiny sounds of footsteps leaving the room but I totally ignored her.
My hand rested on a phone, finally I found what I was searching for. My shaky fingers slid through the power button and my eyes widened at what I saw.
The phone fell off my hand and I stood motionless. I stared at the spotless mirror and held my face.
"July 19, 2017?" I gasped. Everything made sense now. I was either in the afterlife or probably back in time.
"There’s no afterlife for you now doll face, this is definitely your past," a voice sneered from the back of my head and I spun around, wondering who it was.
Amber was no longer here and no one was here either. So who the hell was—?
"Do I have to introduce myself to you again? Is your brain back in time too?" she spat sassily. From the way she talked I already knew who it was.
It was Ayla, my inner wolf.
"Ayla?"
“Oh she’s suddenly so bright, she remembers now!” Her sarcastic comment rang through my head like an echo.
I ignored her this time though, for I was preoccupied with something else. Something more worth my time, and that was what I intended to do now that I’ve been brought back to back to life.
I slowly stepped away from the mirror, whilst plotting new different ways to get my revenge…
in the mirror, taking in my general look and noting how vulnerable I really looked.
No wonder Declan and Leila saw me as gullible, gullible enough that they decided to use me. But now I was different, it was different. People would die this time and blood will spill.
Those who pretend to love me will not be spared.
How does revenge taste with a touch of blood? How does it taste paying back someone in his/her own coin? I will not let myself move towards the edge of foolishness in my new life.
I had been awake since midnight, thinking about a lot of things. Even if I had been sleeping, the footsteps moving closer to my door would have startled me.
The bright red lipstick on my hand moved smoothly on my thin lips as I prepared for unseen events. The door clicked open and my eyes moved quickly from the mirror to the being standing in front of my door.
"Your father wants to meet with you. He is waiting in the chamber room right now," the servant announced and I tapped my fingers against the table in front of me.
I titled my head, examined him from his head to his toes and asked, "What does he want?"
"That I don't know, but it's something relating to the Pack," he bowed slightly and wanted to turn to leave when I stopped him.
"Tell him I would come to see him later," I ordered him and he looked at me as if his eyes wanted to fall out from its socket.
"But…your father…," he stuttered, trying to make me see reasons with him. I raised my left hand and hushed him.
"No, buts. I will see him later. There’s a place I need to be at," I raised my voice at him and he put up his hand, surrendering to my command.
The servant nodded and left to deliver my message. My eyes looked at him in pity as he walked away, dragging his feet on the floor.
I knew what my father wanted to tell me. This event had happened in my previous life and nothing could catch me unaware now.
It was also on this day that he had met with an accident. The accident that took his life and that of Amber; but now I was confused. I didn’t know whether to stop them or not.
I wasn’t sure if it was going to alter the entire plan.
My phone suddenly rang and I jolted in surprise. As I was about to pick up the call, the door of my room flung open and I raised my eyes from my phone.
My father stood in front of my door like the deadly beast he was. He looked at me with those eyes that I got from him. Those dangerous eyes.
"Why would you ignore my order, Kira?" he growled and a rush of irritation crawled through my body.
“I need to be somewhere father, and I’ll be back before you know it." I said bluntly.
Kira's POVIt's been a month since the Blackstone pack got rid of its plotters, a month since Elizabeth died. Leila and Declan have since been locked up in the dungeon awaiting their trial. There was no need to hurry it up, it's not like they would ever get an escape from there. Their sentence would be judged based on their two times attempted murder and plotting against the throne. I wish them nothing but the best in their forthcoming trial. After the deed, Xander got to investigate on the fraud Elizabeth had engaged in while she ruled as the CEO of his father's company. It didn't take long before he got his rightful position back and took over his inheritance. I was thrilled for him, as for Mira, I had to have her released. She didn't really do much, even though she had kidnapped me. I didn't need to tell the pack council that. Uncle John kept to his promise and has been visiting from time to time. He and my mum seem to enjoy spending time together playing Scrabble. I'm glad she
Kira's POVXander didn't wait for me to explain further, he said he was on his way. I wanted to avoid making any hasty decisions without the key members of the pack. In less than thirty minutes, the large meeting room was filled up with every member of the pack council and Xander. “Why did you call a meeting all of a sudden, princess Kira?” Zeta Felix inquired.Asking for them to wait for me, I called in John to repeat his information about Elizabeth and the rest to them. Which he repeated without mincing a word. They couldn't doubt him, my father had ensured the pack members could trust the rogues with their words. Beta Mason scoffed, “how dare them even think of going up against us? Such audacity!” “What should we do now? Should we go after them?” Asked Felix.I sighed, turning towards John. “What do you advise we do uncle?” He shrugged, “there is much to do, I have no intention of taking my men on a fruitless journey. So, since you won't be crossing anybody's territory without
Kira's POVI feel like whatever it is that has brought uncle John to the pack house must be vital. Whatever it is I can only hope it would be of help to the course on the ground. The entire pack has been on high alert for the past week over the escape of the pack traitors. Knowing they wouldn't give up and might be planning something big against us. I have asked the zeta to engage in rigorous training with the soldiers. They need to be as prepared as possible. After lunch, John asked to have a word with my mum and me. Amber left reluctantly, I am sure she is just as keen to know what he has to say just like every one of us. Calling him into the study with my mum, we all settled on the couch waiting for him to speak. John cleared his throat, clasping his hands together. “I want to start by saying that this family means a lot to me, and I am not just saying this to sweet talk you. Kendrick made me understand that being different from the rest of the people doesn't mean you must be evil
Author's POVJohn got lost in thought as he drove towards the pack house. He couldn't seem to feel sorry for Elizabeth. She deserves whatever comes to her, he never would have thought that a time would come when he would be able to look her in the eyes without breaking down. John would have never imagined himself to be a lover. But then love knows no rogue or anyone else, as soon as your heart finds interest in someone. You are doomed and nothing else helps. He didn't get a chance at finding a mate, which implies he could choose any woman to be with. His treacherous heart had him fooled by Elizabeth, and he fell for her with no caution. For some reason known to her alone, Elizabeth comes to drink at the usual spot of the rogues. He had noticed her countless times, she would sit alone drink herself to stupor and somehow find her way home. The day he finally got the courage to approach her, she was still on her first bottle. That was how he got to know of her husband's maltreatment. Jo
Author's POVTaking another look at his wristwatch, Declan's heart remained unsettled as he thought about what would become of him is John refused to show up. It's almost noon, and he still hasn't caught a glimpse of him. His eyes continue to glance at his mother, who seems to be having a swell time mocking him. This might probably be the end of Declan ever trying to do things on his own if a flop occurs. Gripping the edge of his chair tightly, he exhaled. “Are we going to sit here all day waiting for no one to show up?” Elizabeth inquired. “It's not noon yet, Elizabeth. There is still plenty of time to be patient.” Leila chipped in, tired of Elizabeth gloating about her ability. Leila wants Declan to have enough control, which would put Elizabeth on the sideline and give her more power. She wished more than anyone that John would arrive and show his support to Declan. Standing up, she patted his back to comfort him. “What if he doesn't come?” He asked her. She shook her head, wh
Author's POVRunning as fast as his legs could carry him, Declan moved at the full speed of rage. When he got to the rogues' territory, he was beginning to feel fear at how tough the guards looked. Bracing himself, he walked towards them with a determined stride.“Where do you think you are going?” One of the guards said in a tough voice. Declan held his gaze, “I want to see your leader, John.”The guards stared at each other, laughing, one of them said. “you have got a lot of nerve to come in front of us and seek for our leader. Who are you?” “Tell him, I am Declan, the son of Elizabeth and the next Alpha of Blackstone pack. And I won't leave here until he talks to me.” They burst into another fit of laughter, wondering if he was crazy. Their laughter faded at the sight of his determined look. Whispering to one another, one of them ran into the pack to find their leader. John was seated in front of his cabin, enjoying the atmosphere, with the damsel next to him massaging his feet.
