MasukRoman's POV
My ears rang as Mira's words echoed in the hall. Total disbelief froze me in place. She was rejecting me? In front of my pack? The silent hall almost immediately became the wave of whispers. They might be laughing at me. My blood boiled. I only saw red. A blaze of fire ran in my veins as I stepped toward her. "Roman!" My mother’s voice cut through the noise from behind me, a desperate attempt to stop me from losing control. I grabbed Mira's arm tightly, almost sinking my nails in her skin. She didn't hiss in pain. Her eyes were unwavering as if she were used to it. "What game are you playing, huh?" I murmured coldly, glaring down at her. But her smirk didn't fade. She was enjoying my frustration, feeding off my fury. She was a fool if she thought a low-ranking Omega could actually reject an Alpha. The laws of the pack didn't work that way; only high ranks had that kind of power. "What happened, Alpha Roman? Are you not happy? I am doing this only for you," Mira replied, tilting her head. Her every word and movement now felt sarcastic to me. I wondered what had happened to her suddenly. She was all over me yesterday. For the last two years, she was dying to get my attention, doing silly things just to be noticed by me. But tonight… She was behaving like a different person. I looked into her eyes and found them very strange. She looked fearless. Her eyes were holding something I could not understand. There was a dangerous spark in her gaze that I couldn't read, and it definitely wasn't the worship she used to look at me with. There was more, something unreadable, something very tainted for me. "Take the vows," I warned her, my voice dropping to a lethal whisper. She yanked her arm out of my grip. "In your dreams, Alpha Roman." I stared at my empty hand hanging in midair, then looked back at her. She used to yearn for my one touch. Whenever she came to my company with food she made, I never let her in. There were times when she stayed outside the company till dark just to give me flowers. One touch of my skin against hers used to make her blush. It meant everything to her. But today... She pretended like my touch disgusted her! "Mira, what's wrong with you?" My grandfather, Alpha Raxon, spoke with a disappointed tone. I stared at the girl in front of me, my face twisted with pure rage. She turned to Grandpa and bowed to him. "I am sorry, Alpha Raxon. Forgive me for my audacity. But I don't want to marry Alpha Roman. We are not meant to be with each other." I lost all of my patience as I growled. My growl almost shook the stage and the people around me. I could see Mira's knees trembling, but she quickly composed herself, standing straight. I averted my gaze from her and looked at the guests. I felt humiliated. The guests were important people to me. "Have you all heard her? An orphan, an omega, and an ordinary girl who is nothing in front of me... are saying this!" The guests nodded their heads as they agreed with me. She had no right to reject me. She not only dared to do this but also tried to destroy my reputation as the head Alpha. I thought she would cry while holding my knees to take her back. I was waiting for her to begin. However, to my surprise, she chuckled. She nodded her head at the guests and said, “Whatever your alpha is saying is right. I have no right. So the wedding is over.” I was in disbelief. She was not begging me? She was the one who really wanted to call off the wedding! A strange, ugly feeling flared up in my chest, fueling my rage. If this wedding was getting canceled, it should have been on my terms. She didn't have the right to reject me. My beta, Axel, quickly announced, "The wedding is over. You can take your leave. Alpha needs to have a private conversation with his family." The guests didn't dare to record any video or click a picture. Since it was the head Alpha's wedding, there was high security in the wedding hall. They had to abide by every rule to keep their lives stable in the pack. But I knew words would go out of this hall. The orphanage director, Mrs. Collin, stormed the stage, making her way to Mira. "How dare you betray Alpha Roman! You're trying to ruin his reputation!" She raised her hand to slap Mira, but Mira didn't even flinch. She grabbed her hand before it reached her cheek. "Keep your hand to yourself. You want me to marry him so that your orphanage can get more donations, right?" she asked the director. Mrs. Collin looked embarrassed after hearing Mira. "You are done at the orphanage," she declared angrily. "Never show your face there again. We don't want Alpha Roman to shut down our property because of you." Mira scoffed at her. "No problem. I never got princess treatment in the orphanage anyway." I was really shocked to see her savage replies. She had always been an obedient girl. How did she suddenly change overnight? She seemed to become a new person who gained new confidence. Cold laughter escaped from my mouth. The official wolves trembled by it. They lowered their heads as they understood how infuriated I was. My parents were holding back. My grandfather had lost his words. I would talk to him later. The wedding was all his plan; now how would he explain things to me? "I can cut your wings. Don't forget that if I want, I can kill you too," I warned Mira. She stepped toward me with a fearless expression. "You have killed me already. This is a new woman who doesn't care about you, doesn't even love you anymore." I was taken aback. Had she lost her mind? What was she saying? However I never wanted to marry her. So if she wanted to cancel this wedding, it was a win-win situation for me. I never liked her, not a single bit. Making her my Luna was always a forced decision on me by my grandfather. If I wanted, I could kill her right here for her audacity. But I also wanted to get away from her and it was a great chance for me. After giving her one last long look, I stormed out of the wedding hall. I knew she would beg me in two days, asking me to marry her. What did she want? Money? She could've asked me instead. But it’s too late now. When she would beg me, I would not accept her back. If she wanted to play with fire, she was going to burn in it. I drove to a club because I needed a drink. My friends were already there to distract my mind. "Roman, finally Mira left your life. Now you are free from that weak omega. She was a burden to you as your mate." "Exactly! He's Roman Ashford! He doesn't need to worry about women. It's Mira who should be worried." For some unknown reason, I didn't feel good hearing them. I always wanted to get rid of that girl. But when she humiliated me before my people, it engraved in my mind. My eyes darkened as I pushed the thoughts away. “She is nothing but a low-key omega in my eyes,” I muttered. As I grabbed a drink, my phone vibrated on the small table near me. I noticed the caller ID. "Lycan King" The boys around me gasped to see the Lycan King himself called me. "Take the call; we are leaving for a while." They walked away from me. I was already disturbed, trying to control my rage through the drink. I put the glass on the table. I lit a cigarette before picking up the call. A strong, heavy voice came out of the other end. “Roman, my son!” “King Elias,” I greeted with a polite tone, taking a long drag of smoke. But my fingers paused around the cigarette against my lips when King Elias said, “I finally found my lost daughter. She is in your territory.”Mira's POVRoman's family was mad at me. They said what I did was a humiliation to the Ashford family and they would not let it go easily.Only Roman's grandfather, Alpha Raxon, was on my side. He stopped Roman's parents to punish me."I will talk to you later. Now you can leave," he told me, permitting me to leave the hall without getting any harm."Dad, are you giving her an opportunity to escape? Why? She ruined my son's life!" Roman's mother, Carol grumbled.Alpha Raxon frowned at her, showing disapproval. "I am sure Roman did something to make her make this decision."I smiled at Alpha Raxon. I was really grateful to him. In my past life, if someone was on my side, it was only Alpha Raxon. He knew me well; he had seen my love for his grandson. He never taunted me for being an omega or an orphan.I bowed to Alpha Raxon. After taking a long breath, I replied, "Grandpa, I made the decision to save my life."He didn't say anything, as disappointment was visible in his eyes to me. I l

Yira stared at me like I'd lost my mind. Before she could ask me anything, the door of the room swung open.I turned my head and saw Beta Axel. His eyes drew to me, and he spoke coldly."Alpha has arrived at the hall. Why are you still here? You need to come to the hall right now."There was a commanding tone in his voice that didn't go unnoticed by me.I felt like deja vu. I knew what had happened after that. The reason why I was in the room was I fainted from anxiety, thinking Roman would not show up at our wedding. But when I woke up, he was there. He was not happy with the wedding. Laura still hadn't come back yet, so he somehow married me."Are you listening? Come out fast!" The beta snapped me out of my thoughts.Beta Axel was rude to me. But he was not that bad; I realized it in my past life after marrying Roman."Tell your Alpha that he can keep waiting," I replied coldly, looking away from him.Axel was stunned. He frowned at me. Yira quickly got up and bowed to him. "Beta Ax
Mira’s POVThe heat in the warehouse crept into my skin, causing me to sweat. My whole body was a canvas of pain. I gasped, but instead of air, a warm surge of blood forced its way out of my mouth.“How long do we have to keep this woman alive?” A voice filled with disgust from the man who had been pounding a stick into my flesh.I was tied to a chair with countless wounds in my body. But the woman next to me made my blood run cold. She looked like a porcelain doll, perfect and untarnished beside me."Please let me go," I begged the men around me.I could smell their faint scents. They were lycans. I was in Lycan's territory, not my pack!In Brimstone City, there were two packs. My pack, Lunar Crest and the Lycan's territory, Zenith Fangs Pack. The lycans kidnapped me and dragged me into a dimly lit warehouse. They beat me so bad I could hardly breathe. I was almost half dead. The woman next to me looked me in the eye when she heard my screams. Instead of surprise, she threw her head
