Chapter 4 Who Is the Real Servant

Author: Precious Words
Evelyn's POV

I smoothed the creases out of my clothes, sat down, and flashed a dazzling smile as I said, "Sure."

Then, I pulled out my glasses from my bag and put them on before getting my books ready for the next class.

The merciful Moon Goddess had given me a second chance, and I was going to use my own strength to protect everyone who loved me.

Anna Savage, one of Judy's sidekicks, abruptly stood up. She wore a red-and-blue cheerleading outfit. Her long, honey-toned legs gleamed in the sunlight.

Her voice was sharp and mocking as she snapped at me, "You've got quite the nerve! How dare you disobey Young Master Wyatt's orders!"

"Who is he that I must obey his orders?" I remarked nonchalantly as I flipped through my textbook.

I was no longer the teenage she-wolf who was obsessed with Wyatt and willing to forego all of my pride just to please him.

To the current me, the most important thing was to throw myself back into my studies and become more powerful. I wasn't going to let myself be the butt of anyone's jokes anymore. I had to change the fate that led to Father's tragic death and our pack being seized by the wicked.

However, I'd long since forgotten everything I'd studied in school. I needed to hurry up and pick everything up again.

"The kind Young Master Wyatt has allowed an Omega like you to study with us, but that doesn't mean you can disobey your master!" Anna declared, her tone laced with arrogance and contempt.

To me, she sounded like a dog I used to raise, who would try to gain my attention and affection by making a whole lot of ruckus.

Back then, I wanted to prove to Father that I wasn't some fragile doll who needed to be protected but a warrior who could help him defend the pack. Because of that, I decided to keep my identity a secret while attending the Alliance Academy, so that I could undergo a stricter training regimen.

Chuckling, I shook my head. I didn't want to argue with Anna over such petty matters.

But at the very next second, my new textbook was snatched away and tossed onto the floor.

Only then did I look at the furious Anna. She stood there with her hands on her hips, stomping on my textbook with her shoes as she snapped, "You're just a servant working for Wyatt's family! You didn't even obey his order when he told you to buy lunch for your future mistress.

"Look at you now, pretending to study like everyone else. Can you even understand what you're reading?"

With a mocking smirk, I slowly looked at Wyatt, who was standing beside Judy, and asked softly, "Wyatt, did you tell everyone I'm your servant?"

Wyatt's POV

When Evelyn looked at me like that, I felt as if an Alpha were staring me down. There was a domineering pressure in her gaze that didn't allow for anyone to challenge her.

"I can't believe you let that useless loser without her own wolf intimidate you," Marcus, my wolf who was attuned to my thoughts, mocked me.

He was right. Evelyn still hadn't awakened her wolf spirit yet. So what if she had a more noble standing in the pack? In the end, she would still have to rely on me, who was strong and powerful.

I stared at Evelyn with a steely gaze. There was even a hint of derision in my eyes.

I had never revealed Evelyn's family background in front of our classmates, nor had I ever mentioned my own.

However, everyone noticed that I was able to ride up to the school in a car. To strengthen the young werewolves' bodies, the Alliance Academy had made it a rule that all ordinary werewolves had to travel to school on foot. Only the Alpha's heir had the special privilege of being driven to school.

Besides, Evelyn had never once disobeyed any of my orders. She was like an obedient little pet, bending entirely to my will.

It was completely reasonable for our classmates to misunderstand our identities, and why should I bother correcting them?

Was I supposed to tell them that they were wrong? That my father was a chauffeur who worked for Evelyn's family, and I was just the son of a chauffeur?

That if it hadn't been for Evelyn, I wouldn't have the right to ride to school in a car, either?

But even then, so what?

Evelyn liked me because I was the toughest werewolf in the pack—the earliest among the younger generation to awaken my wolf spirit and become a warrior for the pack!

All of this was meant to be mine!

Thus, I puffed out my chest and slowly walked toward Evelyn. After taking my seat, which was next to hers, I forcibly reined in my anger and said with feigned tenderness, "It doesn't matter if you didn't get it. It's just lunch. Where's mine?"

I could understand why Evelyn didn't get any food for Judy. A young she-wolf's jealousy was just as terrifying as a rabid rogue.

Knowing what Evelyn was like, she would always buy an extra serving for me whenever she got food. She couldn't say anything if I gave Judy the serving meant for me, right?

However, Evelyn continued to just sit there with a calm expression as she slowly said something that enraged me.

"I ate it."

"You ate it? You ate both servings?" I questioned as I stared at Evelyn in shock. "You really are a pig! How can you even finish two servings of food?"

I glared at Evelyn. I couldn't believe that she, who'd always obeyed my orders, had dared to defy me! My anger was about to consume all of my reason, but she continued to look completely unbothered.

The indifference in her voice felt completely foreign to me as she replied, "I can eat as much as I want with my own money. It's just two servings of lunch. I can even eat 20 or 200 of them.

Just then, I heard one of our classmates mutter, "Your own money? You're spending the money Wyatt gave you!"

That was the last straw for me. I couldn't hold in my temper any longer. I flipped the desk over and wagged my finger at her, snarling, "I was going to forgive you, Evelyn, but you keep provoking me time and time again! Let's see how long you can maintain this attitude of yours. Don't come crying to me, begging me to forgive you!"

Satisfied with the stunned looks on everyone's faces, I grabbed my things and sat down beside Judy.

I heard our classmates saying, "Evelyn is so bad at her studies. Without the help of Young Master Wyatt, who gets excellent grades, she'll soon fail her classes and get kicked out of the academy!"

I thought to myself, "Just you wait, Evelyn. I'm going to look forward to seeing you crying and begging for my forgiveness!"

Wyatt's POV"Why aren't you leaving yet? Are you so keen on becoming my father's daughter-in-law?" I snarled at Evelyn, who was still standing beside us. "You should look at yourself and see if you're even good enough or not first. Now get lost!""You're delusional," Evelyn shot back derisively, her brows creased. "Why would I be interested in you?"She bumped hard into me with her shoulder as she marched off toward her car and left.I'd grabbed Father by the hand, keeping him with me, so he could only yell after her in discontent, "Don't worry, Evelyn! When I get home, I'll teach this brat a good lesson!"Then, he turned to me, his eyes blazing with fury. "What the hell are you doing? I finally managed to see her, but you pissed her off and made her leave! Can't you do something right for once?"I eyed him in exasperation as I pleaded, "Can you not show up at my school?""I'll come if I damn well please!" Father roared back at me. "What about the money? Instead of spending yo

Evelyn's POVWyatt had texted me earlier with a short apology, and now, he'd shown up at my house in person. It seemed the little performance I put on this afternoon had a pretty notable effect on him.Wyatt looked at me, his voice tinged with jealousy as he asked, "Does being with Alpha Bennett make you that happy?""It does! He treats me well, unlike you," I replied with a nod before voicing my curiosity. "Why are you, someone with a girlfriend, here at my house?""If I broke up with Judy, would you still like me? Just like the way you used to…" Wyatt asked quietly. His head was bowed, so I couldn't see his expression.Despite knowing full well this was just an act of his, I was still quite delighted to see him in this state. Tamping down the delight I felt, I answered curtly, "Nope."Wyatt's lips twisted in a bitter smile. "So you really… don't plan on ever being with me again.""What's wrong? Did you run out of money again?" I eyed him in scrutiny."You'd only ever show up

Wyatt's POVI had just gotten home when I heard a cold voice bark at me, "What's going on with you and Evelyn lately?"It was Father, who was sitting in my room."Nothing," I said.On the way back, I couldn't stop thinking about my situation with Evelyn. Now that I saw him, my mood soured even further."Nothing? Didn't I tell you to go make up with her? Haven't you been able to appease her yet?" Father snapped, his tone demanding—as though I owed him money.Irritated, I retorted, "Why should I appease her? She fired me! Am I supposed to beg her? Don't I have any self-respect?"Yes, I did feel some regret after seeing that she was now with Bennett. Marcus kept screaming in my head, "She belongs to us! You must snatch her back!"But now that I saw the way Father was behaving, I was glad that Evelyn and I had gone our separate ways.I had barely finished speaking when Father stormed up to me and slapped me hard across the face."You little brat! Where the hell are we going to ge

Evelyn's POVI reached out to pry Wyatt's hand off my wrist, but he clutched it even more tightly.Smiling bitterly, I asked, "I thought you hated having me cling to you the most? You said that the way I kept latching onto you felt like a nightmare to you."This was what he said to me just before I had died. I wouldn't have known about it if he hadn't told me. It was then that I found out how much my feelings for him repulsed him.Wyatt was startled. "I never said that!"I knew that the current Wyatt hadn't said it, of course, but it didn't mean he didn't feel that way."You've hated me all along, haven't you?" I said sorrowfully as I squeezed a few tears out of my eyes. "If you didn't hate me, then why would you have spent all your time with Judy, giving her all the gifts I gave you? Why would you treat her so well and treat me like a maid?"I no longer liked Wyatt. After everything I'd been through, the only feeling I had left for him was loathing. I'd died once because of h

  • Reborn for My True Alpha   Chapter 35 Wyatt Runs After Her

Lewis' POVIn my head, I asked my wolf, "I didn't mishear that, right? What did Alpha Bennett just say?"I had to wonder if there was something wrong with my hearing.Everyone had been saying that Evelyn was some old werewolf's sugar baby, but Bennett just said he was pursuing her.He even used the word "pursue"! Why would he need to pursue someone?Wasn't it more likely that as long as he nodded in agreement, any she-wolf would jump at the chance to be with him?Refusing to accept this outcome, I stared at Bennett, trying to catch some hint that he was lying. He eyed me sharply, asking, "What is it? Do you have a problem with that?""Not at all!"I wouldn't dare to have any problems with that. I just couldn't believe that Bennett had fallen for Evelyn.Did this mean that I'd been flirting all day with the she-wolf Bennett was interested in?I'd even said those things in front of him! How I wished I could kill myself right now.As I recalled this, I hurriedly apologized, "I

Wyatt's POVThe match was about to start. My teammates and I were warming up, but I couldn't keep my eyes on the court. They kept drifting toward the bleachers.Evelyn was standing there in her white platform sandals, rallying the she-wolves around her just like she used to cheer for me—only this time, she was doing it for Bennett.Just then, I heard Anna's voice loud and clear. "Is she trying to win them over?""She's probably desperate to make her presence known with Alpha Bennett here," Judy said softly. "She used to act the same way when she chased Wyatt, didn't she?""You mean she's after Alpha Bennett now? Is she crazy?" Anna's eyes widened in disbelief as she glanced over at Evelyn. "Does she think Alpha Bennett would willingly be her plaything? Who'd want a she-wolf like her who's gone to bed with some old werewolf?""Wyatt, the match is starting!"At the urging of my teammates, I refocused my attention and got ready for the match. As soon as it started, Lewis and I r
