ADIRA'S POV

The discussion about Redbull and Lumina had left a certain weight in the air. And it weighed down on us, filling the silence.

“Does anyone want some tea?” Mum asked abruptly, filling the silence with her smooth voice.

She was never one to sit in an uncomfortable or weighty silence. She always felt the need to fill it with her voice. And I could not be more glad for that right now.

“Isn't it a little too hot for that right now?” Dad asked.

“You have never been one for a nice cup of tea. You don't understand its healing nature, so don't slander it!” Mom scowled.

Dad threw his hand in the air, giving up immediately with a soft chuckle.

“What about you, baby? Should I get you a cup? I have some really nice ones I got recently.” She said with a twinkle in her eyes that screamed she would be sad if I said no.

“Yes, Mum. I will love a cup of your best. I do need something to help me digest all that food. I greedily ate a lot because of how good the food was,” I replied.
