Chapter 3

I woke up in a room.

The room is so cozy like I am in a hotel room I have been to.

Someone knocked, and I pretended to be asleep.

"I know you are awake, lady. I hear your troubled breathing here."

What the-?

"What do you want!?" I shouted.

Someone opened the door, and I saw a very handsome man.

But his eyes seemed familiar, like I had seen them before.

"What are you doing here on our property?" His eyes are now dark.

"I- I got lost," I whispered and looked away. I feel like I am drowning in his beautiful eyes.

"Seems like you’re not." I look at him, unbelieve.

"Oh! Your awake!" I saw the twins, and they ran toward me.

"Are you now okay? I am worried about you." I smiled.

"I am okay, Alistair," his eyes got bigger.

"You do distinguish us even though we have the same clothing." I saw Alexander looking at me.

"Why?" He just shook his head. I smiled at him also.

"How can you distinguish the twins." The man in the entryway asks.

"By their eyes," I look at the twins. They have different shades on the eyes. "Alistair has darker orbs than Alexander, and I know who they are even if they are not looking. I- I just feel it." I answered him honestly.

"You are the only one who can recognize them, just you and me." I just nodded my head.

"Are you werewolves?" I ask him. He is the black wolf I saw and the father of the twins.

"Yes, and you are not welcome here."

"Dad!" Alexander opposes his father.

"She can stay with us, right?" Alistair asks.

What?

"No, she is a human. What if she'll use us for her greed?" I look at him. His face is full of disgust and anger.

"I would not!" I shouted at him. How dare he accuse me.

"Oh really, then why did you take my picture yesterday?"

"I am just amused, I just thought you were just a wolf in a mountain, and I just took a picture because you were huge, and I don’t know if you are half-human or supernatural." I defended.

"Still, I don't trust humans. They bring bad luck." Then he walks out. I don't know why I am hurt. I'm offended.

I clutch my hand right into my chest.

"Are you okay?" Alexander asks. I just nodded at him.

"I bring you food."

They give me cookies from a famous brand. I bet they have the lifestyle humans do. Their transformations only make them different.

"Thank you." They watch me eat. I offered some, but they just said no.

"Can I ask where we are?" They look at each other.

"We are at the Crescent Moon pack, our father's pack. You are at the Sanford's Mansion, our mansion." I nodded my head.

"Are we far from civilization?"

"Uhm, sort of? Father didn't like humans." I just nodded.

"When will I go home?" They look so sad, so sudden.

"Are you leaving? I thought you could stay with us." I hold their hands.

"I also have my own life in there." They nodded their head.

"I know. You have your own family too." I lowered my head.

"I'm an orphan," I whispered. "But I have a friend,"

"We can be family, you, dad, and us." I know how painful it is to grow up without a mother. But they are still lucky because they have their father. At the same time, I grew up in a small orphanage and felt so lonely. Nobody wanted to adopt me because of the golden hair lining in my hair and my golden-brown orbs. They said I was cursed or something. I have one friend; she'll get married soon, and I will be alone again.

That's why I love traveling because it makes me feel I am free.

"You don't have a mom?" I nodded. "Even a dad?" The other twin asks. "Yes," I saw pity in their eyes.

"Is your wound now healed?" I glimpse it, and as usual, it has already healed.

"Yeah,"

"That fast?" Alexander says, Amused.

"I don't know. Since I was young, my wounds easily got healed. That's why they saw me as a freak."

"Hmm, you are a human. How come?" I shrug my shoulders.

A woman knocked and bowed her head.

"This is the clothing Alpha West sends."

She put it on the bedside table and bowed again before she left.

"Father took away all of your stuff,"

"I have a valuable thing in there. Where did he put my stuff?"

They look at me,

I got up quickly.

"I'll wash and just sit there, okay? Wait for me."

I wash quickly but neatly.

I saw that there is no difference in terms of things. It seems normal.

I blow-dry my hair and let it flow.

I look at myself.

Aly says I am beautiful. Why can't I see it? Why do I see a freak in the mirror?

A tear escapes.

I just wanted to feel beautiful, but why am I not seeing it?

I went outside the bathroom, and I saw them watching tv.

"Where is your father?" I ask them.

They look at me.

"You have a golden lining," Alistair commented.

"Does it bother you? I can hide them." I spoke.

"No, you look so beautiful." I blushed when this 5 to 6-year-old boy complimented me.

"Isn't it strange? Am I look a freak?" I asked them, but they just shook their heads.

They stand up, and they hold both of my hands. Alistair on the right and

Alexander is on the left.

"Let us bring you to father." I nodded.

When we left the room where I was, a vast hallway greeted us, and it looked like a palace. Every corner has vines; it seems magical. I love it.

"Who brings me into the room I stayed in?" I suddenly feel embarrassed because I passed out yesterday.

"The butler put you in my father's back. He orders it, by the way." I bit my lip.

"When will you be able to transform like a wolf?"

"Dad says when we reach seven years old, a one month to go." I nodded at what Alistair said.

"At this hour, dad is in his office."

They knock on a door.

"Father!? Can we go in?" Alexander asks.

"Come in," they opened the door for me.

I saw him doing some things.

"What do you want?" His voice is so cold, and it sends shivers down my spine.

"Where is my stuff?" He looked up straight into my eyes, and I saw he was shocked upon seeing my hair and looking closely into my eyes.

He looks away,

"I throw it," I feel my heart drops.

"W-what?"

"I didn't repeat what I was saying."

"You can't do that; I have my precious things in there. I can't lose them." He looks at the twins.

"Can you please excuse us?" I saw disagreement in their eyes, but they still followed their father.

They already leave us in the room.

"For the safety of my pack, I throw away all the things humans bring in here. I can't risk my pack's safety."

I suddenly feel weak and find myself already sitting on the floor.

I saw him stand up.

"What are you doing?"

I look him straight in the eyes.

"Please, bring me back my things. Something important is in there," I beg him. I suddenly kneeled, but he made me stand up, supporting me.

"Please," he looks away.

"You can't," I shook my head.

"I will get my memorabilia and my necklace, please. It is only the thing that can help me to know my parents or relatives, please." A tear escapes from my eyes.

"I am begging you," I gasp for some air.

It is so special for me; it is the only thing that comforts me when I am alone or sad. I feel safe when I have it; I know it's part of me. I can't throw it.

Mother Faye says it is the only thing they have found in the bag where I was left, and I believe it is the only way for me to know who, where are my parents or some relatives.

"Fine," I smiled at him.

"Thank you," he let me stand on my own, stepping back and looking into my eyes.

"What do you have to do to me?" he whispers.

"You make me feel like I know you," he added.
