Chapter 2. Lucky to be reborn

Catherine quickly adjusted her breath, her hands patted her face to lift up her spirit. Then she authenticated that she was born again. Perhaps, based on the current time and the notification of her cousin’s engagement party, it was not too difficult to remember that date. This is the fateful day of eight years ago.

Fortunately, luckily! Catherine just wanted to cry out. A crazy emotion has covered her mind! Catherine just wanted to laugh out loud to express her uncontrolled feelings right now.

Her old love had ruined her family and her whole lifetime. That damn-bastard Billy also appeared at the party tonight too and she had been so, so stupid to love him at the first sight. Of course, only an innocent naive girl just like Catherine of eight years ago could madly love him without any doubt. And she, a woman with the soul of twenty-five-year would never have been on that wrong path again

Flowers in the cage had died. Now, she will grow strong and never be so easy to beat. She has been buried in the storm and would be ready to fight back those who stood up against her and her family.

"Lady Catherine, I just called Dr. Kelly to come over here. Please tell me if there is any discomfort."

Uncle Harry served her a cup of hot milk, then asked her nervously. Catherine tried to suppress the chaotic heart, and wiped her tears over her cheeks. She tried to clean it and make herself feel calm again. Then she grinned, hoarsely replied to Uncle Harry:

"I'm okay. I have dreamed of a scary dream, and… it’s also a little panic. Uncle Harry, I don't need Dr. Kelly. "

"So, if that happens, maybe you need to take a rest for a little more. Do you need me to postpone this morning appointment with Mister Jake Everton?"

Catherine calmly drank a warm milk cup and recalled the familiar names in his head again. Jake Everton, his lovely snorkel, who had praised her so many times that she should not rush into the toxic relationship with Billy but she didn't listen. After all, since she married Billy, the friendship with Jake was also cool to cool and no longer contacted.

Catherine became more and more confused and blamed, the more part was regretful. Jake's friend, John, Justin's brother ...

And Christopher Harris. Her regret.

Catherine smiled at An Uncle Harry, she said:

"No need to tell Jake again. I shall go after that. Don’t be serious uncle Harry, I’m alright."

"Yes lady."

Uncle Harry smiled and turned his back. When Uncle Harry turned away, Catherine suddenly called to him, smiling with appreciation and gratitude:

“Thank you Uncle Harry.”

“Yes? Lady Catherine?”

“Nothing. I just wanted to say thanks to you a long time ago. You were my family, Uncle Harry.”

Her face lit up with genuine happiness. The sea-blue eyes sparkled with gratitude and contained both regret and self-blame. But very soon, uncle Harry could no longer see any tumultuous emotion in her eyes. The Butler was slightly surprised. Lady Catherine was so naive, he has taken care of her since she was born until she has grown up to be a beautiful and brilliant young woman, but he has never seen Lady Catherine with a gentle temperament and maturity at this time.

Like a rose washed in the dew, blooming flagrantly.

Harris, as if seeing his little daughter grow up, could not help but exclaim in reply to her:

"I've always been here for the Turner family, and for Lady Catherine. You'll always be my family."

...

Catherine just waited until uncle Harry left, then, she quickly dropped the bed, rushed into the bathroom and hastily looked into the mirror.

Reflected in the big mirror was the face of a young girl with a fresh and bright beauty just like a peach. She trembled to touch her face, then saw the girl in the mirror who was doing the same action. Damn! This was her, exactly! That was her - the seventeen-year-old girl for the lost past. She was a young and beautiful girl, just like a budding flower bud.

After some minutes of shock and disbelief, Catherine seemed to be calm. As she could remember, she would first meet that damn Billy tonight then be crazy in love with him. As she could even recognize, all of her loss and pain was because of Billy, and herself too for putting her faith in the wrong man.

Catherine let out a smile of gratitude. God had saved her at the right time. Her family was happy, no one would be tortured or harmed at all. From now on, the Turner family shall still be safe. Her brand new life shall not be wasted in gratitude like she had in her last life. Catherine absolutely won't let anything of the previous life happen again.

And about two miseries. Catherine had made a decision with a determined look. She won't let them treat her like a stupid girl. She will stay away from them, never let them have any opportunity to harm her and her family again.

Catherine laughed innocently, observing the girl in the mirror with unbelievable emotions mixed with emotional excitement. That young “Catherine” still had light yellow hair straight down like a smooth cloud, each strand as thin and soft as silk, falling down to her slender shoulders. Her milky skin was shining in the sun and her eyes had a light brown blue, glittering like a deep lake. She had the basic beauty of a young girl uptown. For a long long time, she has forgotten how she looked when she was in the brightest moment of her life. How could she make herself lose all this confidence and beauty to become a mindless doll as Billy’s will.

She was too naive and then easily torn to pieces.

Catherine couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Forget it! She realized that the man was not infatuated with her beauty. Innocence was just an understatement, she admitted. Billy was an ambitious man. That bastard had “loved” Turner's property and nothing more, nothing less.

Catherine sighed then stroked her beautiful face and said to herself:

"How could he compare me to that cruel Anna! Sounds ridiculous! But nothing to worry Catherine. You must cheer up for that new beginning."

Yes, her life shall be renewed. She had dozens of things to do. She should honor her parents and try to learn carefully so that no one could laugh at her for being a colorful vase without scent. She had to graduate soon and it would come in a few months. She needed to be strong and confident, but the most important thing that needed to be done right now, Catherine wanted to meet that person so badly.

With the thought of him suddenly appearing in her might, her face turned red and she couldn't hide a soft and sweet smile.

Catherine closed her eyes and mumbled his name with sadness, regret, but excruciating pain.

“I will find you soon. Please wait for me.”
